- PRhyme 2 is the return of hip hop duo DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9". The album was produced by DJ Premier and were beats composed from AntMan Wonder's production. The album was released on March 16, 2018 on their label PRhyme Records and INgrooves music group. The album has features from 2 Chainz, Big K.R.I.T., CeeLo Green, Dave East, Denaun Porter, Yelawolf, and Roc Marciano. Here is the Dead End Hip Hop album review of PRhyme 2.

PRhyme was album of the year, but PRhyme 2 is one of my favourite albums of all time.

It was good, I thought the first was much better. I think it's cause I prefer adrian younge to antman wonder, also the features on the first were WAYYYYY better, and the beats sounded so similar unlike the first one. I go back to PRhyme 1 very regularly, can't say the same for PRhyme 2.

Love this review & this album. PRhyme 2 was for the culture but has such a mainstream appeal but still hella hip-hop. Royce is in his bag right now.
I disagree that the features were perfect. What made the first PRhyme so amazing were three things, Royce being amazing, Premier being amazing, and amazing features being amazing. This album's features cannot compare with the verses we got from Ab-Soul, Mac Miller, Jay Electronica, ScHoolboy Q, Killer Mike, and the rest of Slaughterhouse. All of these featured verses were amazing on that first album, which was only a 37 minute album and none of these feature's verses were short at all. The features contributed GREATLY to why the first PRhyme was so good. I do not feel that these features lived up to that. Just from those chosen in the first place, even though I like everyone featured, nothing really amazing is done in choice. I was hype for Big K.R.I.T. but he has such a brief verse that does not do too much from the times I heard the track.. Yelawolf, Roc Marciano and Dave East were dope but those three cannot compare to those amazing verses I listed from features on the first PRhyme.
That being said, PRhyme 2: Royce and Preemo are on their A-game all the way, they are phenomenal. Amazing production and rapping. I do love this album. But it is not quite as exciting as the first one for me.

I just bought it on ITunes @12:30pm on 3/30/31!!!! Can’t wait to here the album in its entirety.
I wasn't vibing with half the songs at first, but after a few more listens they grew on me. This album slaps hard. Content wise, I wasn't expecting some deep introspective, complex shit from Royce, just some banging beats and hot bars that I can lift weights to at the gym.
Oh and one more thing, Feefo, stop calling them P-Rhyme, it's Prhyme. Royce even has a line where he's like "This is for the real Gang Starr fans, not the ones who call us P-Rhyme"

Lyrically the craziest album I've heard since Supreme Clientele.

The album is great, but overall the drums are not agressive enough. It's doesn't affect the quality of the beat (in fact, I think Primo outdid himself on the sequel), but Royce really shines on beats like "1 of the Hardest" and "Rock It".

Personally I was disappointed. The beats were too smooth, too polished. The first, especially the deluxe was far better, sonically, rhymes, features.
adrian hazzard I sorta felt the same way after the first listen but it grew on me quite a bit
