Myke went from hating Flacko 6 or 7 years ago to loving his music now....lol the power of creativity and evolution great review fellas surprised me with this one
personally hated it at first, and it did sound onfocused and unfinished to me, then as I kept listening to the album, by like the 5th time it finally clicked and I was able to jump into Rocky's frequency, and I understood what the album was, I lOVE IT NOW.
I agree with Beezy; the album sounds unfocused as _fuck._ It just seems like Rocky is throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks, and not much of it sticks. Normally I love this kind of free, experimental, off-the-beaten-path shit (Death Grips, JPEGMAFIA, Vince Staples, etc.), but the bulk of this record sounds totally random and pointless to me. Not to mention the numerous problems with the mixing.
I'm with Myke (what Ken liked it too!!!!). Unfortunately ASAP was drowned out this summer but I love this project. Rocky to me is brave to completely avoid all the trends on his solo projects. Praise the Lord is so good to me.
One song that you didn't mention but that I find pretty fucking amazing is Hun43rd. That first verse where rocky starts "all year long bruh stuck up in my zone all up by my lonesome" is so perfect, it just gives me chills every time i play it, Dev hynes did fucking awesome sounds on the chorus, it puts me in the whole different mood
Honestly no, I like when artists evolve but rocky really hasn’t. He just lost his touch. This album feels rushed and that’s sad considering it took him 3 years to come out with it
Dude I don't blame them for wanting the old sound....the album is TESTING...it is what it's called. but it was fire...and Mike was right. This album could be Rocky's best work coz he's out of the shadow of hip hop.
Mayham beats that old rocky sound never fully got to hav it’s time it’s was like two albums of absolute bangers and that was his sound! He sound nothing like he rapper I loved for the last 5 years on this project! I’m a massive flacko fan but this one was a miss to me just nothing hit it didn’t feel hit it’s like an album of filler
Whether you like the project or not, the polarizing reaction shows that Rocky is a true artist. You're supposed to challenge and make people feel uncomfortable sometimes.
Myke loves the grooveless, soft, abstract white-boy type 'experimental hip hop'. Live.Love.ASAP was experimental as fuck but actually good. The whole project was hard. so Myke hated, lol
This is so slept on. A$AP’s best project in my opinion. It takes a couple listens but it’s very creative and his flow and rapping hasn’t changed. Same A$AP. I don’t know why people haven’t come around on it yet. Only bad songs are Buck Shots and Call Drops.
I actually liked this a lot. 1. Gunz and Butter 2. Fukk Sleep 3. Black Tux, White Collar 4. Purity 5. Hundr3d My fave tracks. Don't really get the hate. Praise da Lord the most generic song on here(still good) and yet its the only one people say is good. Album wasn't focused on a particular concept or sound so I feel the Testing title was very appropriate.
So if people don't like an album it's hate? Praise da Lord wasn't generic. Not many US rappers feature UK rappers. I only like Fukk Sleep from the songs you listed.
Upful Soul nah. I just see a bunch of people say the albums trash and they havent even listened to it which is riding a hate bandwagon Or they just regurgitate Fantano's review to me rather than bringing in new info. This still sounds like a Rocky album. The beat on Praise da Lord is straight generic flute trap so fym and Stormzy or Skepta been popular in the US plus A$AP been cool with UK artists.
Taylor Sanders Dese', FN, Ruger, Draco Euros, Pounds and Dollars, Pesos Money, hoes and power, Draco Violence, rifle, shotguns, Draco. Glad someone loves gunz and butter as much as me. la flame
Upful Soul just cuz a UK rapper is on a track doesn't make it not generic. Praise Da Lord is the most accessible and generic track on here, which is why everyone loves it.
Darryl Miller yes. I feel like I can hear every song in my head still. The album feels lived-in, welcoming, really puts you in Saba’s world. “I can’t feel your pain...there’s heaven all around me” 🎵
Rocky is one of my favourite artists cause he does what he wants and doesn’t conform to popular sounds and trends right now. He really doesn’t need mainstream success in music cause he already has it in fashion. Awge, under armour, Nike, Adidas, Dior, Gucci, LV, midnight. It’s just insane. Your favourite artist isn’t doing this.
This album was fucking amazing since it dropped I can’t stop playing it the only complaint I had was calldrops like myke said it just really had no purpose on the album but past that I loved it
Care For Me by Saba is one of the best albums this year. It definitely should be reviewed. But it’s probably not since not a lot of people know who Saba is.
