Let me say this then, where does the Light and the Darkness even come from then? Who is its creator? Like the game, it's the creator of the game that has made those concepts a reality right? But in our Reality, the real Light and Darkness also has a Creator.

One of my favorite versions of Dearly beloved (by alkamest) was recently taken down. I was heartbroken, because I listened to it for years and loved re-reading the comments. Their account was terminated for some reason or another but this is a good replacement.

Don’t mind me. Just imagining myself in a hammock on a shady porch on Destiny Islands listening to an old cassette player while warm summer rain falls. Just far enough from the beach to not hear the ocean but I can still see the waves on the sand in the distance. Maybe drinking a lemonade or something and watching the rain fall. It’s a soothing summer afternoon and I have no obligations at the moment but to watch the rain fall.

I always use to leave the PS2 on when I was a kid just to fall asleep to this song. Then one day when the PS2 stopped working I moved on and grew up. I became afraid of being a fan of Disney and playing this kid's game.
Now I know it's not a kid's game. It's not just a video game, it's a memory that defined my childhood. Sora just doesn't connect the hearts of those attached to him, but it connects us with a piece of our childhood we think is gone forever.
That connection is always there if I need it. Sora is a part of history and always will be now. He's in the biggest crossover in video game history.
Now, I'm happy that new fans can discover the same magick I felt when I was getting stuck at Deep Jungle for a few hours or defeating the Riku-Ansem at Hallow Bastion just to hear his amazing boss theme.
My passion goes out to Kingdom Hearts. These games will forever be a gem, no matter what.

And the fact that this is the kind of game that connects to so many people, despite all the other sources of media that can grab our attention, really speaks volumes about the charm and joy this franchise brought and continues to bring so many people.
My best friend and I grew up playing final fantasy games and watching Disney movies, we both were in the same room when the first trailer came out. The excitement to play this game was overwhelming and once we both got copies its all we talked about for MONTHS. Flash forward were both in high school in line holding our copies of KH2, not ready for how much this game is going to change everything. Its all we talked about for years, while wondering when KH3 would come out. He passed away the year the first trailer of KH3 came out, my copy is sealed on my shelf waiting for him to come by so we can play together. I played it digitally, because I knew he was sitting on the couch yelling at Donald with me. I miss you man.
Hold your friends close, because you never know when their journey becomes part of yours. I love this game, and everything its taught me.

You know after almost 20 years of a series such as this it is amazing how many people cherish it. I remember one time I was young, I was with my mom at target and I saw a DS game known as Kingdom Hearts re:coded ( and yes I know re:coded isn’t that memorable but whatever) I got it and fell in love with it and I still play it from time to time. Granted, I was DEFINITELY confused I still liked it. Years later, I discovered the series and it’s other games and it’s a miracle that I understand it’s story without being confused. I again fell in love with the series and ever since then I have been a dedicated fan still to this day. Unfortunately, I could not experience the other games because I was a Nintendo guy, I have only played the handhelds so far but I have watched all the cutscenes for the others. I want the mainline games on switch so bad so I can experience them properly and hope that Sora will make it to smash

I have finally beaten Yozora and I feel something, something more to come. It has been a amazing 2 1/2 month journey through this wonderful franchise and I am glad I got to properly experience it, I will love this series forever.
Honestly, Re:Coded isn’t that bad of a game at all. Yes, the story’s weird but the gameplay is insane, especially for a DS game. It really nailed the command deck formula in my opinion.
@@simonhanna3679 true, especially for some of the keyblade animations are insane take lionheart for example it’s a speed keyblade and when you have a bunch of combo plus it basically is as fast as kh2 combat (also judgment traid is overpowered I can literally get Roxas to 1 bar with it)
The Kingdom Hearts saga is now also on PC through the Epic Games store. With the upcoming Steam Deck essentially being a handheld PC, and one being able to install different apps on it, one could in theory play the Kingdom Hearts saga on a handheld device once the Steam Deck is released.

