Axel does have a rather terrible friendship record now that think about it... -best friends with Saix, then drifted apart and became enemies -friends with Xion, ended up having her very existence ripped out of his memory -best friends with Roxas, later on fought him out of rage and they became enemies -became friends with Sora, blew himself up shortly afterwards. But hey, at least now him as Lea might have better luck, right?
The "who will I have ice cream with" line isn't as ridiculous as people think it is. Someone to have ice cream with is what Roxas thinks of as a friend. He's basically saying "who will be my friend now?"

The line can be understand at a later glance but at a first point view it should have been something different to where the audience/player could have felt the impact a lot more

Also, return of the single most infuriating and persistent of all Xehanorts/merged forms of any characters, including Terra-Xehanort and Ventus/Vanitas: Riku-(Xehanort? Ansem? Is it still okay to call him Ansem now? Because we know he's not Ansem...)
And Sora's voice actor is Haley Joel Osment :P And, holy shit, Christopher Lee is the voice actor of Ansem the Wise /DiZ I knew I'd heard those voices somewhere, just couldn't point them out :P
Christopher Lee voiced DiZ/Ansem the Wise in the original, but not the remastered version. Corey Burton voiced him in the remastered version of 358/2 Days, and has voiced him since Birth by Sleep was released. The portion of 358/2 Days in which DiZ/Ansem the Wise spoke were even redubbed, for some unexplained reason. They could have kept Lee's lines alone and still used Burton's voice for the added scenes that were not previously voiced.

Axel sounds so much more of a sad, lonesome character in this game than all the others he's appeared in, and it really shows he's a character with so many dimensions. I wish they made an alternate version of Axel's battle theme that sounded more sad/dreary for this game. D=

That's only because Xion's appearance is different to anyone who sees her because of all that replica crap and so on. She is 'faceless', portrayed by having the hood up till a person gets to a certain point, don't remember how or why. Roxas can see her for who she is because he was closer or whatever, but Axel could not for whatever reason. Same how Xigbar saw her as Ventus.
As the person above said, it's an intentional carryover from the original, where people pointed out the same thing. Her face was what others projected on it - in Axel and Roxas saw her as she is. Most others didn't see her with a face at all

I feel like it's always going to be a running gag that Roxas never makes it to the beach. Between never getting to the beach in KH2 and never going to the beach in Days, it seems to be one of the things that makes him the opposite of Sora. His connection to Sora probably is what causes Roxas and Xion to love the beach and the sound of the waves. *Spoilers* . . . . Not to mention that both Xion and now Roxas have entirely subsumed into Sora's personality as of DDD, meaning that Sora is now technically himself and Roxas at once. Xion, on the other hand, doesn't exist at all anymore.