I thought I was the only person who fucks with this album heavy. Rocky's been making crazy (not perfect) projects since day 1 and i always appreciate his experimentation. the boy makes experiences
This album grows on you, and rocky been going this route since his last album and the features also if you look at the cozy tapes 2 it was experimental hiphop
I'm not a huge Rocky fan and I haven't heard everything he has done but I did like this album. I didn't like it like Myke, but I did like it. Kinda where Feefo is, that's me. I really liked Distorted Records, A$AP Forever REMIX, Fukk Sleep, Praise The Lord, Buck Shots, OG Beeper and Purity. I think overall I liked the beats more than I liked Rocky on the songs.
the problem is that rocky's live love asap was went way too hard for a first project, so everything after has seemed just "ok" and "alright thats cool i guess". I liked this album and appreciate the experimenting n creativity but i cant help but compare. to me this is a 7, kids turned out fine is fucking heat idc
100% agree. LongLiveASAP was fire top to bottom; i also can't help but compare. Miss his days of doing fire collabs with Q & Danny. The goldies. The angels. The pmws and the wild for the nights. Fukk sleep is my favorite joint on here.
Testing was hard, I’m scared that cause everyone shitted on it he doesn’t go as experimental in the future cause he is one of the most creative artists period
This Kanye's rollout made people ignore this album so much and I love to see you guys bringing it back cause I really liked this album! I've felt really alone cause I didn't see enough people talking about it. Black Tux, White Collar and Buck Shots are my favorite ones.
A lot of Hip-Hop heads limited musical exposure or acceptance to different genre blends is what I think led to the reception. For Rocky to mix Indie Rock, Electronic, Trip-Hop and Rap the way he does on here, and still manage to maintain control over all of those elements is very commendable. The same reason This album is ostracized by many is the same reason artists like Danny Brown, Death Grips and Busdriver remain out of circulation for hip-hop-centric listeners.
I was one of those people who trashed this at first but I listened again last week and man, this album is starting to grow on me. Starting to really love it man.
agree w myke n ken. flacko did not only surprise me based on my expectations for him, but also my expectations for hip hop as a genre. so many good ideas packed into an album with lots of diversity. this project never got stuck on the polish, while being completely blatant about it. love it.
Danny from Michigan and Beezy appreciates that, but Beezy appreciates the fact that Danny is a TALENTED artist from Michigan. I don’t think Beezy likes Danny just because he’s from Detroit.
Ya'lls energy is just the best, even though I have different opinions with the rap that I personally enjoy, I still respect ya'lls opinion even though ya'll buggin sometimes but all out of love tho you guys are the funniest!
I'm glad I finally found some people that enjoyed this project. A lot of reviewers were either mixed or just slandered the album and you guys are the 1st to have some great insight and were more in detail with what you guys liked and didn't like which I respect. A lot of reviewers were very vague with their review and I feel were being a little close minded.
All of these are forgettable trash, y'all think these albums are them at the top of their game? This whole year has been in clickbait shambles for Rap. Nobody is doing anything legitimate anymore, general hype for Rap albums decreasing every year at this rate.
I feel like their opinions on hip hop have changed a lot since those days. They need to listen to it again a couple of times and maybe it will click. I assure you Ken from back then wouldn’t like TESTING project at all.
404. You high? His last 3 projects was good. His last album he talked about his rape case. This one he got back on. His gangsta shit. How is that the same?
Mr Awesome quote me where I said they weren't good. Sonically they sound the same, it's the same production to me. Thats why I said it *sounds the same. Not the lyrics are the same. Man mfs cannot read
My biggest disappointment of the year best part of the album was Frank Ocean on Purity... had the best verse on the album. I'll give it another listen though.. i hated his last album for like 7 months but it eventually clicked and it's one of if not my favorite album ever in hiphop just hit me in life at the perfect time.
idk bout complicated but it's always something different i was never a fan of the first mixtape but everything else afterwards i enjoyed besides this at least for now i have a strong feeling at some point i'll love it the same way you do.
They all have pretty good takes, I think this album grew alot on people. Asap also had the old school experimental thing going on before and testing was just a collection of trap bangers
Ken liking this album that much is as wild as fantano giving KSG a 10, but I agree with both of them
ksg is at least a 9, the 10 was not that suprising, testing on the other hand was mediocre at best
I agree with ksg being 10 this album is an 8 to 8.5 for me
Bruh.. Just say "Kids See Ghost"
brownguy903 well said
LØRD MCD facts. Niggas made me look up KSG and now I’m mad.