@@phoenixking6461 The Steam Deck could be a little pricey; the one with the most storage space will be over $600. I myself am not in a hurry to get it as I already have a gaming laptop. The Deck might only especially be appealing if one has a big collection of games on Steam that they would like to be able to take with them on the go.
Don’t forget, the Kingdom Hearts saga is now also on Xbox as well.

I haven’t listened to this song on its own in a little over four years. It was a song my ex and I held dear to our hearts as a key in our relationship. Ever since that breakup, I haven’t been able to listen to it without thinking of how bad that breakup was for me. And... It really hurt, because I genuinely love this song, and I couldn’t imagine playing each new Kingdom Hearts game and just... Immediately being in a bad mood.
Finally, today, Mr. Sakurai made me able to listen to it, and once again feel... Happiness. Seeing the figure of my childhood make it into the biggest crossover in history, I can finally listen to this song and be taken back to the times when I would play this game, getting stuck on every world, and asking my mother for help. And I can also look back to more recent times, finally besting the first game just a year ago. I’d beaten all the others... 2, 3, BbS, Re:Coded, 358/2 Days, and... Most recently, the game that formed who I am today.

I first really got attached to Sora back in 2022 with Smash and he was my main, i thought of discovering the game since my now ex boyfriend knew a lot about it, we stopped playing Smash for a very long time because problems problems.. We started playing again at some point and i played as Sora, and after a while i asked my ex to introduce me to Kingdom Hearts and he made me play KH1 and it was such a beautiful experience.. I’ve enjoyed everything about this game, and it made me love Sora even more, i looked up so many things about him and i saw him in KH2 & KH3 & KH4.. And i fell in love with him. Sora is so kind and generous and would do anything to help anyone, he is truly wonderful and he helped me build up the courage to finally get out of my abusive relationship, but in return i had to drop Kingdom Hearts.. I have no console of my own so that was really devastating, but i ordered two Sora plushes and got away with my ex’s KH2 manga’s so that was enough to make me happy, as long as Sora was near. Today i am with another boy, healthier relationship and i still love Sora strongly to this day, my boyfriend understands my love for him and I’m glad, and he has a console so i bought Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts 3 and now I’m almost done with Kingdom Hearts 2!! I still love Sora so much and i always will, I’ve got his crown tattooed on my wrist and i can’t wait to get more of him, Love you Sora.

This is absolutely beautiful and perfect! KHII always had my favorite arrangement of "Dearly Beloved." That cello part near the beginning seems to let you know you are in for a journey to every feel you can ever feel. So many precious memories from this series. Thank you for sharing. My wife is being soothed to sleep as I listen to this now. We found out we miscarried our first child back in November. It was really hard. We started playing through this series and she is loving the story. It's her first time through it. I'm loving sharing the beauty of this franchise with her. And this is the perfect version of this song to soothe our hearts and remind us that we will see our little "Dearly Beloved" someday in Heaven.

I have never felt so calm and relaxed
this game series always served as an enigmatic dream ever since I was a child, watching my mother and sister battle at wits end against various levels which I never knew I would come to understand and conquer. I always saw it as something different, something i’d never see again after a certain point, but a few years down the line, I found myself digging out the old PS2 and praying to find it in working order. everything was functioning up until the SD card, completely ruining the hours spent in one sitting. it was one of those moments where you sit and think, ‘that was too much to go through again.’ and you pack away the console for another few years. inevitably enough, seeing the game bundle on sale on Playstation caused a new form on excitement, seeing not only the two forgotten games of old, but even more for me to explore! I would like to preface that I haven’t completed KH1 or KH2 even once, but i’ve got my fair share of time spent on the opening hours and watching in awe as my sister cascades through Hollow Bastion, not understanding a frame of what’s going on. the way I work is i’ll fixate on a game for a while, then i’ll burnout for a considerable amount of time, and that’s exactly what happened after I finished all three BBS endings and the extra Aqua centred game. hopefully, soon enough i’ll find myself back into this beauty of a franchise, finding myself where I left off, in the Little Mermaid segment of KH1, absolutely clueless of direction, but that won’t bother me. i’ll be the first to admit that i’m not the most adept player of these games, but it’s not about being good for me, it’s about the pure joy I derive from its existence. the day I finish KH1 will be extremely emotional for me, and I personally don’t believe it’s something i’d be able to handle, but it’ll all be worth it.
I don’t expect many people to read this seeing as there’s so many amazing comments on this video, but I felt like i’d share my piece in this diverse and wonderful community. thank you. :)