If you see the ending where Ansem the wise was talking to Aqua, he mentioned Sora saving those from "their hurt." It shows not only Ventus, Terra, and Namine, it also shows Roxas and Xion, hinting that their return is possible and this time they could be their own person independent of Sora's own persona. Nevertheless, I think you could be right, although I hope to God you aren't because, again, that'd be anticlimactic, haha.
2:38:04 When Roxas's voice wavers on the "no" as he suddenly remembers is what really gets the waterworks flowing for me. The one word is enough to rip my heart out and stomp it into the ground.
You know, thinking about it... There isn't really a happy ending in the kingdom hearts games so far. 1 left with sora riku and kairi split up, chain left sora memoryless and in a deep sleep, obviously Days was a tragedy through and through only rivaled by Birth By Sleep, 3D wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either with Xehanort's plan about to come full circle and Sora left without having become a master. Only 2 has a happy ending and even then it's kind of marred with the knowledge that Xemnas was never really killed, just temporarily set back. This is a sad ass game series for one so light hearted!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like it a lot. I think it adds a lot of depth and emotion to the series as a whole. I mainly think it's interesting that a game series that seems so light hearted and cheerful has endings that are very much the opposite.
Epic Mahser Roxas story might be sad because of his ties with sora. His biggest problem is why the key chose him and the fact that he can't accept his being a nobody
I think Roxas is supposed to be the inverse of Sora ya know? Roxas is the boy that was never to exsist and had to go back to where he came from... He has feelings and as time goes on starts to draw on some of Sora's latent abilities such as using 2 keyblades and such.. Which I wonder since all these abilities are fueled by anger and or fear I wonder if Sora truly will ever posses them himself... I mean without of a outside force such as drive items and such.
That was definitely a questionable choice of dialogue. I can imagine what they meant by it, but the direct context of the line is just too out of place.
Caine Ojeda it might sound odd but to roxas the whole eating an ice cream was a bonding moment, something he held very dear to him and pretty much all he knows. to him the ice cream comment was something huge, it meant a lot to him. the line sounds weird but its feeling its dead-on.
Krimzon_452 I totally agree. To Roxas, a friend is someone who will have ice cream with him. In that sense, the line "who else will I have ice cream with" is the same as him saying "who else will be my friend?" since Roxas no longer considers Axel a friend, seeing as the red-head was a part of the organization that left him completely in the dark regarding his true identity. Also, this line might have sounded better in Japanese, seeing as the language/culture tends to use symbolism more.
I know that Roxas and Xion are technically the same person, BUT FORGIVE ME, I SHIP THEM SO HARD!!! And I really hope Xion comes back in KH3, just imagine how emotional it would be a reunion between Roxas, Xion and Axel :')
Ok, I myself am confused about this so Im going to do my best to sort it out Ventus dies, goes into Sora's heart. Sora sacrifices self -> Roxas created Roxas *is* Sora's Nobody. Name and everything. Xion is a puppet, and only a puppet that was fueled by Sora's memories So if you want to get technical, You are shipping Sora with himself, but its like shipping different personalities of someone with Multiple Personalities. In reality you are shipping Roxas with a living puppet. Its ok, I think its heavily implied too.
austin angel Well I really don't know a whole lot about the games as I've only played 1,2, and 358/2 days but what I think happened is that (and I could be completely wrong) when Ventus's heart was released, it found it's way into Sora. Because of this, Sora is able to wield the keyblade. However, when Sora gives up his heart to give Kairi hers back in the first game, he became a Heartless. It is explained that whenever a Heartless is born, so too is a Nobody. Yet, Sora quickly became a whole person yet again due to Kairi. So when this happened Ventus was set free in the form of Roxas as a nobody. Because he is not truly a part of Sora, even when Sora became whole once again, Roxas remained. This could also partially explain why Roxas had no memories due to the fact that he wasn't truly either Sora or Ventus. However, Sora's memories began to resurface and eventually, Roxas became part of Sora once again which brought Ventus back into Sora, and allowing him to use the Keyblade once again. As for Xion, she was a puppet stealing Sora's memories and powers through Roxas, also giving her Ventus's powers. These in combo created a personality in the puppet, thus how Xion gained some form of free will. Once Roxas defeated her, she was destroyed and all of the memories and powers went back into Roxas. It took time for the memories to disappear however, in fact almost a whole day. After that the work of re-inserting Sora's memories and in turn, powers, began. Now like I said in the beginning I could be completely wrong, as these are just my thoughts on the matter. It has been a long time since I played the games but personally, I loved the storyline and the "romance" in 358/2 Days the best, even though they can't possibly be together since the body that was Xion was essentially disintegrated and the memories and powers were absorbed back into Roxas and in turn Sora. Due to the fact that she never truly existed, it would probably impossible for her to be remembered, no matter if they are all part of the same person or not. However, it could be that she is locked away in some far off corner of Sora's memories, unable to be reached and thus, not remembered. But then again, that's just my theory, a Game Theory! (Sorry I just had to do that)

