Cost cutting isn’t a bad thing if RAM passed that savings on to the customer and started dropping truck prices; the issue is that they are cost cutting to save themselves money, then turning around and charging more to make more money on top of that. Double dipping never ends well.
Reasons why rams sit on the lot and end up getting 15k+ knocked off MSRP 😂
The same is for ALL major manufacturers. Wonder why food is so high? Not supply chain, it's corporate greed
@bawintermage8351 I'm a farmer, and can confirm its not us getting all this money.

I like Ram/Jeep but at this moment in their existence I think I’ll wait until they come back from wandering in the wilderness.
That’s actually what they’re doing. 👍🏾
What are they gonna come back to? They never had anything worth buying.

I've had good luck with my two ram trucks.
A Morocco built ram
Guys, $67,730.00 no way... great TFL coverage...We got dupped in our current fake world...Not too long ago, 4 cylinder, and 6 cylinder vehicles were priced much lower than V8's...this vehicle fails to stack up...Dealers will deduct $17,000.00 or more from that price later as they dont sell...Not worth it...
I loved my 2018 Hemi Ram but I upgraded to a 2024 Titan because of the V8 in the Nissan
Nissan is converting the Titan's plant for EV production! Titan is dead!
@@philfeist2127 If what you say is true then the value of my 2024 ICE Titan just went up!!
Sorry it won't and before you know it parts will be discontinued@@rockyvi5709
Factory Chrome is Cheap junk and retains to much heat .
@@rockyvi5709 Yes, Nissan is discontinuing the Titan full-size pickup truck after the 2024 model year. Production is scheduled to end in the summer of 2024 at Nissan's Canton, Mississippi plant, which will be repurposed for the production of two new electric vehicles:
i personally love chrome on cars/trucks & i hate black on trim
agreed. black is getting really old really fast
For my money I went Ford. I appreciate the “trucky” upgrades like the pro power and onboard scales. Really nice upgrades
I was talking to a friend and he had no idea nissan stopped making the Titan and toyota and ram 1t00 are done with V8s. and only 3 v8s left in 1500 150 series trucks. And like Andre said they are moving from big displacement. I think the gm 6.2 is here only because of the AFM cylinder deactivation. Keep and hold on to those V8s.
The 6.2 V8 is around for fleet buyers. And that's a good thing.
I bought a 2024 Ram bighorn with the 5.7 and 392 gears. Thank goodness. Getting 18.5-19.0 combined driving. 20.8 if you drive 55-60.
You made a good move getting one of the last Hemi before they are obsolete!
I have a 2015 RAM 2500 Big Horn Crew Cab. So it's 9 yrs old and my cloth interior is still in great shape overall. It's only showing some mild wear signs. I take good care of my truck, so I'm sure that helps.
I bet chrome will be popular again once it's unavailable, we always want what we can't have lol
love the chrome on my '13 ram 1500 big horn except...... the trim around the shifter. after 10yrs i still haven't hit it w/flat finish, maybe inanother 10yrs when i find the time
I love chrome. Doesn't chip and look like shyte in 8 years
Yep I have the chrome package on my 2020 F150 Lariat. Would like to add more.
I think the Chrome aspect depends on personal taste as well as color. I feel like the Painted versions of everything to look more sporty is starting to be overplayed. And I own one!
Plus it looks like shit in 3yrs.
Roman mentions the manufacturing process for chrome is bad for the environment but I never heard him complain about the process to obtain lithium for electric vehicles. Kind of disingenuous.
An edition named after a character from "Space Balls"
I think the people from Tx came up with that name first.... Still funny tho lol
Old man here, I like chrome!
Me too.
I like real polished chrome metal not fake plastic chrome!
Scottramussen- me to brother. I’m older also but I like my chrome. My Ram is a 2019 Longhorn and black. Does look sharp…
I know everyone is saying there will be turbo reliability issues. The same people that swear by a Duramax, Cummins or Powerstroke. Ford has proven the turbos can live on gas motors as well. Ford has a turbo or supercharger on everything without too much drama. Not saying they’re perfect. Point is the Hurricane has benefited from that technology.
