Nero Howlett I know right? They could parkour, freerun, survive a fucking apocalypse. But to master the crouch?! Now that's a true challenge and only the most skilled assassins could master the ART of crouching.
***** They accomplish similar goals but that doesn't define whether or not you like them as a character. It's about personality and connection. AC2 was a huge step up from the first game and we grew with Ezio from then over the course of Brotherhood and Revelations (Revelations even allowed a deeper understanding of Altair) and got quite used to his persona. We were enriched in quite a deep story and when AC3 came around, they didn't have that span of 3 games to get us used to Connor, not only that but it was a drastic change in attitude. He was quite droll about everything in comparison so that's why I think people dislike Connor. Edward had some fun elements and the background to make him more of an exciting character to play as. I think there needs to be a balance to keep us connected and ultimately not HATE them.. Or should I say, ultimately not HAYTHAM HAHAHA...
I enjoyed Connor, he was stubborn and annoying like that on purpose, in AC3 the story was fantastic. The Templars were the ones who were correct, and the Assassins vision died out through the centuries, he was hellbent on revenge and had never actually taken the time to consider the views of the Templars, a happy slave is better than a unhappy free man, whereas the Creed in AC3 (Only Connor really) was in the mindset that due to Templars killing his tribe he was too focused on the rage inside of him, and even Achilles saw that, yet was powerless to stop him.
Additionally, blue is the symbol colour of France, along with the white under coat and red tie that Arno wears, he basically symbolizes France in his clothing.
"The combat in ACU is much harder" Oh thank god! "For the first time ever in AC we have a dedicated stealth mode, at the click of a button" SWEET JESUS YES.
i like assassin creed so much, but i do feel like the creed was changed,i remember the days when altair would kill people for just acknowledging him,and that is a true assassin.
each assassins interprets the creed differently, thats what makes playing as different characters so interesting, altair killed basically everyone, ezio killed when necessary, edward killed when he wanted but mainly for gold, connor killed for revenge and this guy seems to be sending a message to the templars, only killing necessary people but i guess we'll have to see
GINGERJMEZ Well said. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. It shows us the different morals between the assassins and how the different times affect them.
i love that they put some of the dynamic elements that i have seen from watch dogs' world in this new AC's world like the random thievery events and the crimes makes the city and the people feel more real, they are seriously pulling off the 'dynamic' in this new dynamic world of theirs!
I am really looking forward to see the new "challenging" combat system. It seems to me that the past games did not really gave us a reason to run away from open conflict.
It's interesting because since the very first Assasin's Creed I was hoping the next one would be set during the French Revolution, looks like I got what I wanted.
He reminds me of Altair and Ezio. He seems to have the flare and charismatic attitude but at the same time has the precision, stealth and serious side to him as well.
If you listen to the commentary he says that with controlled decent, you don't necessarily HAVE to look for a haystack anymore, not that it is gone entirely. Besides, it's as much a trademark as the hidden blade in the series, it always features!
I'm excited to learn more about Arno hopefully he is likable so far you can tell all of the Assassins apart by look and personality hopefully this continues with him
Hey, guys... Are you sure this whole gameplay demonstration wasn't just a cinematic clip. It was soo smooth, and the this, that, there ... T~T it's beautiful!
they have to work on the running - walking animation, its not gradual like in AC3 and 4, it looks a bit too unrealistic, he doesnt slow down, he just stops immediately
i think it looks fine, definitely better than Ezio's animations and i always thought that in AC3 when Connor or Haythem walked it looked like they saw something strange, is it just me?
Nacho Ninja i know what you mean, when you walk slowly they got into some kind of stealth walking, but thats not what i mean, what i say its that when hes running he doesnt slow down, he just stops, the animations them selves are very good what i dont like is the transitions between them
Diego Murillo maybe he just stopped on the dot cos he wasn't running very fast, i think they have the Ezio style running, jog with 1 button, sprint with another, i'm probably wrong but this is just a demo they might look at it and change it
***** i dont think they'll be going back to that.... i think its the same system used in Avil next with ac3 4 and liberation, its just that its a work in progress, so its not finished, i hope
Damn the atmosphere seems great in this game. If you listen close when the assassin goes in for the air assassination, you can hear some of the crowd screaming in terror. I don't know if that will happen in the game, but that feels great!