I've lost 6 loved ones in the past 8 years by my count...my eldest sister Erin, died of cancer a few years ago and my closest childhood friend, Kenny, he died of a blood clot t' the heart a few months ago...he loved these games even more than I... Looks like you never played re-chain of memories. Xion is a replica of Sora. Xion was made from Vexen who made the Riku replica. Its called the replica program and I didn't feel sad for her because shes a fake. If you wanted her to exist she should of killed roxas and then sora but chose to return sora's memory. Vexen created Xion before sora went to Castle Oblivion to adsorb his memory but Marluxia betrayed the organization so things didn't go as planned. Riku replica was going to copy Riku's power and destroy Riku but Ansem was still inside the real Riku and gave him the power to destroy the fake Riku. Why would Sora bring back Xion who was made to stun Sora? Fan service is going to kill this franchise.
Ron burgundy Thing is, he won't resurrect the "puppet" Xion. He will bring back her memories with Axel and Roxas and bring her back into existence but as a normal being. She will then have the choice of continuing her original mission or siding with Sora, but since she rejected the organization once I don't see why she would follow them again. Bringing her back does not neccessarily create plot holes. It could also be a stepping stone for going into more detail about how can Sora awaken Ven. Man, KH3 will be fucking awesome. Too bad its on PS4/XBone only :(

Ill be honest, the only cutscenes I find truly interesting are between Saix and Axel. They had been best friends in Birth by Sleep as children and its interesting to see that relationship develop. Axel became good friends with Roxas and Xion as Nobodies during their time in the Organization. Its like Saix is hurt in a way though, just the way he says his statements. "You have changed. Does the past mean nothing to you?" "Would you rather suffer the loss of a fake friendship... or a real one?" He even said his real name during that conversation too. I have a shaky memory so I dont remember much. But seeing those two go from best friends to this is kind of heartbreaking.
I really think that's the reason why he joined with Xenahort in Dream Top Distance it would be interesting if there was a battle between the two former friends in Kingdom Hearts 3

That would mean sunsets would have to be red for an entirely different reason. It's a nice piece of trivia to know, but it's not even applicable in the universe they live in. So basically, Axel's just pulling Roxas' leg with a bit of fake trivia that just so happens to be a real fact from our universe. META.
It was put in there since there was always the question of if they would live to the next day. Red would travel the farthest, foreshadowing that Axel would be the last one standing of the trio. Just a guess though

I still stand by the fact that 358/2 Days has the greatest story out of all Kingdom Hearts games. This is actually one of my favorite stories from a game. It's not very high, like let's say Okamiden's story, but it's an amazing one in my opinion.
Hold, hold... Organization 13 has ice cream breaks? Plus, do they have like rooms with beds and all that jazz at the caste? Or are there like dorms or something. I'd want to see what everybody's room looks like, like for Xigbar there would be a bunch of cross bows and for Xemnas there would be posters of darkness and Kingdom Hearts and everything. I kinda want a modern feel like Organization 13, y'know? Like, they get ice cream breaks. Oh yeah, do they have to wear those robes every day? Do they have stuff like normal clothes, or do they have a laundry machine, or are there robes just self-clean everyday at 1 AM?
Egil the Machina in the manga, there's a short story about the members enjoying a kotatsu. And then, there's a scene where Demyx using the bathroom without his robes.. I'm pretty sure they do have their own normal days, just not showing it in the game.
They don't get ice cream breaks so much as they just get a bit of downtime after they finish their mission, and choose to spend it on getting ice cream. Or they're practicing the time-honored tradition of time theft I suppose. Plus the ice cream thing started out as a manipulation tactic by Axel that just blossomed into an actual friendship. We do see bits and pieces of their rooms, but they're usually very sparse, impersonal. We don't see very many of them though, I wouldn't be surprised if Demyx's has posters or something around.
Roxas' comment on 'Lazy Day' about him only being able to handle seven days of summer vacation is something I didn't notice before, but now I realize it is super significant

I am really impressed with the way this film was edited and put together, great job! I liked this story line the most because it explained the gap between the first game, the gameboy game and the 2nd kingdom hearts game. plus the gameplay was excellent :)
Its sad that all the Nobodies want is to be whole again and atleast Axel, Roxas and Xion are as close as you can get. They are Friends, they feel. All this time Xemnas made it seem like the Nobodies are missing something, those 3 are the example that this is not true. They could have lifed fine in the light, eventhough they are beings of darkness.

