    My hi water mark for credit cards was
    $27,000. It took me years to pay off.
    It was a war. Now it’s zero and cut up.

    I’m a single mom with a $75k income and what I’ve realized with my spending is that a lot of it is spending because of guilt of his dad not being there. Because I have a void I need to fill for Both of us, especially him and that’s what I see here with her sending her son to private school. It’s a need to give him those opportunities and know that she can provide just as well for him as her and the father could together. I bet she’s working a stressful job with long hours and still getting dinner on the table every night and getting her son to practice in the evenings. I understand you love and you’re not alone. 💙

I don’t buy make up or jewelry rarely get my nails and hair done or anything like that but it seems like every month there’s some bill to be paid or something that needs to be bought. My parents had to move across the country for work so there’s less help from them and they’re in their 60s and unable to retire. The cycle of poverty is real and very hard to get out of it. BUT training the mind to think that that purchase is just going to put you that much more into debt. To imagine the numbers in your bank account going up and the numbers of your cc balances going down...every single time you want to buy something. Its really nice when you change like that, when you look at things as a financial burden rather than a must have.

      The Gov takes at least 20k of that, so she has 60k in take home salary. You minus living expenses, food and transportation and it's not a lot.

    • @kbthegoat824
      @kbthegoat824 2 года назад +12

      @@ironmantis25 lets assume 20k was taken off, she spends 14,400 a year on rent and utilities....if she was to spend 1000 a month on food, that would be 12000 a year....6000 a year for her kid private school. She has more than 2000 a month even after all those expenses. Let's not mention the tax refund she's getting back as well. Sounds like you like to make excuses.

      @@taylorsmith9629 There's absolutely no way with her solid income and low monthly expenses that she somehow gained enormous debt and is obviously spending even more than she makes. Americans love spending money on things absolutely unnecessary because we live in an extremely privileged society where the average adult has lots of spending money on their hands, even if it's borrowing money.

    $27K is beatable. I was at $30K in April of 2022. In January of 2024, I spent over $6K on a hair transplant, owed the IRS $800. And I got swindled out of $1,500 by my previous landlord. But as of Sep 2024, I'm now below $18K. With my current budget, that'll be down to $15K three weeks from now. And by Sep 2025, I'll have zero debt.

    She pays at least $1500 to the credit cards, $1250 for rent and utilities, $500 for her kid's school, figure a cell phone, gas, and internet leaves her with $600 after taxes. I bet she also has a car payment she doesn't think of as debt.
    So $10 a month isn't hard to believe.