It's so amazing to see that they're doing a real AC game again. :D I've been waiting for this for years! Also awesome to see that a proper stealth system is *finally* included.
Eagle Vision is not gone. It is just renamed and evolved for Arno. Such as Ezio's "Eagle Sense." It's all the same thing, just different adaptations of Eagle Vision to aid the user. Ezio needed to know where his targets moved, so his adaptation of Eagle Vision over time gave him the ability to see the trail of his targets. Edward needed to keep track of his targets, so his adaptation of Eagle vision allowed him to 'tag' threats. In this case, since Arno is much more stealth driven, his Eagle Vision evolved into Eagle Pulse. This allows him to see through solid objects, allowing him to plan his traversal of a room silently.
monŽir Ahmed Assassins Creed 2 was so great. Don't get me wrong, I love all and every Assassin's Creed game, but none ever gave me the feeling of Assassin's Creed 2. Everyone comment I see about it give me that tingly feeling.
Bob Saget I know what u mean...but i have a good feeling about this one...and it's in Paris...the closest thing to our beloved cites of Italy...the only thing missing is Ezio i wish if i can just take the apple of Eden and revive him back or something to bring Assassin's Creed back to it's glory
Finally. An actual stealth mode. It irritated me to no end that you couldn't duck behind some low cover like the peak of a roof for stealth in previous games.
This is the ultimate Assassins Creed game!! Beatiful graphics, a good city for an AC game, crouch mode, downwards parkour, and the fact that they call it parkour and not Free-running. Because it is parkour. And did he really say 1:1 scale city?!??! HOLY FUCK!!
murder in the sequence can be maintained we press the attack button with the run button, RT (Xbox). If we want to attack with combos, just press the attack buttons only
Am I the only guy that listen to this guy start listing all the awesome new stuff we'll be able to do in this game and then says "Fuck that quality new stuff we added, lets show all the shit you've already done like air assassination and climbing!"....
Since Unity has things 360 and PS3 can't do, they are instead building a game for 360 and PS3 as a standalone title instead of a dummed downed version of Unity.
***** AC:Unity starts off 6 years after Connor but Arno has nothing to do with the 'Desmond family line'. See Hannah from the Yogscast interview with Vincent Pointbriant, Senior Producer of AC:Unity 3 weeks ago.
"Combat is much more challenging in ACU. players will have to make good use their wit, tools and combat moves." - Easily kills guards by practically button mashing the attack button...
Really awesome game i just hope that they will bring back assassin recruiting and big battles.I like the new stealth system its actually cool, its not copied from watch dogs because games before watch dogs had that stealth system.I cant wait the game!!!
Some notable improvements; the beginnings of a proper stealth system, controlled descent, 1:1 city ratio, heavier use of building interiors - but to me the gameplay just feels so hollow and doesn't grab my attention post-Revelations. It's hard to explain but I don't feel like the character's climbing when i watch them, they just sort of slide up the wall, theres no feeling of resistance in the animations and it's all too fast and unrealistic. Same with the combat - there are ways to make fighting systems challenging / interesting without making the enemies swordproof, the fact that he had to slash/stab the guy with the spear 7 times before he dropped is just tedious and again unrealistic/mood ruining. I'm glad they're getting on the way to fixing the franchise but I find it hard to imagine a game as good all-round as Brotherhood coming out any time soon. I imagine I'm gunna get flamed for this but I'm not just pointlessly insulting the game - hopefully seen as constructive and valid criticism!
is seen at the end of leaps of faith. I know it is hard to keep them with a more realistic proposition, but it is a tradition in Assassin's Creed. At least the water will ...
I'm so happy they re-created the gameplay in assassins creed unity. it's been the same from Assassin's Creed all the way to Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and it looks like it's going to be the same in Assassin's Creed Rogue as well.