So many memories of the past. My mother and I would play this when I was a kid and in those moments I actually felt like a child, like all was right in the cold cruel world that is reality. Now here I stand a young man, seeking anything to bring back that feeling I only guess is joy, here on this night, I think I have found it and I missed that feeling. I missed what I believe to be happiness, it might not be much but it does make me feel better, even if I can't just be a kid again or be with my family, I can look back on these memories and cherish them.

I faithfully fall asleep to this video every night… now someone might be thinking “damn doesn’t this get played out for you?” honestly… not at all because I only listen to this song unless I’m tired (not if I’m trying to force myself to go to sleep so that I’ll have energy for later) and if I’m tired, I’m usually gonna be knocked out in like 5 to 10 minutes and on top of that I’m not even really paying attention to the song for those 5 to 10 minutes. Ah, man... 1.5 was my entry to Kingdom Hearts with my dad playing it... I loved the HELL outta Riku, even if he went evil for two seconds... About... 8 years later... Now I got myself into MoM, and I'm close to finishing up that game.
It's a nice Switch game, but I'm not gonna touch the harder songs, I don't think I could handle it.
Edit: With a little bit of lost sanity, I managed to complete some of the harder songs in MoM... They were REALLY tough, as I'm not that much of an expert with rhythm games.

Kh2 is my childhood game, booted up my ps2 everyday after school, listened to this for around 10 min then just game till dinner was ready. After that i would game some more, i’m 18 now and this feels super nostalgic to me, i wish i could relive these simpler times again. Just one more time

Guys we’ve made it all the way to 2024! We did it even if some passed away they didn’t they’re still here playing the game right beside you, though you may not see them they’re right there waiting for you to play again so you both can play together and finish the game together, no matter what they’re always there right beside you playing with you or watching you, and once you finish the game remind yourself of all the times you went through just lay down and review the memories of the game from start to finish remember the times you played with your friends. And yet even if some of your friends don’t know the game or don’t remember it it’s ok as long as you always remember it, it will be like a guiding light to what you love and follow that light no matter what happens stay with the light it leads you to your times you loved..

Played the first.. Seen most of the second. Haven't played the newer ones since.. Hope to get the chance. One of the best games I ever played. Facing Cloud, Leon, & Yuffie and then Sephiroth at the end of the Hercules's Arena is something I'll remember for til the end of my days. One of the best gaming experience ever. FYI, I've been playing since Atari.

Sometimes I feel like going outside in the dead of night with my headphones on play this video and look at the stars. I'm going through a hard time in my life and my mom is scared for me because of something someone is doing to me I reassure my mom that I won't do anything stupid I promise but she still gets scared.
But still gaming is what makes me happy the community with friends I can make the stories games tell and get you enthralled in I'm afraid of change but hopefully I can find a person who will enjoy the things I like. thank you for keeping this up~ back in 2008 i used an old hand-me-down laptop with a crappy built in mic, the "voice recorder" program, and a red gameboy micro to record this song from the title screen of COM. i fell asleep to that garbage recording until the day that laptop completely died. with this world being so chaotic, it's really great to let this cut through the noise and calm my heart~

This music always makes me cry. I would play it when my niece was an infant (I took care of her for two years for my sister) that was a very hard time in my life but also so beautiful. I truly understood what unconditional love was when my niece was born.

Music from these games used to just pump me up. Now they pump me up AND make me ugly cry out of appreciation for how amazing this series is and how it got me through so much turmoil in my life. I’m so happy this ridiculous and confusing franchise exists.