It's funny when Mike calls Kenn old Knowing damn well he sits next to him at bingo night
That shit is always hilarious because he's like 2 years younger lol
Myke went from hating Flacko 6 or 7 years ago to loving his music now....lol the power of creativity and evolution great review fellas surprised me with this one
Christopher Adams nah this album was trash I been a fan of his music as well and that only had 2 good songs
sk8kidize hating
sk8kidize high af bud
Christopher Adams I loved his music and this shit trash imo. ALLA and LLA were amazing
DEXTER A YUH OUU A WHAT ALLA is still his best work
This album has aged so well
I disagree I still think it’s just okay at best and I love all of Rockys other albums
True
No it hasn't lol, nobody talks about it
@@user-tb9sq5po6zI just listened to it for the very first time and I actually like this album
Fantastic project
Most stacked summer in DEHH history sheesh it's been multiple reviews a week
Juan Boss bout to be a surgical summer 💯
And albums of mid-year should be coming out soon!
This is one of your better discussions due to the half and half opinions, perfect review
personally hated it at first, and it did sound onfocused and unfinished to me, then as I kept listening to the album, by like the 5th time it finally clicked and I was able to jump into Rocky's frequency, and I understood what the album was, I lOVE IT NOW.
"This must be on some Laurel and Yandy shit" 😂😂😂😂
I'm gonna use that from now on when I don't like some shit LOL
😂😂😂😂😂 I'm done
W
Myke _liked_ this?
Damn.
TheAndrewj96 Mike liked the Damn album? 😁
I agree with Beezy; the album sounds unfocused as _fuck._ It just seems like Rocky is throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks, and not much of it sticks. TheAndrewj96 isnt this exactly what Fantano said?
Taylor Sanders Maybe. But I had these problems with the album right after listening to it, days before his review came out.
+TheAndrewj96 Yeah, I was a little bit taken aback by that...
dead end killing it with the uploads!! great job guys
"I have no feeling of bump"
Malcolm MacDonell when you 8 and you’re trying to talk music with your older brother’s homies lol
I'm with Myke (what Ken liked it too!!!!). Unfortunately ASAP was drowned out this summer but I love this project. Rocky to me is brave to completely avoid all the trends on his solo projects. Praise the Lord is so good to me.
This album got better over time imo
Anthony Witherow it did, I had to listen to it 15 times in order to gather my thoughts on it
Yeah you right really disliked this wjen it came out but it holds up.so much better than i expected
It’s one of those albums I keep going back to. And I still find new things I love about it.
Yeezus and Testing have a cult following.
It's like you either love or hate it.
FACTS
Yeah fr that track sounded like a modern version of his LiveLove stuff with clams
How do you even pronounce that tracks name
damn Myke loved Testing so much he even did Rocky's windex laugh @ 9:07 lmaooo
limeadenectar underrated comment
I would definitely love to hear an ASAP Rocky and Schoolboy Q album
mistahmst i love it when Q, Rocky & Danny Brown collaborate
Been craving that album since 2013
Q don't fw Rocky anymore
Johnny Abstract untrue
Thats a dream project. Fuck an ep would be fine too.
This review alone epitomizes why I love this channel
Damn three days in a row
I don't know how I feel about this album. All I know is that 'Praise The Lord' is that joint right there!
+Della Yassine Also "Tony Tone" is very good...
Favorite song
Hun43rd is low key the best song
"Tony Tone" and "Guns and Butta" were also dope, but that's about all I could do from that album.
Dxxminique it’s great
Note to self: be more persistent and we might get that Saba review.
Yeah c'mon, your fans want it!
Agreed
So guuud
that album is damn near flawless, a step up from the bucket list if u ask me & I loved that release too!
I hope they do
I loved it, personally think that people that want old Rocky’s sound haven’t moved on from that.
Raisean W exactly they letting the old sound cloud their judgment I really loved this album
Honestly no, I like when artists evolve but rocky really hasn’t. He just lost his touch. This album feels rushed and that’s sad considering it took him 3 years to come out with it
I’ve listened to better experimental albums
Dude I don't blame them for wanting the old sound....the album is TESTING...it is what it's called.

Myke is Asap Rocky big brother, that's why.
Purity one of his best songs out, the way he opened his heart and put all this emotion on the song is crazy
CALLING IT NOW. MYKE WILL LIKE THIS
Turntables Two He did! 😭
Turntables Two yaaah
Damn. good call
I mean of course he did. He loves experimental hip hop
Myke loves the grooveless, soft, abstract white-boy type 'experimental hip hop'. Live.Love.ASAP was experimental as fuck but actually good. The whole project was hard. so Myke hated, lol
One of the most surprising reviews I’ve seen

Ken and Myke like this?? I'm shocked yo! Remember when DEHH covered ASAP's first mixtape and Myke shitted on him? Ha! Classic DEHH moment!
