...I GUESSED RIGHT!...barberries! It takes a special person to brave the elements like you do, Heidi. It's truly survival of the fittest for those in the snowbelts. Our first snowfall of the 2023-2024 winter season is this coming Saturday in Maryland. 2-6" forecast. (Don't laff!) 🥴🙃🤷🏼♀️❄️👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=
Bless your heart ❤️ the dedication to your viewers & consumers with the video tours, thank you for this!! Loved the info on berry Poppins and Mr. Maybe a good alternative to my poor boxwoods. 🤗. Happy New Year to you fine folks ❤️😊👍

What shrub is that on the left side of the isle at the minute mark 31:06? It has blue/silver foliage. Just beautiful!!! And, I think I see the 10 Baptisia I ordered just hanging out there in the nursery! 😁😁😁😁
I’ve been wanting a Proud Berry for a few years now but can never find it locally. I’ve never ordered plants online before but I’m ready to preorder online from you. Not sure which size to get. Can you tell me a little about it’s growth rate? Thanks for the video- fun to be in your garden today!
I always say if the 8"/gallon is available I would get that as it is a larger plant to start with. They are average growing so a quart isnt a bad option as well.
On Big Leaf/ Mac hydrangeas it isn't a bad idea to protect the buds if you are able. Many of the new varieties are quick to set buds on new growth if the ones from the old grow die in the winter.
Beautiful winter garden and great video as always.
Thanks for the visit
So great to see the greenhouses!
Thank you. It is coming along nicely
The Clematis was named after... the Greek God of the sea.. Poseidon "lord of the earth"
Sounds like Po-sigh-dun
Thanks for the tour 😊❤
That is very interesting. Thank you

My butterfly bushes are 26 years old and I’ve always trimmed them in the spring. I live in southwest Michigan near the Indiana border.
Wow! I bet those are some mature looking plants. I have trimmed both fall and spring. Generally they say for MI spring is best
Hi Heidi! Thanks for braving the snow to walk the gardens for us!!! ❤

They certainly would give you more color. But you will want to keep them trimmed shorter if you want a boxwood height

My favorite shrub is proud berry coral berry. I have one which i purchased from you and it is fantastic! The berries are great for flower arrangements.
It is such an under utilized or known about shrubs in my opinion
Did I hear you mention Gatsby Gal hydrangea ? That is on my wish list so I hope you will have them. I always enjoy your tours and all the info you give. Happy New Year. Can't wait to get my order in April
I did mention Gatsby, they have great fall foliage color.
What shrub is that on the left side of the isle at the minute mark 31:06? It has blue/silver foliage. Just beautiful!!! And, I think I see the 10 Baptisia I ordered just hanging out there in the nursery! 😁😁😁😁
It may be butterfly bush. The pugster series can in the cold have a silver blue look.
@@gardencrossings I'm sorry, it was at minute mark 28:12!

Happy New Year Heidi! For Proud berry, does it need a male plant to get those beautiful pink berries? Like Berry Poppins?
No it does not. One plant and you will have berries
Oh, thank you so much for your reply.
Do you not need to protect the hydrangeas buds ? I’m in zone 5b/6a
On Big Leaf/ Mac hydrangeas it isn't a bad idea to protect the buds if you are able. Many of the new varieties are quick to set buds on new growth if the ones from the old grow die in the winter.
