Cost cutting isn’t a bad thing if RAM passed that savings on to the customer and started dropping truck prices; the issue is that they are cost cutting to save themselves money, then turning around and charging more to make more money on top of that. Double dipping never ends well.

I know everyone is saying there will be turbo reliability issues. The same people that swear by a Duramax, Cummins or Powerstroke. Ford has proven the turbos can live on gas motors as well. Ford has a turbo or supercharger on everything without too much drama. Not saying they’re perfect. Point is the Hurricane has benefited from that technology.
Maybe Ram should have offered the Hemi as a base engine for a year or two. Ford kept the Coyote for those of us that believe a half ton truck should have a V8.

The Nissan V8 for sure, as we have decades of history on it showing it can last; however, new V8’s like the redesigned Coyote do not have enough history to state that just being a V8 makes it more dependable. N/A engines have gotten ridiculously complicated to meet the strict emissions regulations required of all new designs.

I’ve got a GMC Sierra with the 2.7L turbo and I love it. I use it to commute to work, trips to Home Depot and green waste, and the occasional furniture move. It’s more than capable and as full size truck it gets 18.5 mpg around town. I simply have no use for a diesel or V8. I’ve had no issues with the turbo. Prior to my current truck I had the 5.3 V8. I got 15 mpg around town. Both trucks were 2WD with the trailer towing package and great trucks. It all depends on your application. If you’re going to do a lot of towing, I’d go 5.3. If not, it’s hard to beat the 2.7L.
Dodge offers some nice features but my cousin has the Ram with the Hemi and he hates it. 11mpg around town will do that to you. Oh, and I like the chrome. Back in the day chrome was premium.

I ordered the TUNGSTEN fully loaded except for block heater. I will not be towing much but when I need it will be well in its towing capacity. TUNGSTEN now has more comfort, luxury, overall storage, and best tailgate in the game. I don’t care about the V8 sound just HP & torque when I need for passing, getting on the highway, and flowing with traffic in the fast lane(all truck brands I mentioned are adequate for this). I give FORD credit it has the best automatic running boards, tailgate outlets, and under back seat storage. GMC has best hands free driving and lower back of back seat storage. TOYOTA has only the placement of the infotainment screen. If you agree, agree or disagree and if I left something out let me know?

I em willing to give it a try. The RAM caught my attention ever since you introduced it. As time goes on, i believe these companies will stand by their product if things start to fail early. Toyota is a good example. Even if i dont like these prices. Im with everyone on that. This is a completely different market than it was just 5 years and prior ago.. Prices are insane. However, I do understand TFL points also. While not everyone may need the tech. When you actually have the "creature comforts" with these new trucks in particular. im sure some minds may be at ease with what they purchased.. Some people should go out and test drive them. While i love my V8. These twin turbos are something serious with that extra torque in particular.. it seems like we are in another transitional period... well thanks TFL again

Hello TFL! Huge fan and a Patreon supporter. Please take a Nissan Titan to Moab. I got a great deal back in the fall on a brand new Titan Pro4x for 52k after rebates and incentives. It's been a great truck these 1st 18,000 miles. Sure, it's thirsty, but I love it. Being on the East Coast, a Moab trip is not in the cards anytime soon, but I'd love to see how it handles your standard affair out there. Love you guys and all your honest reviews.

Compare the hemi V8 to the hurricane because that’s what most people are upset about but if you want a current generation test, it has to be turbo fours and turbo sixes together in a mix… But you seriously have to do towing as part of it at 75% max load; how do they perform, especially on your Eisenhower loop?

I am in the market for one that will provide leg room, head room and comfort for my brother who is 6 foot 5. Also, I need to make sure my mother can sit higher up than in my current sedan. I’ve heard stories about the USW, stating the quality of these products, are we really buying quality here. A surprise to me but my last truck was a GMC with NA 4.3L 6 cylinder. Night and day performance wise, the turbo so much more powerful yet gets exactly the same mpg in the same driving. Reliability?
