- Friend of the show, Denzel Curry, released a new album this year titled TA1300 (pronounced Taboo) on July 27, 2018. The album was released on PH Recordings and Loma Vista Recordings. TA1300 is the second studio album and is a follow up to Imperial. TA1300 has features from GoldLink, J.I.D., JPEGMAFIA, Nyyjerya, Twelve'len, ZillaKami, and Billie Eilish. Other than the tone. Jid an kendrick have no similarities. Their flow is different, delivery, lyricism etc.

Obviously kendrick has influenced him but to me he is not at all a "new kendrick" in terms of his style. And in terms of being the biggest rapper in hiphop? It's a little bit early to say, don't you think?

I honestly loved Imperial and found it to be my favorite album of 2016. TA13OO is currently my favorite album of this year and there really ain't too much competition apart from Veteran and RR2. Can't wait to see his next project. Him releasing this kind of project at 23 is insane when you think about how Kendrick released Section.80 at 24. I personally believe that if Denzel could further polish his concepts, then he could release an all time of this generation. His flow is insane compared to just about any other rapper alive, and his slick wordplay is something that you don't find everywhere. That first verse on SIRENS displayed his ability to write extended metaphors and be able to build momentum in a track, which is something that takes skill. Cannot wait to hear his next project, I've been blown away since it dropped

The music video for CLOUT COBAIN | CLOUT CO13A1N will tell you everything about this album. It shows Denzel Curry in a circus and the owner is making him dance around for entertainment. In the circus they selling lean, face tattoos and xans in hot dogs. Then Curry goes live on his phone and sees everyone laughing to realize he is in a TABOO. So he shoots himself because he thinks thats the only way to get out of their state of mind of being imprisoned in a lifestyle. That is what I took from the theme of TABOO. Great review DEHH!!
I feel like this release is a celebration of both where he has come from and whats to come. Its moody but its got something for everyone,I feel. Denzel's growth as a human and rapper is showcased beautifully through fury and sincerity and it fucking hits you in the greatest way. He is him,whether you fuck with it or not. He's here to stay and now he's in the front where I feel he belongs. Lets also note his great choice in features (damnpeggy.avi). Bless DEHH. Bless Denzel. Thanks for the review,my dudes.

I saw Denzel Curry last year at a free show. He played football with his fans before the show then he performed for over an hour with no backing vocals. And then he played football again. I don’t think the man is human and he should be investigated, perhaps ULT was the name of a secret super soldier testing act to increase adrenaline and for some reason he went into music. I guess. Idk. Keep asking questions.

I hope that's not the concept because that's really trying to force a concept. I personally didn't like the album but everyone giving it praise is making me about to go back to it. I hope it grows on me because I love when albums do that

To me this album deserves a grammy award. If he doesn't get it, at least give him the nomination. This album deserves to be in the AOTY conversation. This was his most ambitious and different work yet. I personally loved this album. My favorite act is the first one because of it's diversity. Easily a 8.5-9/10. Keep up Denzel 🔥🔥💯👌🏾💪🏾

Da Bossman nah man taboo is his best work by far and let's be honest he is a "threat" because of a passionate fanbase not skill yet. Tbh they aren't even in the same lane, so this is one of the competitions that won't ever work.

To answer the questions on Tom Hardy:
Taboo is a series that Tom Hardy stars in about a man who faked his death only to return years later to take over his now deceased fathers shipping company. The clown does not make an appearance here.
Tom Hardy plays a clown/performer in his 2008 movie ‘Bronson’ where Tom Hardy plays a man in prison for a robbery but is a loose cannon and pretty much loses himself in solitary confinement.
I don’t think any of those things have a connection to Denzel’s album though. I imagine the ‘Taboo’ that Denzel speaks of is the truth of what the music industry really is and what it perpetuates on our youth and our community. It’s taboo to call out the bullshit so nobody will listen to you, aka how he feels he’s been treated his entire career. Just a hunch.

Yeah there’s not really a connection between this and the show with Tom Hard. The face pant shit was African tribal black magic stuff and the show in general was about him having a political battle with the east India company.

J.I.D stood head and shoulders above the other XXL Freshman this year. His flows, diversity, ideas, and execution really impressed me and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow as an artist.

Imperial was so mediocre. Every track was just aggressive rap over hard trap. There's nothing wrong with that but there's nothing special about it either.