Maybe Ram should have offered the Hemi as a base engine for a year or two. Ford kept the Coyote for those of us that believe a half ton truck should have a V8.
i dont think people understand how they work and just think fast whirling turbo = potential problems... untrue.
I have been very happy with my Ram trucks. On my second Ram and have no issues. I towed off road and hauled and off roaded the first one 2003 1500 quad cab 4x4 until 114,000 miles and sold it to a friend who is still driving it today. On my second Ram 2015 2500 power wagon with 37,000 miles towing the same trailer both Hemi V8 engines. 1500 5.7L & 2500 6.4L Before willys in 1941 before jeep 1963 Dodge 4x4 since 1934. Dodge was the first 4x4 for over a decade before Ford and G.M. and both Ford and G.M. used Chrysler transfer cases New process to make their trucks 4x4 and manual transmission's.
I bought a 25' Ram with the new Hurricane about a month ago. I absolutely hate it. Wish I had my 21' Hemi back. R.I.P. Ram
Why do you hate it does it have reliability issues
both engines not bad I've tried all models with towing and no towing typical ford owners
@@mjoliver457 lol im a ford owner i actually like the new ram tbh
I have a ram 2022 had a 2020 tundra the v6 ram pulls plenty and has a higher payload then my tundra did 😂.
@@ms1406 I just don't like it. I've only put 600 miles on it but the throttle fluctuates back and forth so much when you are trying to drive on a 2 lane road with your foot on the gas pedal. Pulled my 10k lbs dump trailer with it and you got to run the truck like you're mad at it to get it to pull it. Pulled it several times with my Hemi and no problems. And of course when you start it sounds like a swarm of bees and not a real engine sound. Just really don't care for it. My opinion! Miss my Hemi.
What axel ratio? Big difference between 3.21 and 3.92.i had one of each with the hemi and around town no difference in mpg but about 2 mpg difference on the highway. You do a great job but don't overlook the axel ratio on trucks. Thanks
I went back too v8 Nissan from 3 ford turbos so just nicer having a v8 even if it uses more gas we know this engine will have less issues and more reliability v8 💪
The Nissan V8 for sure, as we have decades of history on it showing it can last; however, new V8’s like the redesigned Coyote do not have enough history to state that just being a V8 makes it more dependable. N/A engines have gotten ridiculously complicated to meet the strict emissions regulations required of all new designs.
Years ago where I worked and sold tires, OWL meant "outlined white letters". Some tires have letters that are solid white, other are white outlined only.
That exactly what it stands for!
OWL = Outlined White Letters. RWL = Raised White Letters. ORWL = Outlined Raised White Letters. B, BLK, BW, BSW = Blackwall or Black Sidewall. W, WW, WSE = Whitewall or White Sidewall.
Stelantis doesn’t get it.
lol… chrome isn’t that bad. Solar panel and EV battery production isn’t green either.
Go back to your Fake News channel
Stelantis announced yesterday that discontinuing chrome in all new future vehicles, including Ram. Apparently cariogenic to workers making the chrome plating - but not the finished product. Plan on designing in to use a mix of metallic elements and finishes such as bronze, silver, graphite, stainless steel, satin steel.
I Love my 2022 F150 Lariat Powerboost with the on board 7200 watt generator. I power my camper, house and use on the job sometimes. Nothing on the market compares!
Give it a few years. That Ford will be falling apart.. its definitely unfortunate.. there made so poorly these days..
My dad got the same with 53430K Miles, all towing 7000lb trailer across multiple states. Has zero issues, he loves this baby, He traded his 2021 GMC Denali with transmission and electronics issues
I’ve got a GMC Sierra with the 2.7L turbo and I love it. I use it to commute to work, trips to Home Depot and green waste, and the occasional furniture move. It’s more than capable and as full size truck it gets 18.5 mpg around town. I simply have no use for a diesel or V8. I’ve had no issues with the turbo. Prior to my current truck I had the 5.3 V8. I got 15 mpg around town. Both trucks were 2WD with the trailer towing package and great trucks. It all depends on your application. If you’re going to do a lot of towing, I’d go 5.3. If not, it’s hard to beat the 2.7L.