That shit is crazy seeing how way better his first mixtape is. Especially if you're a Wu-Tang/Mobb Deep/36 Mafia fan.
X Live Love ASAP was WAY better than Testing
I'm surprised but not shocked (if that makes sense) that Myke liked this album that much.
I actually liked this a lot.
1. Gunz and Butter
2. Fukk Sleep
3. Black Tux, White Collar
4. Purity
5. Hundr3d

I agree with Ken he is getting better and appreciate him not playing it safe
Frank Ocean and Kid Cudi had the best verses on the album
Hun43rd is my absolute favorite track on this [live love asap vibes]
Great album
Lanier Burton my favourite song on the album and one of my favourite rocky songs. Blood orange elevates it to another level.
pojomon1234 dude his vocals on that track are just phenomenal/ out of this world !
Frank Ocean has the best verse on the album no cap
MF West it was aight
never take a person who says ''no cap'' serious
Nah Gunz n Butter had the best verse and it was from Rocky
REVIEW SABA CARE FOR ME
ED yo I saw him in San Diego, his music is really underrated
Best album of the year. That is an amazing project.
Darryl Miller yes. I feel like I can hear every song in my head still. The album feels lived-in, welcoming, really puts you in Saba’s world. “I can’t feel your pain...there’s heaven all around me” 🎵
Man...I’ve been waiting on that!
They never reviewed BLP
Rocky is one of my favourite artists cause he does what he wants and doesn’t conform to popular sounds and trends right now. He really doesn’t need mainstream success in music cause he already has it in fashion. Awge, under armour, Nike, Adidas, Dior, Gucci, LV, midnight. It’s just insane. TVkob this is why he’s my favourite artist rn
Album was fire, Gunz and Butter definitely BANGS!
Just stopping by to say this album aged beautifully to me it’s a amazing album
This album was fucking amazing since it dropped I can’t stop playing it the only complaint I had was calldrops like myke said it just really had no purpose on the album but past that I loved it
THANK YOU. Testing was so disrespected, loved this album.

oh really, i get it tho. to me live love is a 9 and ALLA is like a 8.3 or some shit lol
100% agree. LongLiveASAP was fire top to bottom; i also can't help but compare. Miss his days of doing fire collabs with Q & Danny. The goldies. The angels. The pmws and the wild for the nights. Fukk sleep is my favorite joint on here.
As soon as track one came on, it was already a classic.
Bruh naw ALLA is his best album ever. For me this is flawless album
Shout out to the unspoken hero who stands behind the camera. That geeza runs these videos and production is dope
Been waitin all day god damn lol. Keep it up! I gotta agree with be and rod on this one!
I'M LOVING THESE BACK TO BACK REVIEWS
very surprised Ken loved this album
Myke and Rod had a great chat about cohesiveness, great conversation with a happy ending
I’m with myke with this one
This is the kind of review that makes me love DEHH. Different perspectives all over the place and it’s awesome!
Notification squad right on time
A lot of Hip-Hop heads limited musical exposure or acceptance to different genre blends is what I think led to the reception. Experimental af....I like it.
YESSS!!! I waited for such a long time for this. Regardless of opinion,I'm happy y'all reviewed this. Thank you Myke I love this project too
I legitimately forgot all about this album😂😂
The Pusha T and Drake beef overshadowed it
Benji Franklins Music and Kanye albums and Cardi B
kanye albums idk bout cardi B....
I listened to it exactly twice right after it came out and I haven't listened to it since.
Greatest Ever its a Drake Line since they both from NY, Cardi B's hype totally overshadowed Rocky's album.
Y’all are CRANKING out these reviews I like it
Gunz n butta is flames on me 🔥🔥
I was one of those people who trashed this at first but I listened again last week and man, this album is starting to grow on me. Starting to really love it man.
I love this album.
Thank you been waiting on this review!
The whole concept of the album is testing different sounds its not supposed to be focused
Thank you Sir!!!!
Mike’s T.I. impression had me weak.
“RIP ASAP Yeauh”
MYKE IS PREACHING
agree w myke n ken. flacko did not only surprise me based on my expectations for him, but also my expectations for hip hop as a genre. so many good ideas packed into an album with lots of diversity. this project never got stuck on the polish, while being completely blatant about it. love it.
