Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix included the original Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories and 365/2 Days. On 1.5 Remix, Square Enix decided not to include the full game, but only the cutscenes with short text sections to fill in gameplay parts. We have no original gameplay in this video, and simply recorded and edited together. All credit goes to the brilliant minds at Square Enix, and we wish to share this with Kingdom Hearts fans.

Xemnas, leader of Organization XIII, finds the newly-born Roxas in Twilight Town and recruits him as its thirteenth member. Unlike other Nobodies, Roxas lacks memories of his original self, Sora, but develops a personality of his own as time passes. Each day, Roxas is sent on missions to other worlds, either alone or accompanied by a fellow member, to destroy vast quantities of Heartless with his Keyblade and release stolen hearts, which furthers the Organization's goal of creating Kingdom Hearts and becoming complete beings.
For copyright reasons, we had to remove Utada Hikaru's beautiful song, Sanctuary/Passion. While this is very disappointing, we replaced it with Kyle Landry's and Josh Chiu's wonderful rendition of the song. No copyright infringement is intended. The original video can be found here!

Ok there's three types of kingdom hearts that appeared in the games. The one in the first game is created from the amalgamation of destroyed worlds. Each world has a energy core and heartless was seeking to make kingdom hearts. The one in the second game is a accumulation of hearts of man in other words collective unconscious of human minds. The one appeared in 3 is a complete perfect sync of both.

Am I the only one who thought this game had the best story and character depth of the series? I always felt Sora and Riku fit the typical stereotypes of happy-go-lucky protagonist and edgier more serious rival, while you watch the bond between Roxas, Axel, and Xion happen as time passes, and watch them slowly come out of their shells, first Roxas and then Xion. No other game in the series gives you that intense level of backstory, and you feel more invested in the characters as time goes on.
I think it definitely wins in the character department.
And also Axel's development of putting his friends as priority and later giving the middle finger to the organization.
Riku did have his fare share of development throughout, though. It's really noticeable in this game and Chain of Memories.
I whole-heartedly agree, its no coincidence my favorite character of the series is Axel and secondly Roxas. Though in fairness Riku got a fair chunk of development in chain of memories. This game may at the moment be the pinnacle of the series for character development.
Something this game also started to do for the series (and did the most... hasnt really gone anywhere much) is give some fighting style differences between the playable characters, at least in aesthetic if not actually gameplay. Roxas being a much more aggressive, all-out-offense, bladestorm compared to Sora.
I agree. I didn't play the game but after watching this it's my favorite story in the series so far.

The thing is, even if the memories of Xion and Roxas would remain inside him, Sora wouldn't consider that good enough. He'd set out to make them whole, living and breathing again. That's just who Sora is. He couldn't help it.

Joe Green sora is the punching bag of the series for many because he’s not relatable to them.. but to me personally he’s the most relatable... he’s a naturally happy person, same as me but he’s a lot deeper than people give him credit for.. he knows pain and loss but doesn’t let that change who he is as person.
Just like in Kingdom hearts 3 Sora wanted Roxas and Xion to be their own person.

I love how interesting Axel's character is in these games. You could write a whole thesis essay on his character and his development from Chain of Memories, KHII, and 358/2 days. Just those games alone, not to mention the games when he is Lea.

2:41:26 I’m kinda surprised no one is talking about this part of the roxas vs riku scene. We watch roxas go from being a zombie puppet to developing his own identity. He makes friends he really loves and depend on, showing he has a heart even if he’s told he doesn’t have one. Him saying “I want xion back. I want my life back!” Is so hard to swallow when you go thru a whole year of what feels like your whole life, get taken away and have nothing left because your whole existence was a scandal for someone else. It’s only the small things that make roxas so happy and desperate to get it back.

@@arikatheprincessofhearts2043 that’s kinda hard to tell tbh. I’m not a therapist but the way I can best describe it is a kid understanding life and death for the first time. Eventually his character grows and learns attachment. So you could say he’s both sad and angry, but later when he talks to sora in future games, it shows that he has depression over the fact that he can’t come back and only has his memories of axel and xion. (This is all before KH3) so I wouldn’t say he has PTSD, just a phase of feelings he’s going thru.

I mean at the end that was his intention, he would have had axel on his side (maybe riku too if he could have seen that that way would've been easier) and the main point: It would have saved SO much time, like, roxaa was already there, but roxas basicly needed to travel through something like 15 worlds
Keep in mind that Xemnas has the power to turn nobodies into dusks so idk if he could have done anything once he got there. There wouldn't have been any final battle or anything it would have just been "I'M HERE TO-" *into a dusk*. Although given Roxas' nature it could have worked maybe?

I like how in KH3 it explains why Axel took a shine to Roxas because he remembers ventus and they resemble each other
KH3 has made this game even sadder, and yet. Happier in the end. I'm really glad everyone got a good end. I'm happy that Isa was the one that was secretly helping get Roxas, Xion and Namine back to atone for everything that's happened. But honestly, he has nothing to be sorry for in the end. He's been norted and under control for a long time. He wasn't himself. He says that Axel has changed many times in this game, when it's been him who has changed the most, and he doesn't even realize it. It's very sad. Isa, Axel, Roxas and Xion all have the saddest stories. And I'm so happy they get to spend time together. As themselves. As their own person.