Dodge offers some nice features but my cousin has the Ram with the Hemi and he hates it. 11mpg around town will do that to you. Oh, and I like the chrome. Back in the day chrome was premium.
Your cousin only gets 11pm? Ya that’s a guzzler. My 2019 ram with the Hemi averages 16-17 city. 22 highway. If I drove 60 miles an hour I may get more. 🤷🏻
I ordered the TUNGSTEN fully loaded except for block heater. I will not be towing much but when I need it will be well in its towing capacity. TUNGSTEN now has more comfort, luxury, overall storage, and best tailgate in the game. I don’t care about the V8 sound just HP & torque when I need for passing, getting on the highway, and flowing with traffic in the fast lane(all truck brands I mentioned are adequate for this). I give FORD credit it has the best automatic running boards, tailgate outlets, and under back seat storage. GMC has best hands free driving and lower back of back seat storage. TOYOTA has only the placement of the infotainment screen. If you agree, agree or disagree and if I left something out let me know?
Waiting for the ram charger. Need to see some real world tests of it to see if it’ll be worth my time.
Why would I want a high tech twin turbo I6 over a tried and true 5.7 Hemi that gets the same mpg? I rented a 2020 Ram 1500 4x4 for a 3500 mile road trip and saw as high as 23 mpg. And no bed cover.
i got 24mpg once driving from florida to md. going ~75 (speed limit). very very flat roads
The high output is premium only, the regular out put can use any grade
I saw the earlier comparison on TFL. I saw the look on your faces when you accelerated the new Ram. With the higher torque numbers I would imagine towing capability should be improved. Just a question of reliability and cost of turbo replacement. We will have to see.
In case no one answered your OWL question-I'm guessing it means Outline White Letter. There's probably owl on the back side of the tire.
The SO runs on 87 but 91 is required for the HO.
I have a 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi etorque "V8" baby. To many issues already are raising with the 2025 SST 3.0 TT I6. The wiring is having problems due to they were produced too short according to floor workers in the assembly plant. I'll wait 5 mo years before I even think about looking at one. Oh yeah the repairs on the turbo is different to access for repairs. I believe they have to do a body off
Keep your hemi.. they will start going up in value
Compare it to the 3.5 Ecoboost. V-8s are going away, more people buy the 3.5, and the 3.5 EB was the first and serves as a good baseline for the V-6 twin turbos.
The V8 will stay for the fleet buyer. And I thank them for keeping it going! You the commoner will be pointed to the side of the dealer lot with turbo V6 and turbo 4 and you will be hypnotized to luv it too!
@@southsidetom On what do you base the V-8 being retained for fleet buyers? We are addressing half tons here, not HD. I think V-8s in this category will all eventually be retired as an option. Are you able to provide manufacturer documentation of the industry's marketing intent?
@@joecanis484 it was never pointed out specifically in this that it is only 1/2 ton centric. Re listen to the first two minutes. No guard rails were placed on their discussion. You can make an assumption.
@@southsidetom Seriously? Get real. From the description below the video: "Andre and Roman show you the 2025 Ram 1500 and talk about how it compares to its Ford and Chevy counterparts!" Do you really think the video includes HD as "counterparts"? I would say that is focused solely on half tons. You are one of those people that can just never admit they are mistaken no matter how minor the mistake. I am blocking any rebuttal. I have no time for blockheads.
Thanks!
Love the overview of this new Ram! Also the flag is great, breaks up the wall nicely.
I own a '23 Azure Gray powerboost platinum f150 and have encountered numerous hybrid transmission problems along with an exploded sunroof due to a thermal transition from desert to mountain temps within a couple hours (glass was all over me as I was driving on the highway after what I thought was a shotgun blast until I looked on top of the truck and the sunroof glass still maintained the form of the upwards and outwards explosion like a small volcano). My truck has been 'in the 'shop' more than 70 days so far and now I have to wait another 45 days on a new transmission replacement. I really like this truck with the pro power, the better mpg, all the tricks/options but I would like to actually drive it.