God, that conversation between Saix and Axel in his room is so intense and makes me hope we get to see them interact more in KH3. Axel was so supportive of Saix, I'd really like to learn more about their whole plan together... ... Isa is just jelly af lol. Bummer they didn't include a scene with Roxas fighting Saix, I always loved that part. Saix, who bossed you around and bullied you and Xion the whole game, finally fighting him to escape the castle was so satisfying. Square Enix def should have made a scene for that in my opinion

If you played Kingdom Hearts DDD, Xemnas explains that the Organization did have hearts.

That's only because Xion's appearance is different to anyone who sees her because of all that replica crap and so on. She is 'faceless', portrayed by having the hood up till a person gets to a certain point, don't remember how or why. Roxas can see her for who she is because he was closer or whatever, but Axel could not for whatever reason. Same how Xigbar saw her as Ventus.
As the person above said, it's an intentional carryover from the original, where people pointed out the same thing. Her face was what others projected on it - in Axel and Roxas saw her as she is. Most others didn't see her with a face at all

I feel like it's always going to be a running gag that Roxas never makes it to the beach. Between never getting to the beach in KH2 and never going to the beach in Days, it seems to be one of the things that makes him the opposite of Sora. His connection to Sora probably is what causes Roxas and Xion to love the beach and the sound of the waves.

It shows not only Ventus, Terra, and Namine, it also shows Roxas and Xion, hinting that their return is possible and this time they could be their own person independent of Sora's own persona.

You know, thinking about it... There isn't really a happy ending in the kingdom hearts games so far. 1 left with sora riku and kairi split up, chain left sora memoryless and in a deep sleep, obviously Days was a tragedy through and through only rivaled by Birth By Sleep, 3D wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either with Xehanort's plan about to come full circle and Sora left without having become a master. Only 2 has a happy ending and even then it's kind of marred with the knowledge that Xemnas was never really killed, just temporarily set back. This is a sad ass game series for one so light hearted!

Caine Ojeda it might sound odd but to roxas the whole eating an ice cream was a bonding moment, something he held very dear to him and pretty much all he knows. to him the ice cream comment was something huge, it meant a lot to him. the line sounds weird but its feeling its dead-on.
Krimzon_452 I totally agree. To Roxas, a friend is someone who will have ice cream with him. In that sense, the line "who else will I have ice cream with" is the same as him saying "who else will be my friend?" since Roxas no longer considers Axel a friend, seeing as the red-head was a part of the organization that left him completely in the dark regarding his true identity.
Also, this line might have sounded better in Japanese, seeing as the language/culture tends to use symbolism more.

austin angel Well I really don't know a whole lot about the games as I've only played 1,2, and 358/2 days but what I think happened is that (and I could be completely wrong) when Ventus's heart was released, it found it's way into Sora. Because of this, Sora is able to wield the keyblade. However, when Sora gives up his heart to give Kairi hers back in the first game, he became a Heartless. It is explained that whenever a Heartless is born, so too is a Nobody. Yet, Sora quickly became a whole person yet again due to Kairi. So when this happened Ventus was set free in the form of Roxas as a nobody. Because he is not truly a part of Sora, even when Sora became whole once again, Roxas remained. This could also partially explain why Roxas had no memories due to the fact that he wasn't truly either Sora or Ventus. However, Sora's memories began to resurface and eventually, Roxas became part of Sora once again which brought Ventus back into Sora, and allowing him to use the Keyblade once again. As for Xion, she was a puppet stealing Sora's memories and powers through Roxas, also giving her Ventus's powers. These in combo created a personality in the puppet, thus how Xion gained some form of free will. Once Roxas defeated her, she was destroyed and all of the memories and powers went back into Roxas. It took time for the memories to disappear however, in fact almost a whole day. After that the work of re-inserting Sora's memories and in turn, powers, began.
Now like I said in the beginning I could be completely wrong, as these are just my thoughts on the matter. It has been a long time since I played the games but personally, I loved the storyline and the "romance" in 358/2 Days the best, even though they can't possibly be together since the body that was Xion was essentially disintegrated and the memories and powers were absorbed back into Roxas and in turn Sora. Due to the fact that she never truly existed, it would probably impossible for her to be remembered, no matter if they are all part of the same person or not. However, it could be that she is locked away in some far off corner of Sora's memories, unable to be reached and thus, not remembered. But then again, that's just my theory, a Game Theory! (Sorry I just had to do that)

