My most recent dream: you built a train that had apartments on the inside as I know you don’t like to build any residential buildings. The catch is that none of the furniture was attached to the inside of the carriages so that all of the furniture and minifigs were flying around the cars!
that "bar" on the bar car would block the passageway to the vestibule to the next car, if that were used in real practice. all bar cars use a bar on one side of the car instead of completely blocking the thoroughfare to the vestibule. in order to remedy this I understand you wouldn't be able to use the "leviathan" plates, however on the walls you could potentially make use of "Studs Not On Top" text building, like used on those creator building sets.
Well, the bar will be at the very front of the train right behind the tenders so there wouldn't be anything to get to behind the bar. It _is_ a compromise but I think it's still plausible within universe.
@@witerabid yeah, at the time of watching I hadnt understood that the car would be positioned there. though, if that "staff area" is supposed to be for the other staff through the passenger cars, they would have to vault over the bar in order to get to the passenger section of the car, and to the other cars lol

Absolutely love the design of the wagons, especially the end one - so steampunky I would only use a golden tile with handle to hold the back sign instead of the dark gray one

So beautifull. I do think the back door on the balcony wagon needs the gold door handle if you have the pieces for it. The surprise wagon might be a sleep wagon.
If you only put a one stud border on the outsides of the Leviathan signs, you could squeeze in one more window right where the barman stands to peek in and see him a bit more from the outside.
Both cars are marvellous! One tiny suggestion for improvement: at the end of the balcony car, to attach the white star logo, you could put the 1x2 dark bluish gray plate with handle not onto the top of the curved balcony railings but below them, i.e. below the dark green 3x3 curved plates, and the 2x2 plate with the white star would then extend upwards. This would keep the top of the balcony railings nice and clean.
It's a fantastic build video. I love the look of the bar car and the train name. I was looking and think that you could move the man back to the doorway as if he had to grab some cherries from a storage location but then you could see him in the door window just for fun. No one wants to be hidden when they are the most entertaining guy on the train. Just an idea.. As always Thank you for the great build.
Two more awesome builds for this train! I think the bar car is a great idea, and the design came out really well! The observation end car looks very elegant also.
They look good. Others have already suggested improvements to the tail banner, so I'll just suggest putting green, forward-facing lights with the red lights so the engineer can look back and see if the train is still with them, even on a dark night.
I think you should attach the grey piece on the back to just below the green half circle and then flip the symbol up from below instead of down from above. Preserves the simplicity of the back railing.
Amazing build, I really love the carriage with balcony. Your city is going to look even more fantastic with the flying notchman going around Brick Nottingham!
@29:44 For a added touch maybe try to add a red brake light or a transparent Brick under the white piece roof and it will be a added third brake light at the end above your little sign. The idea came from The Polar Express end coach with a observation thing at the end.
certainly need that door handle. Just looks like a wall without it, and would match the other doors. Also would like to see lamps on the tables in the carriages. This is a very nice build and my favourite of all your train creations. Well done...again!!!
@@RobinHoodBricks Yeah some rail fans can get crazy. 😂Though I am totally biased towards American trains, I have a love for all of them so I really liked your design. Thanks for making videos!

Anyway, I'm back now, and I'm glad because these MOCs are looking really cool. Keep it up Robin, and have a good rest of your day if you see this!
Absolutely lovely carriages, the design is very inspiring! With the baggage car you plan to build, I was wondering if there was going to be a space inside it for the guard/conductor to work? Essentially a small compartment with things like a seat, brake lever etc where the guard stays when not checking tickets. Baggage cars were sometimes called "Full Brake" coaches as they had no seating and were where the guard controlled the handbrake and monitored the train, so giving them a small workspace like this would add a little extra realism to the design.
Speechless Robin.. what a classy and fun train. It's going to be a Leviathan indeed when completed and rolling around your city! And as for train buffs, they should check out modeltrain video's.. 😉 Thanks for another marvelous video mate!
For the observation car you could put the chairs on swivels and pose some mini figures like the are watching the scenery and hang that thing in the back from the bottom instead from the top. Otherwise the whole thing is very good
Awesome Robin ! That bar carriage is great (it reminds me slightly of the bar in the train station because of the man in the process of making a cocktail )and Levaithan is a really cool name 😀😀😀
You could replace part of one of the cream stripes to show a "First Class" section or use different colours for each carriage. You could also add letters and numbers by the doors for each carriage denoting A, B, C etc and an individual unit number for identification to add a bit of detail.
