The clubs should not get any compensation if an out of contract player leaves at end of the season. The clubs also need to have the ability to trade a player to any team with the best offer for that player. It holds the clubs accountable but also the player. North struggle to get big signings because the player refuses to go. If Bolton wants to go home then eagles and free know this and can use this as leverage and not give up as much for him to leave.

Clubs should all be backending contracts. If players want great money they will be forced to see out their contracts to get the big money in the final years of their contract.
That or just have more performance incentives written into the base salary. So base salary is say 300k with incentives like for a forward, each goal is X amount, each game is X amount so they have to actually try and be in the main side not the 2s and so on so forth. How many players on massive salaries who just don't care all the time. Forget back ended just all base salary categories based on player and include performance bonuses on high level