Same reason they all do, except a few parts in Native Indian on AC3 and a few words in Italian and whatnot, the Animus can translate their voices so they speak in English, but some words slip through and still come out as the original language, like 'bene' or 'Requiescat in Pace'
But if they were all French or Italian or all spoke foreign, then the story wouldn't be much fun, because we'd either have no idea what was going on, or constantly have to look at the subtitles to see the translation and miss the action of what's on the screen, it's better that they all speak English, and makes sense with the Anums translator thing so it doesn't seem out of place
replying to everyone here, its safe to assume the animus translation has improved with upgrades so whereas Ezio was translated with an accent maybe this guy just isnt, and maybe the animus defaults to British English
When AC2 came out it was the best as it had all these new features and felt revolutionary.... This though... this I cant wait for this, its going to be the new and improved assassins creed, finally they're getting back into what assassins creed is all about
The graphics and animation looks amazing. :)
yeah but ubisoft is known by showing "fake demo quality" in E3... talk about watchdogs, farcry 3 and AC series...
you don't say
Squall23 But for once it's not Multiplatform, just next generation so it's fully optimised
Hans Montecalvo Get a second hand home.console then? I'm getting my ps4 this October... Probably second hand too
Hans Montecalvo : I hope you get to upgrade your PC in the near future. :)
So after all this time, the Assassins have finally learned how to crouch.
lol it is very hard to master
*****
Wow that joke totally missed you...
Nero Howlett I know right? They could parkour, freerun, survive a fucking apocalypse. But to master the crouch?! Now that's a true challenge and only the most skilled assassins could master the ART of crouching.
Dont underestamte the art of crouching gentlemen. There are not many among us who have taken the path of the crouch.
Those new freerunning motions are as smooth as butter, I love it
loving the seamless building entering! and the parkour looks incredible! high hopes for this game!!!
I really hope he isn't another Connor
How dare you sir
***** No he wasn't, i should say the best Assassins is Ezio then Altair then Edward kenway, Connor out of the count.
*****

Yeah but it would be cool to see him though
I enjoyed Connor, he was stubborn and annoying like that on purpose, in AC3 the story was fantastic. An Assassin that isnt wearing bright white colours AND CAN CROUCH BEHIND COVER?
BLASPHEMY
:O
BUB, white colour is the symbol of peace that's why...
+MAAZ ahmed More like white is the color of royalty, same for purple. And that was rather frowned upon at the time.
agree bros!
Additionally, blue is the symbol colour of France, along with the white under coat and red tie that Arno wears, he basically symbolizes France in his clothing.
3:00 eagle 'PULSE'? Eagle Vision mate!
This looks amazing! Historical setting adds a nice touch and it looks like its gonna be very satisfying
Ending was amazing, the 3 assassins appeared!
I just noticed at 3:30, the guard is playing the knife game?
"The combat in ACU is much harder" Oh thank god!
"For the first time ever in AC we have a dedicated stealth mode, at the click of a button" SWEET JESUS YES.
i like assassin creed so much, but i do feel like the creed was changed,i remember the days when altair would kill people for just acknowledging him,and that is a true assassin.
Maybe if you are refering to the young and arrogant Altair. Like Ezio ones said, an Assassin only kills if he has to and that is a true Assassin.
each assassins interprets the creed differently, thats what makes playing as different characters so interesting, altair killed basically everyone, ezio killed when necessary, edward killed when he wanted but mainly for gold, connor killed for revenge and this guy seems to be sending a message to the templars, only killing necessary people but i guess we'll have to see
GINGERJMEZ Well said. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. It shows us the different morals between the assassins and how the different times affect them.
SkillerSteve028 exactly! if we wanted the same morals every time they would have stuck with Altair
*****
Holy fuck i did ! My brain must have been asleep or on vacation.
Needs more outrrrrrageous french accents.
Your mother was a hamster and your father the smell of elderberries
Needs more surrendering and white flags flapping in the breeze
ShenWooXIII Yeah, because the Revolution was all about French people surrendering... Seriously, stop it with the stupid stereotypes.
I need to hear them say QWASAWNT (Croissant)
Totally agree
I don't know what's more bizarre, the leap of faith or the way he climbed down that building at 1:10.
Loving this! Very impressed. Addressing all the things that weren't great in the old games :D
Beautiful, finally. I had enough of the pirates.
i love that they put some of the dynamic elements that i have seen from watch dogs' world in this new AC's world like the random thievery events and the crimes makes the city and the people feel more real, they are seriously pulling off the 'dynamic' in this new dynamic world of theirs!