An idea for the back of the aquarium cabinet- having the top level background with a picture of the city or a microbuild representation/ mosaic like the mario thing to suggest the city in the distance. Leviathan could also be the manufacturer or brand- perhaps of a business somewhere in the city (represented or not). I really dig the recessed signs and curved bar counters. A shame the bar section has low visability- maybe some kind of sky light could be put over that part of the mid-section of the roof while keeping most of the roof profile? The gold balcony looks sharp. If the back lights cause collision issues maybe we can mount them to something on the bottom of the balcony overhang. Would we want to sub the back grey steps with something else on the balcony car?
I may need to go back and watch through the whole series, but I can't wait to see it complete, I may borrow some of the design to pull behind a crocodile, shame the set got retired so soon
Definitely like today's builds. The entire train to date is very sweet! I was thinking that making small gold pillars on both sides might look good and add a little more detail to the bar car.
you should replace the grey handle bar holding the star detail with part 48336 in gold, and make another part of pillars to go by the back door it looks like it's al the weight of the canopy is on those two pilars and looks VERY cartoony. for the tail lamps look too much like a car's backing lights. Use part 4070 in tan. So they look like TRUE tail lamps And for staff have Carl the Conductor or Gerald the Guard
Hey Robin, if you wanted to give your bar worker more space you could remove the 2x2 half tile/studded plate remove for a standard 1x2 tile. Also at the end of your observation car I thought you could add some windows next to the door to get even more of a 360 view, as well as it is more accurate that way.
Honestly, this seems like it'd be a gem of a preserved engine, all things considered. Might be interesting to eventually add a few alternative carriages, or maybe have an 'abandoned' carriage in these veins on the track that branches off from the points. Alternatively, given the inspiration, maybe have a dead body in one of the carriages. So that there's a murder on the Brick Nottingham Express.
As always, awesome builds :-) Comments for the Bar Car - if you put lights inside the car it would proberbly help in actually seeing the barman... Comments for the Balcony Car - wouldn't it be even better to attach the Star at the end underneath the green round plate instead of on top of the ornate fence?
I will. I have a Supermarket and Restaurant ready to go, almost. I just can't leave the train hanging. Also Bugle to finish and Fairground stuff too of course!
Wow I really do love the design of these carriages. Brilliant job Robin! I think the bar car is my favorite as well but both are amazing. One amendment I only could think of is to change the logo on the back of the observation car to a stickeref part with the crown on it. I think you could use a few more staff also for the other carriages. If I had to guess what the next one would be is a sleeper/club car? Maybe even have a look alike james bond minifigure getting a martini at the bar with a beautiful lady minifigure. I know you wouldn't beable to see them much but hey it's in there and makes it more complete. Fantastic video my friend keep up the great work
Like the way it looks especially the balcony car. One question that I have is why then yellow plates on the boogies. Black might hide better. It looked like that yellow peg was quite visible sticking up in the floor in the balcony.
Great job as always! The gray piece holing the logo on the balcony car sticks out a bit. What if that piece was placed below the balcony holding the logo vertically instead of hanging it? Also, is there a way to extend the domed roof just a stud more so it lined up with the end of the balcony better?
I tried extending the balcony one or even bringing in the bottom but it looks worse than the current situation. Also this way adds to the visibility of the occupants!
Great builds! The roof of the observation car not reaching the end of the fence bugs me though and sad that you can't physically walk through the bar carriage to get to others, but these are some great builds nonetheless
Well the bar carriage will be at one extreme end so nowhere to walk through to. I considered making the roof one longer but it looked different to all the others. Standardisation beat overhang!