Looks like you never played re-chain of memories. Xion is a replica of Sora. Xion was made from Vexen who made the Riku replica. Its called the replica program and I didn't feel sad for her because shes a fake. If you wanted her to exist she should of killed roxas and then sora but chose to return sora's memory. Vexen created Xion before sora went to Castle Oblivion to adsorb his memory but Marluxia betrayed the organization so things didn't go as planned. Riku replica was going to copy Riku's power and destroy Riku but Ansem was still inside the real Riku and gave him the power to destroy the fake Riku. Why would Sora bring back Xion who was made to stun Sora? Fan service is going to kill this franchise.
Ron burgundy Thing is, he won't resurrect the "puppet" Xion. He will bring back her memories with Axel and Roxas and bring her back into existence but as a normal being. She will then have the choice of continuing her original mission or siding with Sora, but since she rejected the organization once I don't see why she would follow them again. Bringing her back does not neccessarily create plot holes. It could also be a stepping stone for going into more detail about how can Sora awaken Ven. Man, KH3 will be fucking awesome. Too bad its on PS4/XBone only :(

Ill be honest, the only cutscenes I find truly interesting are between Saix and Axel. They had been best friends in Birth by Sleep as children and its interesting to see that relationship develop. Axel became good friends with Roxas and Xion as Nobodies during their time in the Organization. Its like Saix is hurt in a way though, just the way he says his statements.

He even said his real name during that conversation too. I have a shaky memory so I dont remember much. But seeing those two go from best friends to this is kind of heartbreaking.

I still stand by the fact that 358/2 Days has the greatest story out of all Kingdom Hearts games. This is actually one of my favorite stories from a game. It's not very high, like let's say Okamiden's story, but it's an amazing one in my opinion.

I kinda want a modern feel like Organization 13, y'know? Like, they get ice cream breaks. Oh yeah, do they have to wear those robes every day? Do they have stuff like normal clothes, or do they have a laundry machine, or are there robes just self-clean everyday at 1 AM?
Egil the Machina in the manga, there's a short story about the members enjoying a kotatsu. And then, there's a scene where Demyx using the bathroom without his robes.. I'm pretty sure they do have their own normal days, just not showing it in the game.

They don't get ice cream breaks so much as they just get a bit of downtime after they finish their mission, and choose to spend it on getting ice cream. Or they're practicing the time-honored tradition of time theft I suppose. Plus the ice cream thing started out as a manipulation tactic by Axel that just blossomed into an actual friendship. We do see bits and pieces of their rooms, but they're usually very sparse, impersonal. We don't see very many of them though, I wouldn't be surprised if Demyx's has posters or something around.
Roxas' comment on 'Lazy Day' about him only being able to handle seven days of summer vacation is something I didn't notice before, but now I realize it is super significant

Its sad that all the Nobodies want is to be whole again and atleast Axel, Roxas and Xion are as close as you can get. They are Friends, they feel. All this time Xemnas made it seem like the Nobodies are missing something, those 3 are the example that this is not true. They could have lifed fine in the light, eventhough they are beings of darkness.
And Dream Drop Distance reveals that not only did some of the Organisation get restored as Somebodies, but Heartless can grow new hearts.

Xion is actually No.I rearranged with an x. No.I stands for number I, in roman numbers, number one I can't remember exactly but it was written somewhere that after creating her they took No.I and rearranged the letters to form Xion

Bummer they didn't include a scene with Roxas fighting Saix, I always loved that part. Saix, who bossed you around and bullied you and Xion the whole game, finally fighting him to escape the castle was so satisfying. Square Enix def should have made a scene for that in my opinion

This is so freakin' sad! The saddest Kingdom Hearts :( It would make a hell of a movie! I actually never played Kingdom Hearts. Just working on it with Pcsx2. Would anyone want Disney to make a Kingdom Hearts trilogy (but as movies)? Thumbs up if you would!
