I have days like this where it feels like I'm landing tons of shots, but not getting the kills. It can be very frustrating. Then you get too kill hungry, and over extend
Fucking hell, tell me about it. FIVE games in a row the other night, I'm landing two ,three, four shots on people and they don't go down, and I get OHK. Love the headshots from 65+ meters with scopeless guns.
I think i emptied 2 full reloads of body shots from nagant officer to enemies at like, 30-40 meters. Didnt feel nice I had bomblance at the time to make quick work of bosses so that was my only long range option
Yeah this is why I refuse to sit still if I went into a match with shorter range guns. I am going to sprint at the building they are hiding in to get into a more optimal damage range than having my shots do 3 damage. It is pointless to take a long range gunfight with a guy that has a medium to long range weapon when you are running short to medium. I have pretty good success just rushing in if I know the other person has a slow medium/long range weapon and I am dual pistols or something.
@@vermods Five games? Those are rookie numbers. I'll play for hours (not an exaggeration) on end going from death to death to death to death to death to death. At the time of writing this I think I'm on a 15 match losing streak
"Hunt is a game where almost every death can be contributed to mistakes that you made at some point beforehand" This is both what makes the game so frustrating but also so rewarding. Almost every death is like "yup shouldn't have done that"
yup shouldn't play cross play PC players don't have weapon sway or recoil so playing against them on console is a mistake in the frist place or shooting a player who has 1000000 hours in the game and immediately headshot you
From my first hours I knew this game is the kind where you are noob until you hit 500 hours and I held myself to that standard. Now at 1k+ hours I can proudly call myself intermediate 😅
I found my aim improved a fair bit over the past few months by using trials as a firing range. Specifically Lawson Station, Slaughterhouse, and Nicholls Prison. Ignore the objective and just headshot grunts. While shooting at Hunters is obviously important, trials helped me with the pure mechanics of getting my sights to go where I want them to. A helpful thing I found is to pretend the grunts are Hunters. Snap shoot, flick shoot, adad spam, sprint after shooting, sprint and transition to a snap shot. Do all the things you would do in a fight.
Wow I just realized I almost never go for quick scopes / flicks, instead I ADS for far too long and hold angles, which gets me killed in fights far too often. Glad to see this topic being touched up on. I got a little over 1k hours in hunt. I am great at ambushing, flanking and rotating, but when it comes to down and dirty fights, I absolutely suck.
@notpc6981I do this when it’s the enemy doing this. You can just tell they have a scope on their gun just from the way they play. I refuse to play their game and just dip out.
Watching good players makes me realise my eyesight just isn't sharp enough to do well. Good players seem to aim using the force to me, I just can't see what they're aiming at!
For newer plays on the bottom half of the MMR pool: Use a Winfield and when the fight starts just start strafing back and forth as you try to hit your enemy, that will make you a lot better at aiming, as you move up in MMR you need to do more advanced strafe dodging. You don't need aim down sights in short range (~15-20 meters) fights, you fire faster when hip firing. Also to counter strafe dodging patiently wait until just after the enemy has switched direction and aim slightly more towards the direction they're heading. If you get hit run for cover if it is close by so you can heal, so try to keep cover closeby, try to never stand still, someone might be lining up your head at any time. Sprinting can be heard incredibly far, like on the other end of a compound far, if you approach a compound at regular speed you're much less likely to have someone waiting for you, similarly chicken and dog pens, as well as crows, can be heard to about the next compound over, avoid them to not start a fight on the enemies' terms. Also crouch walking isn't fully quiet, you can still be heard within ~10 meters if your enemy stands still and listens. The sensitvity matters a lot, on my 1600 cpi I run: default: 1.5 shoulder aim: 0.25 aim down sights/deadeye/marksman/aperature: 0.15 sniper: 0.10 Try to find your own sweetspot, but I can almost guarantee that what you think is fine doesn't work as well as you think.
steep learning curve because there is no bulldrop but there is bullet travel time and you often can't tell where your shots are landing. Probably a good idea to use one gun / one bullet speed and stick with it.
