Mny thx for this great Video! I'm born in ansbach and I live here till today. We in ansbach remember all the great times we had have with you, the american GI's. You're every time welcome !!!
I was born in Ansbach and remember walking around the church and palace with my mother and sister. That restaurant with the big red spoon had chicken und pom fritz that smelled out of this world every time we walked by. Thank you for the flashback💜
Lots have changed but thanks for the walk down Ansbach. I was station there in 1978 thru 1980 at Barton Barracks. I would walk to the town square with friends. Great memories. Thanks.
Thanks for the walk through Ansbach. I worked at the Education Center on Katterbach two tours, left there in Jan 2015 and Feb 2022. Both times I have missed everything there.
Thank you so much! (501st ABC Katterbach.) So many memories meeting girls at the clock tower, eating at McDonalds, and buying music at the record store.
I was stationed there back in 1982-86 and remember that McDonald's. Also remember those awesome night clubs. Use to love to eat at the Luben Stuben & Peking Chinese restaurant.
I lived down the road from the palace and my mom used to take us to the park. We lived on bishoff meiser straus over a store owned by the Yandells with a courtyard and purse factory behind us. Then after about ten months we got housing on the katterbach kaserne.
I was stationed in Ansbach back in the 80s had a great time. Also I'm going to make a video of places around there showing how things have changed. So please keep watching. If there is a special place you want to see, let me know. And thank you.
Right on brother, we lived in Barton Housing. Started with 1-37 AR in Bismark then assigned to 501st AG in Hindenburg Kaserne. That was the best time frame to serve with the Mark Rate, the dollar went farther. I dig your vlogs taking me back, to include your house build in the Philippines with your wife & family. Is Stinky's on the hill towards Katterbach right side still there? Boy the club since in Ansbach was great back then too. It was my favorite tour of duty as a young soldier in my 32 year career serving. Do you remenber the Davey Crockett breakfast sandwich at the Hindenburg snack bar?
Hey Bro again thank you for the comment. I plan to make a video of all those places soon. Starting from Katterback to Bleidorn, Barton, Shipton, and Hindenburg Kasernes. So please stay time for that. I do remember the snack bar in Hindenburg but more for Thursday on steak night and for breakfast, I thought they had the best BLT.
Was there 84-85 lived in Barton Barracks, but worked on Katterbach , was a great time to be in West Germany while they still used the DM. Downtown still looks pretty much the same to me.
Yes, Germany is still pretty much the same. The military present has changed a lot, the American bars are gone. But again Germany 🇩🇪 is still so nice, with it's great beer festivals. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for the tour. Spent time there in 1972 at HindenburKasern in the 141st Signal Battalion. Great memories, all good.
