Can we all just appreciate scherzo di note.. it's clearly the best of this album even if the full battle theme wasn't played and cut short for some stupid reason. Just listen to how whimsical the woodwinds sound in this version. The drums, booming with absolute pride and power. Pure passion. The string instruments play in absolute tandem and harmony. The brass instruments are loud and proud with the small sound of the piano. Staying faithfully to the original and 1.5 versions of this song. A small sound, with a critical impact. This song, scherzo di notte, is not a joke of the night. It is a song of whimsy, brilliance, valor, pride, a song of radiance that certainly doesn't sound hollow. LET THE BATTLE THEME OF THE RADIANT BASTION BE RECOGNIZED AND KNOWN TO ALL OF THE KINGDOM HEARTS FAN BASE. RECOGNIZE SCHERZO DI NOTTE!!!!!!
I love this opinion!! I really like this theme in the games as well-my favorite usage being in KH1 where Sora says “I don’t need a weapon, my friends are my power!” and it cuts to Riku fighting Sora with Scherzo Di Notte playing. That whole game, Riku is jealous of Sora’s keyblade and the fact that Sora spends too much time with Donald and Goofy over him. And Riku indeed ended up eventually getting the keyblade, Donald, and Goofy-and when he loses this when Sora enters Hollow Bastion castle, the theme plays with Riku desperately fighting Sora. I think the theme helps emphasize the clash between Sora’s optimism and determination with Riku’s darkness and hopelessness. And I feel the theme’s rendition in this album encapsulates Riku’s desperation and hopelessness right before he fully falls to the darkness. It certainly is one of the best battle themes in the series. May the sound of Scherzo Di Notte ring throughout the land for all to hear!
The whole thing is good but my favourite part is honestly the part before it goes all crazy, it's a very different sounding Scherzo Di Notte in a good way, the way the instruments just bounce off of each other despite such a contrast between how they sound is incredible.
As a kid, I loved this series for its fun combat and disney characters. As a teenager, I loved the series for the final fantasy characters and aesthetics. As an adult, I love this series for the amazing music I have secretly cherished my whole life. During none of that time did I love this series for its writing, tho, lmao.
At 8:26 when it shows Riku and Kairi, I was reminded of that one scene with in FFVII:AC when he saw Zack and Aerith. It was so cute seeing that little parallel, even if it was unintentional. The white background really helped show the resemblance to it too--- at least, that's what I see.

There is a similar scene like that at the end of Sora’s campaign in CoM where it shows all the Final Fantasy characters Sora had met in Traverse Town and Destiny Islands. The parallels must be far reaching!

Wow Wave of Darkness sounds as fresh as the first time I ever heard it. 🤩🥹🙌🏽 Holy crap the violin on that second part?? And then the main melody slowly and grandly kicking in again?? So satisfying. Delicious, even! Absolutely beautiful, wowowow!!! To be alive at the same time as Yoko Shimomura and to know her music is a true gift. This series hands down wouldn’t be what it is without her. iv been to the actual ochestra twice and each time they glazed over atlantica in less then 10 seconds lmao always got a laugh from the audience, that aside it really is amazing i recommend any fans to check it out! its a good time!

Its a bit of a missing oportunity to not include hearts as one in the other promise section
Anytime I listen to Dearly Beloved, it feels like time and everything around me just stops in place
It definitely is one of my favorite pieces-especially the KH2 version. The reprise versions of the song at the end of KH1 and KH2 are pretty good too