These are both _really_ beautiful! I have always been a fan of the sort of end cars that have a big balcony or panoramic view window that you could stand or sit at and just watch the world disappear behind you. I'm still a bit upset that I didn't have the sort of money to buy the Santa Fe train back in the day... The carriages were basically plain gray but the details were really nice and as a whole train it just looked really cool. Lego trains usually suffer from the need to have as many different things as possible on one train and as a result they always look like a toy. Like your cargo train, for example. It is just the sort of train you expect to be a bit unrealistic and to have some funny scenes on it. But this... this is something else! The Leviathan (great name btw. and very fitting since it _is_ a giant snake curling around with the track - granted, a _Land_ Leviathan, but maybe in universe it travels up and down the coast or something) actually looks like a somewhat realistic train. It's more a model train than a toy and the uniform design of the carriages really gives it a very sleak look. I didn't know 6-stud-wide trains could look this good. Please don't hate me for this, but I _do_ have one little amendment.. 🙈 That railing is so nice all around but the big clip for the logo breaks the atmosphere. Perhaps it would look better if it was attached from the bottom and on a smaller bracket instead of a bulky hinge. 🙈
I will never hate suggestions. I don't have to take them after all. I agree it's a really classy looking train. I was very proud of it on LDD so I'm glad that's transferred into the end product and people agree with me!
@@RobinHoodBricks Well, I can only reiterate: if I suggest changes it's only because what you do inspired me to the point that I actually thought about how I would do it. I've really been trying to keep the changes that would require a lot of work or a complete redesign to myself though... XD And once again: You should be really proud of this design. I already thought so for the first two carriages, but now with the more specialised ones it really starts to shine! Getting it to look so coherent is fairly difficult to do. I'm actually now trying to figure out how I can incorporate a train into my city... There isn't really enough room for an actual loop but there might be enough for a section of track between two tunnels. And the fact that I'm actually thinking about how I can manage it is in part your doing. ;)
Haha, you're very welcome. You're also right that a coherent design across many similar units is quite difficult and time consuming but the result is greater than the sum of the parts!

Just wait for the next part!
Another nice informative video. Beautiful work Robin!
Much appreciated!
Very nice. Hope you can also put a Hercules Poirot and the Murder on the Orient Express setup.
I have a bowler hat picked out already!
The quality of your builds is outstanding. Marvelous job!
Much appreciated!
Looks like a classic metro car from the 1910s!
There is one on the Great central near you. A converted B R Mark one.
Interesting!
You should be using that second black cap head for a Hercule Poirot minifig
I have a bowler hat!
They look fabulous I love the colours
Make class numbers on the door windows like the 10233
I think they're carriage numbers as they go up to ten but I'll see what I have!
Very neat train
Thank you very much!
I hope you'll be doing another building soon. I would like to see that. You have enough trains and carriages by now 😅
Fantastic video my friend keep up the great work
Such a beautiful build. Love it.
Rather fabulous✨
Yeah
Like the way it looks especially the balcony car. One question that I have is why then yellow plates on the boogies. Black might hide better. It looked like that yellow peg was quite visible sticking up in the floor in the balcony.
Black ones are about ten times the price, haha. Maybe just for that back balcony where it shows up a little more!
I didn’t realize there was that much of a price difference between them.
The main reason that I watch your videos is to watch these train videos they are also why I subed
Great job as always!
The gray piece holing the logo on the balcony car sticks out a bit. What if that piece was placed below the balcony holding the logo vertically instead of hanging it? Also, is there a way to extend the domed roof just a stud more so it lined up with the end of the balcony better?
Agree. That piece does come in gold too
I tried extending the balcony one or even bringing in the bottom but it looks worse than the current situation. Also this way adds to the visibility of the occupants!
Leto should make this entire train a set
Awesome supplement to this already fantastic combination. 2👍👍up .
Thanks for liking it!
@@RobinHoodBricks Ah right makes sense! I shall continue catching up on these videos as annoyingly, school is online again.......
XD
And once again: You should be really proud of this design.
I think you should have a minifiger flying off the back.
Oh no!
Great job
Suggestion put brown pieces in one. The tenders to be wood some trains ran on wood and this one looks kinda like one that did
I think you’re going to modify one of the passenger carriages into a pink and purple friends themed one to cater to your love for the theme 😁
How did you know? Lol!
i love the observation car! i think it'd look better if you moved the end roof and pillars one stud forward though.
Looks fantastic Robin
These sort of balconies are called the Observation Deck
I should really dig up parts for and rebuild my My Own Train from when I was a kid tbh
You should. If you have some of them they are worth quite a lot!
@@RobinHoodBricks Im not interested in the money, really, just want to have the set built again. maybe do something like you are