Sorry to hear that! I know a guy with a Platinum Powerboost that had the transmission replaced. Afterwards the dealer discovered that the original problem was actually some hybrid related control module. I don’t know any specific details. 🤷🏼♂️
Fords are terrible these days. Lots of issues with the 10 speeds from Ford and gm.. not worth it.. hemi/zf8 for longevity
@@claysmurthwaite2386The 10-speed in my 2020 F150 is definitely clunky at times, but it hasn’t failed in 110k miles.
It is a value to me to keep the body style for a long time as I like to keep my truck for 6-7 years
Thank you TFL for another great video. Very informative and entertaining. I em on the bandwagon about turbos reliability. These new ones haven't been out long enough though. I em willing to give it a try. The RAM caught my attention ever since you introduced it. As time goes on, i believe these companies will stand by their product if things start to fail early. Toyota is a good example. Even if i dont like these prices. Im with everyone on that. This is a completely different market than it was just 5 years and prior ago.. Prices are insane. However, I do understand TFL points also. While not everyone may need the tech. When you actually have the "creature comforts" with these new trucks in particular. im sure some minds may be at ease with what they purchased.. Some people should go out and test drive them. While i love my V8. These twin turbos are something serious with that extra torque in particular.. it seems like we are in another transitional period... well thanks TFL again
I don't mind the chrome, looks more like a truck with the chrome and it its way more durable then a painted front end. Painted Front ends looks more SUVish. You can scratch your painted bumper to heck just driving through tall grass. And black plastic, well it's made to fade and looks cheap
I agree. And a pain to keep clean etc etc
I'm really liking the 2024 Ford F150 STX with the 5.0 or 2.7. You can find them under $40K. Lots of bang for your buck (in today's dollars).

1000% Agree....Car Detailers HATE Black vehicles because of so much time & effort to get out swirl marks.
Get rid of primary Blue & Green colors bring back Brown, Beige and Cream Metallic. No body needs a White Vehicle as there are 10,000 of them on the road.
I am sick of the upkeep of a Black color vehicle.
Here in Florida and anywhere it’s mostly sunny and 80+ degrees a white or light color is essential especially if you can’t park in garage!
Detailed cars at Ford...we hated black vehicles for that reason
"No body needs a White Vehicle as there are 10,000 of them on the road." Is that like Yogi Bera saying "No one goes to that restaurant anymore. It's too crowded."
Hello TFL! Huge fan and a Patreon supporter. Please take a Nissan Titan to Moab. I got a great deal back in the fall on a brand new Titan Pro4x for 52k after rebates and incentives. It's been a great truck these 1st 18,000 miles. Sure, it's thirsty, but I love it. Being on the East Coast, a Moab trip is not in the cards anytime soon, but I'd love to see how it handles your standard affair out there. Love you guys and all your honest reviews.
Silverado Trailboss is the answer ! Cheap enough and very capable.
SST is a gold vacutainer to me.
You guys are awesome.
For the past 30yrs I've bought the latest and greatest every 2 to 4yrs. With the ridiculous prices and lack of reliability I'll drive my 2020 until the wheels fall off.
I bought a 21 just before the prices got crazy. I keep looking at new trucks to trade in but the prices have convinced me that my 21 is the nicest truck in my driveway. I am only getting rid of this truck if someone writes it off
Compare the hemi V8 to the hurricane because that’s what most people are upset about but if you want a current generation test, it has to be turbo fours and turbo sixes together in a mix… But you seriously have to do towing as part of it at 75% max load; how do they perform, especially on your Eisenhower loop?
$63k sticker for $48k right now in Lexington, KY. Well optioned Big Horn.
Ford F-150 owner checking in. The 10 speed transmission is a failure. The two most important things to me are engine reliability and transmission reliability.
10 speed nice for a little while more moving parts = less realiability
Libertarian- your so right. I always been saying that. All I what is a reliable power plant. Engine and transmission period. That’s the reason why I went with a 2019 Ram. Hemi n ZF. A lot better chances with reliability by far. Older Toyotas with there 5.7 are also great power plants. Cheers
Check the inside of the tires should have raises or outlined white letters.or you might have got wrong tires
I don't like GM as much as I used to, but at least I got my V8 back.