Beezy never likes anything😔😭
He likes experimental shit though cuz he loves Atrocity Exhibtion
@@shaanraval5374 he liked it because it's Danny Brown.. he from Michigan... Gotta support your town.. lol
Unless it’s like black thought or something that sounds like it’s straight from the 90’s. He typically won’t like it.
Danny from Michigan and Beezy appreciates that, but Beezy appreciates the fact that Danny is a TALENTED artist from Michigan. I don’t think Beezy likes Danny just because he’s from Detroit.
Finally someone giving this album the praise it deserves. I loved it definitely one of my top albums of the year
Underrated album
Wow this review discussion was great!!! This is why I am subscribed to DEHH!!!!
TESTING is fire
Dope tshirt Beezy! Classic EPMD with the DEHH.
Finally I been waiting...
Ya'lls energy is just the best, even though I have different opinions with the rap that I personally enjoy, I still respect ya'lls opinion even though ya'll buggin sometimes but all out of love tho you guys are the funniest!
Gunz n Butter was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm glad I finally found some people that enjoyed this project. A lot of reviewers were either mixed or just slandered the album and you guys are the 1st to have some great insight and were more in detail with what you guys liked and didn't like which I respect. A lot of reviewers were very vague with their review and I feel were being a little close minded.
Bout damn time
These regular uploads are amazing
Myke's bugging. This is better than Daytona and Kids See Ghosts? Nah
AlexLong1000 I don't think he was talking about Daytona. I thought he meant the ghosts one and Kanye's solo album
+Jude K. Nah, still I don't buy it. "Kids See Ghosts" is way better than "Testing"
All of these are forgettable trash, y'all think these albums are them at the top of their game? This whole year has been in clickbait shambles for Rap.
Nobody is doing anything legitimate anymore, general hype for Rap albums decreasing every year at this rate.
AlexLong1000 I’m pretty sure he meant ye and nasir
Yes imo
this is a great video. 10/10 great convo, great inputs, great smiles regardless of whoever they’re talking about
Maybe it’s so good you can’t explain it
I did not expect Ken and Myke to be all over this. This shit was hella entertaining!
The biggest slept on album this year🤦🏽♂️
This is one of the best reviews you guys have done in a looong time!
Hip Hop heads don't know Asap by T.I
DEHH putting in work with all these reviews. Great
I don't get how they liked this but not LiveLoveA$AP
Dudes are kinda clueless lmao. Live.Love.ASAP is the most hip hop shit Rocky's done.
X they have different opinions they’re not clueless
I feel like their opinions on hip hop have changed a lot since those days. They need to listen to it again a couple of times and maybe it will click. I assure you Ken from back then wouldn’t like TESTING project at all.
You guys are killing it with the uploads, thank you!
I need that Freddie Gibbs. That Freddie mixtape. That shit is flames
Mr Awesome meh, I need that bandana. Really no point in listening to new Freddie unless it's with Madlib. All his new shit sounds the same
Nah
Roman Apollo. Why not?
DEHH boomin with the uploads.
True. This was overhated. Failed experiments here and there, but this shit has BANGERS.
These types of reviews where everyone is on different side. I love these!! But it’s all to the music to get these kind of discussions haha So great
My biggest disappointment of the year best part of the album was Frank Ocean on Purity... had the best verse on the album. I'll give it another listen though.. i hated his last album for like 7 months but it eventually clicked and it's one of if not my favorite album ever in hiphop just hit me in life at the perfect time.
Greatest Ever its a Drake Line I agree I need Purity with just Frank.
Greatest Ever its a Drake Line just shows how complicated Rocky’s work is. This is amazing to me.
idk bout complicated but it's always something different i was never a fan of the first mixtape but everything else afterwards i enjoyed besides this at least for now i have a strong feeling at some point i'll love it the same way you do.
DEHH blessing us at this point
If ya'll doing reviews late is there still hope for the new Saba record? Best album this year so far imo.
They all have pretty good takes, I think this album grew alot on people. Asap also had the old school experimental thing going on before and testing was just a collection of trap bangers
Fukk sleep is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my life.
+scottiedoesntknow1 Do you have a rich knowledge of music..?
scottiedoesntknow1 that’s a reach
Fka twigs is the sole reason I love it. Wish she was more present on it
MrTjcftw appreciate you brother
I’m gonna go back and listen to it again then lol I’ve been stuck on brotha man
3 days in a row. Y'all are the best