The scale is AWESOME!!!!!!!!
i love how you can actually enter a lot more buildings to discover more than in previous games
I am really looking forward to see the new "challenging" combat system.
It seems to me that the past games did not really gave us a reason to run away from open conflict.
Omg the way he got down from the building at the start was amazing
1:1 scale of the city? Holy shit.
I'm gonna miss the haystack
Haystacks will feature...they are as a part of AC as the hidden blade or the hood
If you listen to the commentary he says that with controlled decent, you don't necessarily HAVE to look for a haystack anymore, not that it is gone entirely. Besides, it's as much a trademark as the hidden blade in the series, it always features!
Haystacks will still be available, but just not as many.
a behind the scenes video confirms haystacks are still a viable source of counter realism
Insane real-time graphics!! Just wow!!
That parkour up and parkour down options in the leaked screenshots, earlier this year, make sense now.
Anyone here to remember how great a game this is now that you're not blinded by mass illusionment? Lol
I'm excited to learn more about Arno hopefully he is likable so far you can tell all of the Assassins apart by look and personality hopefully this continues with him
I really like that the combat in this game is a lot more harder and skilled
Hey, guys... Are you sure this whole gameplay demonstration wasn't just a cinematic clip. It was soo smooth, and the this, that, there ... T~T it's beautiful!
I seem to remember the fight with that lest guy at 2:45 taking significantly longer at the press conference.
1:09 Those movements are amazing
they have to work on the running - walking animation, its not gradual like in AC3 and 4, it looks a bit too unrealistic, he doesnt slow down, he just stops immediately

This is just perfect
The assassin that came at the end made it so badass
Damn the atmosphere seems great in this game. If you listen close when the assassin goes in for the air assassination, you can hear some of the crowd screaming in terror. I don't know if that will happen in the game, but that feels great!
4:22 - Something on chimney, animus fragment or the feathers are back???
wow the graphics, the flow of the game, the movement of characters is amazing. this game is going to take next gen by storm!
It's so amazing to see that they're doing a real AC game again. :D I've been waiting for this for years!

Perhaps. He mentioned that he hadn't unlocked the full power yet, so it might evolve from Eagle Pulse.
I'm so happy that the combat might actually be challenging
AC2 2!
Yeah !...It's looks like it could be the real Assassin's Creed game to match the Amazing Experience we had in Assassin's Creed 2
monŽir Ahmed Assassins Creed 2 was so great. Don't get me wrong, I love all and every Assassin's Creed game, but none ever gave me the feeling of Assassin's Creed 2. Everyone comment I see about it give me that tingly feeling.
Bob Saget Its a good life we live brother''the best''may it never change'' and may it never change us'' :))
Not even close to 2, 2 still better.
I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS
This is just awesome! I can't wait *_*
The ending was so badass... "I've just killed this guy, I'm out numbered, oh no, I'm not" *Cue dramatic music*
This is the ultimate Assassins Creed game!! Beatiful graphics, a good city for an AC game, crouch mode, downwards parkour, and the fact that they call it parkour and not Free-running. Because it is parkour. And did he really say 1:1 scale city?!??! HOLY FUCK!!
Is that big?
Levi Sanford I'm not sure what he meant, but he did say 1:1 scale!
GamePhysics 1:1 scale means that the map would be the ACTUAL size of Paris in 1789 PS:That's huge
donuking0 I know what it means. I was just wondering if I heard him correctly, because that is indeed huge.
GamePhysics indeed
oh my dear god..... i am amazed
Thank god they made combat more challenging!
Ikr I would take out mobs of people with my fists in ac4
I can't believe how beautiful this looks
Arno is the more stealthy deadly and more ruthless than any other assassin before him
Im gonna walk and walk through the streets of Paris. Do nothing just walk and enjoy the view. It"s like you are there! Amazing!
gameplay looks superb... visually it is rich and beautiful, as usual
murder in the sequence can be maintained we press the attack button with the run button, RT (Xbox). If we want to attack with combos, just press the attack buttons only
Holy shit, I got goosebumps near the end of the assassination...I hope it didn't disappoint like the third one
Am I the only guy that listen to this guy start listing all the awesome new stuff we'll be able to do in this game and then says "Fuck that quality new stuff we added, lets show all the shit you've already done like air assassination and climbing!"....