It is certainly a V8, but my guess is that it isn’t your V8 as it includes all the cylinder deactivation crap that nobody asked for.
Does or would any body use the trailer assist?
Compare this ram with the nissan titan 5.6l and also do mpg runs with 3.55 and the 3.92 rear end with the same engine and transmission

Could you do a video about what SUV is the best to buy for people like me who need it for everyday driving? I am in the market for one that will provide leg room, head room and comfort for my brother who is 6 foot 5. Also, I need to make sure my mother can sit higher up than in my current sedan. I need one with plenty of room to put a folding three wheel walker in it. It must fit into a 12 foot by 16 foot garage of my townhouse without damaging the side mirrors. Any suggestions?
Tahoe and Denali still have V8 motors but they are BIG SUVs
These two guys praise it too highly. My fourth truck here, 2017, looking for a trade, but what if has a debacle like Toyota. I’ve heard stories about the USW, stating the quality of these products, are we really buying quality here. There are some 2024 Rebel models, but they too have had issues, I have never had any issues with the vehicles of the past, but these two talk as if it’s the greatest thing on earth, well, we’ll see as time goes by.
The worst possible scenario is to have is a large expensive repair and still making payments on the vehicle. If manufacturers want to charge this much for vehicles the warranty needs to be much longer. Of course it would be good to have reasonably prices as well
If I were in the market for a new truck, and my hand was being forced to buy a turbocharged engine, I would purchase one that's been in service for a couple of years. This engine might be good, but only time will tell.
It's pretty risky for Ram not to have other engine options.

Id prefer Stelantis had done a full refresh… new sheet metal and noticeable changes inside and out.
Not sure what brand we want to purchase next. Although I've purchased my last four vehicles from frank C. At Johnsen's automotive plaza. They've gotten too big and have completely lost the old hometown connection that we used to have with Frank. I am probably going to build my next with an alternative dealership unfortunately.

Leave the flag up!
all truck Mfg's are cutting costs by eliminating as many engines as possible..it cost less to just offer a 6cyl vs offering both 6cyl and 8 cyl..I bet chevy and ford will also do this in the near future.
Four-wheel-drive comes with magnetic clutch plates, not the best option. good friend of mine just trashed his transmission running on all wheel drive heavy rain
OWL. Outlined white lettered tires
It just can't bring myself to spend $60k to $70k on a new truck. I decided on a 2020 F150 Lariat 5.0 with 12,800 miles in December. I saved over $30k on it vs new. It's missing one feature I wanted, adaptive cruise control. Now up to 17,500 miles. Time for an oil change.
Does that factor in the 12k discount on new trucks, full warranty, and worse resale on the used truck?
Not too bad
In the old days OWL meant outside white lettering. I THINK. I may be wrong. But it may mean omit today. I am to old to understand all the changes they make now. Obviously that dodge. Yes I called it a dodge because that is what it is. There is no white letters.
Mavericks are everywhere in Connecticut!
Ram will be out of business even though that's my favorite. Go with Chevvy or Ford. At least they're American owned and are in no danger of going down.

First they stopped including them by default during covid due to chip shortage - makes sense
Now they just straight up don’t offer them on say the rebel 👎 . Super specific, but that plus the increased price means no deal for me. Got an AT4 instead.
Everyone is going to turbo except for Chevy? Huh? I'm driving a 2.7L 4 cylinder turbo in a 2020 Chevy Silverado work truck. Actually it is doing really well. A surprise to me but my last truck was a GMC with NA 4.3L 6 cylinder. Night and day performance wise, the turbo so much more powerful yet gets exactly the same mpg in the same driving. Reliability? We will see.
Cheapest big horn at my local dealer in Canada is 77920. Rams prices are ridiculous! My lightning XLT SR 312A was 74000 minus 10750 rebate. And people somehow think the Lightnings are expensive.
