I was stationed there 83 - 86, at Barton Barracks. Liked Ansbach so much that I came back as a civilian in 87, and lived there until '95. Your film brought back memories: I was thinking "That's the Buttenstrasse, isn't it?" and then sure enough, you showed the sign of the "Zum Glocke", where I had drank many beers. I think the Wirt's name was "Ralph", IIRC. Thank you for making this presentation: it is I think the best one of Ansbach. :)
I have often said that I like to show the places that I have appreciated, because beauty and interest can be shared. Even if it's just an amateur film. But if it also triggers happy memories, then I've done the job!! Thank you for your feedback! Jo
I was stationed at Katterbach 50 years ago. Met and married an Ansbach Fraulein. You’ve shown a number of areas that I missed, especially St Gumbertus interiors. Don’t mind the trolls that make negative comments. Ansbach is a wonderful town. Thanks for your effort.
Thank you for your comment, and your beautiful story ! I appreciate the support. I try to show as best as possible the interest and beauty of what I encounter while traveling. Trolls??? Ugh!
I was in the US Army here many years ago. Little tourism, and thus pretty quiet. Yes. But this is key to its charm. I have to say- among the best years of my life. Here and Heidelberg. Wunderbar.
I thought this charming little town was totally unknown ... Hence my film. And I realize that many are those who went there, and also that they kept fond memories of it in general. So, enjoy your visit! Jo B.
@@Jo-Backpacker Yes. this little village here with only like 3000 inhabitants for example and I think you might heard of Rothenburg o.d. Tauber or Dinkelsbühl

I have a Germany play-list, where you will find two or three small films on Heidelberg.. If that can bring back good memories... Hi ! Jo.
I used to love walking around Ansbach
An extremely elegant romantic city. Understandable choice!
I was stationed here from 1992-1994.

Great informational video, the only thing that could improve your videos would be a stabilizing gimbal. I loved Ansbach, I hope to go back someday.

Thank you for your friendly advice. Hope your wish will be granted soon. Jo.
I was stationed there 77-80. First, Barton Barracks then Hindenburg Kasern.
Miss home 😢 want to take my family back
I hope you find them.. Good luck!
Anybody stationed there in early 1960 contact me on Facebook.
For this region Ansbach is a certificate of poverty. Every single, little village in Mittelfranken is more exciting
You are very hard on this charming little village. Do you have other videos of interesting places in the region? I'm interested...

I take note. The relief, the landscapes and the beauty of these small towns attracted me one day. Who knows, maybe I'll come back?
