I cook these all the time in my instant pot air fryer. There awesome. I get them at Walmart. I'm single. I get half, my two dogs eat the other half....bone free of course.
I will give that some thought...i am bad to just use the air fry feature due to everyone has that setting and quite honestly I don't think there is a good bit of difference...I think maybe the fan speed is slower on the bake setting but not sure...thanks for watching!!!
I truly love your videos ! Super helpful. I just bought a vortex yesterday and I’m building my confidence and using it skills from your videos . Thank you
Thanks Bobby! I was up in the air about getting this Ninja. I have the dual basket and I loveeeee the broil feature. So I'm sold on this. I have a Yedi, Ninja XL Pro Foodie Oven, Power XL, and 2 Ninja Foodies with Air Crisp... 6 and 8qt. Its not like I need another airfryer but I'm obsessed with the Max Crisp option on the NInja :)
Just found your channel today right after being given the duo crisp, and I'm so glad I found you! Thank you for your awesome videos. My mom and I watched you all day, and we're already big fans :)
I am so glad to hear that... y'all are going to love the duo crisp and I hope you and your mom cook a lot of wonderful recipes together... thank y'all for watching!!!
I can't believe you're doing a Cornish hen...I called a friend earlier who has the Ninja Air Fryer telling him I so wanted to make one...super excited...going to try to see if one is available nearby today-so making a few calls...will get one & get back to you on this... :) !!!
@@JohnSanders Just connected with guy who helps me from Adams Fair Acres in meat dept....he's holding a Cornish Hen & it's on sale....I am learning & doing more than I ever imagined... Thank you !
Kirby thought the Cornish hens sounded great & arrived with two extra... both he and the hens were unexpected surprise...He got you up on my tv (I use Tivo & forget how to get RUclips)..anyway we've got two of them air roasting now with Lowry's & avocado oil spray.. It's so easy..smells delectable...off to get veggies ready & stuffed baked potato. Thanks much!
Take 10seconds off the Lawrys shaking and add a lil garlic and onion powder with that salt and pepper; Those hens would be slammin'! Still, looks good. I loked the way the Ninja hen's skin looked browner and crispier.
I started out looking for a new crock pot.... That was 3 days ago. I got lost in the world of all these new gadgets. I think I'm finally finding my way out. I'm not looking to stop using my stove, oven, or propane grill. Just looking to make a few things easier. I think I've watched most of your videos and would like to thank you. You've done a great job and made it fun to watch. You seem like the right guy to answer a couple of questions I have. Hope you reply. First of all, I believe I've decided to stick with getting a stand alone crock pot. I would also like to get an air fryer to replace my Fry Daddy. I also really really like the Ninja Foodie 5 in 1 grill. I don't think I'm interested in any of the pressure cooking 10 in 1's etc. So whichever one I get I would like to leave it out at all times and I only have the space for 1 of them. My priority is getting rid of the oil deep fryer. Which brings me to my question; How does the Foodie, as an air fryer, compare to the Ninja Max XL? I would mostly be using it for fries, egg rolls, mushrooms, and wings. Maybe fish fillets if it works. I could see the Vortex being better for fillets because of the size of the basket but it seems the Ninja out performs the Vortex. Thanks, Kenneth
If youre not worried about size i would recommend the original ninja grill! It is one of the best for air frying and you have the benefit to bake a larger amount AND also grill.
@@kennethpullen6889 i feel you, i had sold my original grill to purchase their smart xl version. Takes longer to heat, doesnt sear as well and the inside will always look dirty lol. Its well built but if it ever stops working im switching back to the original grill!
For fries I would say instant Pot... it does have a larger cooking area... the Ninja does get hotter though but that extra 50 degrees is not really needed very often except for maybe steak... just my opinion and thanks for watching!!!
I have not... not sure there is very much difference in the machines function between these two settings but it might be worth testing...thanks for watching!!!
I tend to start with the breast side down for about a third of the time (so the breast skin doesn't get overcooked), and then turn over for the rest of the time. Yours look AMAZING THOUGH!!!!! I may just have to air fry a couple of these this weekend with some air fried cauliflower as a side dish! Edit: I wish Lawry's would come out with a lower sodium seasoning salt because it tastes soooooooooooooooooo good! I love the flavor! Just not the saltiness. Edit 2: sorry, I edit a lot. LOL! For those new to the kind of thermometer used here, make sure you aren't going all the way through the breast. If you hit a bone, it's going to register a much higher temperature. Try to get it about in the middle and you should be good. :)
Yes... and I meant to say that it will work in any air fryer... as long as the hen fits which is any air fryer I am aware of... thanks Lew and thanks for watching!!!
Hi great video. I was reading a couple of reviews on amazon. They said there ninja max xl had a burnt rubber smell. Just curious if you experienced that?
Question..... If you had to choose 1 brand over the other, which one would it be? The IP brand basket looks bigger, but the Ninja needs no preheating and darkened the skin a little better. LOVE your carving board. Where did you get it?
I like the ninja a little more due to its higher heat but they are both really good stand alone air fryers... the board is one I've had for a long time and honestly don't remember where I got it... thanks for watching!!!
Cynthia Ryan I feel like the ninja has a more direct heat since it is shaped like a circle and so is the element. And the insta pot one is a square and a fairly big one so it has so disburse it thought the whole thing.
Would you follow the same instructions for ninja appliance with air crisp? I have the pressure cooker and grill, but not the air fryer. I am thinking I would like to try the air crisp mode in the pressure cooker.
Great Video ! Do you think a whole chicken will fit into the regular 4qt ninja air fryer ? Its for 99 at target right now. Otherwise i’ll get the instant pot air fryer for the same price. TIA 💕
It is hard to say...i would think so but I have never tried it... that i remember...lol... sorry for the lame answer but i hope this helps in some way and thanks for watching !!!

Flocala - Even the Low Sodium Lawrys Seasoned Salt is way tooooo salty. I remember it from back in the 1980's and it wasn't anywheres near as salty as it is now. I have a dinner table sized bottle of the Low Sodium and I can only use a small pinch of the stuff and at that, it's too salty. John, y'all might want to find another seasoning with much less sodium. Try Emeril's seasoning. Think you'll find it tastier and your arteries will appreciate the lower sodium. Here are a couple of seasonings that I use besides the Emeril's; 1) Lawrys Perfect BLEND Seasoning and Rub Chicken & Poultry and, 2) Webers Canadian Chicken Seasoning (No MSG). Cheers.
I get that... and I do like salt... I've tried the Lawry's chicken and... quite honestly was not a fan...I have not tried the others but I will say the "Lawry's Season All" is my go to favorite BUT...I will also admit that I have over seasoned with it before and it is easy to do.... but the flavor is undeniable... thanks though for mentioning that... it is somewhat salty... thanks again and thank you for watching!!!
Those look great! I'd pour that fat right back on those hens. Animal fat is not unhealthy, contrary to what we've been taught for decades. It tastes delicious and makes us feel full earlier, so we won't eat as much bread or potatoes, etc., which are the actually unhealthy foods.
I like the Ninja for its 450 degree capability for steaks...etc but I like the Vortex for its size... so i guess it depends but both do a really good job in my opinion...thanks for watching!!!