@@davidlaush180 I was working on a what if video about that but with my own head canon stuff but I'd say Ventus's heart would've left Roxas and returned to his body waking him up while Roxas he starts turning into Sora but because Ven was inside him for over 10 years if you take the fact Roxas is Sora's body into account I'd believe Roxas would look like that Sora colorswap mod for Ventus in BBS and here Roxas would've started to fully remember his previous life when he was Sora and with Ven gone Roxas would instinctually search for his heart(Sora) so basically Roxas would accept he's Sora early and search to reunite with him.

Also, as far as we know, Ventus' heart is still inside Sora (he really should start getting a rent or something, the guy has too many hearts inside him). Roxas took on Ventus' form probably because of the fact of having two hearts sharing one body. Guess the logic got a bit complicated there, all like "Alright, he just lost.... two hearts? So... I guess I'll take the form of the oldest one? Maybe?". Roxas is the empty shell left behind when Sora sacrificed himself, and looks like he started to develop a heart and a personality on his own. Had he been left to his own devices, he might have been able to get an identity without stealing anything from Sora.
The only person who can find the chamber of waking is aqua is already stated in the game. That's why no one was able to find it.
This game is kinda tragic and I just feel bad for Xion, Roxas, and Axel. Hopefully KH3 gives all 3 of them some form of retribution (maybe pull a few dumb stunts and have them all come back to life...somehow), kind of how they're handling the other organization members and their researcher counterparts. Maybe we can see those 3 on the clock tower again, along with Ventus, Aqua, and Terra somewhere?

The delivery from Riku-Ansem saying “I have accepted it.” gives me chills EVERY time.

Isa and Lean were known for sneaking into the Radiant Garden castle but on a certain day they managed to get in...
Upon further investigation they took those long stairs down to the prisoner cells finding a girl imprisoned, she forgot but we know her as Skuld (From KH: Unchained X).. She disappeared during their next attempt to try and rescue her, most likely being moved somewhere else.
It was then that Lea & Isa knew that there was only one way to find out where she went, and it was why in BBS they were heading towards the castle. They were going to become apprentices to Ansem, to try and rescue her..
Its also kinda interesting how they also met another member of the Union Cross Trio-ish group, VENTUS. (Who was also in unchained X)
2 years late, but to this day, we still have no confirmation that Subject X is Skuld.
Shockingly, this was the first game I played in the Kingdom Hearts series. I didn’t know the order at the time so obviously I was pretty confused with certain parts of the story. With that being said, I grew so attached to the characters of this game and their story. This will always have that special place in my heart ❤
I think what makes 358/2 days such a compelling tragedy is that there is no one thing anyone could have done to prevent this outcome. This isn't an idiot plot where communication was the key, this occurred because of the very nature of nobodies, the Organization, and Sora.
I remember when I was a kid I mostly blamed Axel for this because he lied to Roxas and Xion. But now I'm older I realize the situation is much more complicated. Axel tried to protect Roxas and Xion, but it's hard to protect those who are motivated to find answers about who they are; on top of that Axel couldn't help them openly or he would be seen as a traitor by the organzation. Roxas and Xion both understood this,
Xion gave up her life to save Roxas and free Axel from any blame, while Roxas gave up his resistance to Axel bringing Xion back after he learned the organization would turn Axel into a dusk if he failed..

this is my favorite kingdom hearts game it shows u that alotta bad things happen but friendship is forever 💯
This game fucked me up near the end. It had its slow parts every now and then but the final stretch totally redeemed it. That + the prologue of KH2 is the perfect emotional rollercoaster.
The scene at 55:10 is one of my favorite scenes in the series. Just them talking about summer vacation, always hits me right in the feels.
A part of me wishes they had extended the scene where Axel stops Roxas and Xion from fighting. (The scene where the organization put an illusion on them both) In the manga after Axel's intervention Xion looks at Roxas' severe injuries and is shaken. She realizes Roxas would have died if it hadn't been for Axel and she would have been the one to inflict the killing blow. Roxas tries to reassure her but he can't hide his condition. Roxas then not only thanks Axel for saving him and Xion, but also apologizes for the way he had treated Axel the weeks before. Axel starts to blush and Roxas and Xion are surprised to see this side of him.

It depends on who's looking at her. Roxas sees her as a friend and a human, and axel sees her as a faceless puppet.
Great cinematic movie, had me feeling with all types of emotions, I felt really bad for Xion and Roxas though, :( but it just had to be done in order for Sora to wake up...

I haven't watched/played 358/2 days in a long ass time so I completely forgot that they said Xion's name as 'Shi-own'. I've been saying it as 'Shi-yawn' for years.

Dammit, Square, why did you have to pack so much important plot and genuinely moving character development into relatively unappealing handheld games that I never had a chance to play anyway? Why were there no KH games on PS3?
All those games are out on the remakes for ps3 and ps4
@@Enel97 I appreciate they effort they took in doing some HD cutscene compilations, but that's not exactly the same as playing them.

Actually to me that's the saddest line in the game.
They ate ice cream every day..
And in the beginning Axel said to Roxas ‘friends are to eat ice cream with’
Of course it’s not his biggest concern, the sentence has a deeper meaning
Got the days manga for christmas exactly one month ago, and now just finished reading them all (read vol 5 all at once today after finishing vol 4). Needed to see some of those last scenes for real again.

When I first played this game I thought that those hooded guys Organization XIII were the good guys or maybe that I was playing as the bad guys

I cant believe I actually tried to play KH2 after KH1 when I was a KID on top of all things. No wonder that shit made no effin sense. This was great by the way. Awesome story I never knew existed!