The new features look pretty awesome. Been waiting all this time for a stealth mode.
The highground feature with the icons is questioning for me, further it looks amazing!
OMFG I CANT WAIT!!! KEEP IT LIKE THIS INSTEAD OF PIRATES ECT!! This is amazing, Nuff said.
holy shit i love the new way they climb and go down buildings..whole new parkour system!
Loveing it, its looks amazing caint wait for October now
Watched this like 5 times now!
Spectacular as always...
will this be on current-gen like Black Flag was?
If you look at the end it will be for next gen consoles and PC, no PS3 and Xbox 360
Since Unity has things 360 and PS3 can't do, they are instead building a game for 360 and PS3 as a standalone title instead of a dummed downed version of Unity.
Prophet Theory pc is next gen pc=master race
Oh cool thats good to know Jared. I think ill just get it for pc then
they're next gen?
it looks really cool im counting the days left to be released
cant wait for this!
When did Eagle Vision become Eagle Pulse?
*****
AC:Unity starts off 6 years after Connor but Arno has nothing to do with the 'Desmond family line'. See Hannah from the Yogscast interview with Vincent Pointbriant, Senior Producer of AC:Unity 3 weeks ago.
Could be the best assassin's creed yet!! Love the scale of the city! Can't wait:D
Just noticed that when he fought the guard, there's no blood on the sword.
haha decided against french accent it seems :O Also, is the Co op integrated into the single player or something?
fuckin love the crowds in this one
"Combat is much more challenging in ACU. players will have to make good use their wit, tools and combat moves." - Easily kills guards by practically button mashing the attack button...
Awesome Trailer
Awesome Graphics
Awesome Assassins
This Is Going To Be One Awesome Game
bit confused, in the trailer/cover art arno has a beaked hood, yet in this 2:14 he doesn't?
TheFlynn32 I believe they're customization, if not, they simply changed it.
Spookyboy
yeah it's customized, in some of the new demos they changed his default hood to have a point on it
when comet will be revealed? can't wait for that
It is going to be EPIC!
OMFG I CAN'T WAIT!
This looks incredible, Co-op, 1:1 scale Paris, stealth mode and smooth, more capable climbing.
Really awesome game i just hope that they will bring back assassin recruiting and big battles.I like the new stealth system its actually cool, its not copied from watch dogs because games before watch dogs had that stealth system.I cant wait the game!!!
I agree completely
They should also make a revive of new futures of the game,
Can't wait
So extreme game, chopping people heads,i love it
graphics are amazing, really liking this game so far
I'm so hyped right now. that graphics
Connor has a chance to be here at full strength and age. This is only a couple of years after Tyranny.
Graphics look excellent! And so does all the new features, can't wait to play :-)
possible local multiplayer it looks like? having various colors on each assasin makes that a possibility, doesn't it?
is seen at the end of leaps of faith. I know it is hard to keep them with a more realistic proposition, but it is a tradition in Assassin's Creed. At least the water will ...
cant wait til it comes out
can you play online campaign because it looks like it but i am not shore if you can i have been asking for this for ages
The underpart of his robes are longer here than the final product
looks so amazing
To all french watching this video your city was quite something indeed the most beautiful at the time
I really hope they bring back something similar to the assassin graves, they said something about catacombs.
I'm so happy they re-created the gameplay in assassins creed unity. it's been the same from Assassin's Creed all the way to Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and it looks like it's going to be the same in Assassin's Creed Rogue as well.
Why does he have a British accent?
Well we don't know his background yet. Maybe he was raised in England.
Same reason they all do, except a few parts in Native Indian on AC3 and a few words in Italian and whatnot, the Animus can translate their voices so they speak in English, but some words slip through and still come out as the original language, like 'bene' or 'Requiescat in Pace'

Because Ubisoft are pretty dumb-asses.
Looks like this game lives up to the name AC.
Nice job, can't wait for it. \o/
I've never smiled at any game but this one. Must be a good one.
When AC2 came out it was the best as it had all these new features and felt revolutionary.... This though... this I cant wait for this, its going to be the new and improved assassins creed, finally they're getting back into what assassins creed is all about