Since aim is offset in Hunt (lower than centre of screen) it really messes with your reflexes you might have picked up in other shooters. I always look too low because of this
This. in any other shooter I have a pretty good intutive idea where I am going to shoot without aiming but hunt really messes it up, even after 400 hours
There's 2 reasons for it The first, quality of life one: If ADS were perfectly centered like other shooter, the big guns would block too much of your screen. QoL, you need to actually see The second, balancing one: Mess with people who use preset crosshairs, specially because ADS have no RNG (except shotguns), just the shaking, and will always be aligned well at quick scope/ads unless you just quick-swapped. Also I don't think Crytek WANTS you to use the same reflexes you have on, let's say, CSGO, on Hunt Showdown. At most they try to use the same keys. Even the unorthodoxical "Shift to ADS in Hunter Controls" relates to games that you need to control your breath for accuracy (Sniper Elite, the Hunter, etc) that, IIRC, use shift for the breath control. More than control schemes, they don't care much on being similar with other shooters. BUT I guess that if enough people make a petition, they can make an option "Center ADS to the screen" maybe?
@@tiramin they should just make the weapon models smaller or take up less screen space then, instead of messing with crosshair placement. The reason _I_ heard they did this was so players wouldn't be staring at the ground so often, but whats the alternative? Staring up at the sky? Seems like its just replacing one problem with another at the end of the day.
@@yellowsaurus4895 I love how it is now aesthetically and balance-wise so I'm biased. I feel interacting and stuff like serpent have bad alignment tho. Now, what I hate: the game, in any moment, hints you that your head is actually above the camera. I found it in 4FS :) but poor me before realising it
Great tips, dude! I've been playing almost nothing but solo for the past several weeks and I believe it's helped me with my gaming. Especially with the gun fights. I've learned how to position and rotate a lot more efficient. Also, the tip you gave here on aiming is dead on. I actually became a sweaty six star last night lol. And I kinda hate it. 6 star matches have some of the sweatiest of sweats.
You forgot thing #4: Despite approaching a thousand hours into the game, your hands still shake during a gunfight and you miss even easy shots on stationary targets or enemies not focused on you because you can't stay calm. It makes me miserable that I still get stupidly nervous playing this game (cold sweat, blood draining from the body to the face, the previously mentioned shaky hands) and the only advice I got so far was "just don't take the game so seriously bro". Bruh. I would if I could. Though it used to be even worse because now I'm at least not constantly out of breath when I play. So I'm guessing another 1k hours and I'll may be able to finally aim properly without my own body sabotaging me.
Could be a depression under your skin, with me, that's what triggers the shakes. Before my depression my hands never shook Play some quickplay and try to talk to enemies ingame, that takes off pressure somehow Some dude said hey buddy, how are you doing, while simultaneously shotgunning me down. Scared the hell outta me , just as my brain went, hey, a friendly, my guard went down and so did my body Also, a good melee weapon like the cavalry saber, gives you selfesteem when cornered instead of most potatoe guns wich create stress. Try to scream ,, shiisshkebab hahaha,, as you successfully hit lol
I play with discord on and lollygagging all the time I hate playing solo because I felt what you wrote down. I don't really care if I win or lose, cold sweat, heart racing and hyperventilating are just aint fun.
Hahaha I still get panicked during fights after 500h but it doesn't seem to fuck me all the time. It's the reason I play, nothing else gives me that thrill.
Are you physically fit? Try some high intensity training and most importantly, focus on your breathing to get your heart rate under control. in through the nose, out through the mouth, count your breaths out to at least 5, maybe aim for 8-10.
Your strategy videos are pure gold. Finally, I will be able to explain (with examples) the "game sense" to my buddies who have not played a shooter in their life. Thank you so much! :D
Great video. Someone I used to play Tarkov with also taught me to always take a 90 degree on an enemy in relation to your team. I always think of this when people stack, then get wrecked.
I absolutely love this channel, the guides are so good and have helped me improve so much. About a month and a half ago, I decided to make a concerted effort to raise my KD, and thanks to videos like these it's gone from 0.52 to 0.88 in record time. As someone who uses a lot of shotguns, though, one area where I still struggle is safely trying to get within shotgun range. Like if I'm pushing a boss lair or if a fight breaks out at mid-to-long range in the woods between compounds. If possible, could you make an extension of your pushing guides talking about how to engage in close range without getting shot in situations like these? Great video regardless!
If you want to improve your aim make sure your FOV is not too high. I ran around with 110 fov at the beginning. Yes you see more at the edges but everything that is right in front of you is smaller. I lowered my fov to 90 which is a nice balance I think. (it basically zooms in the camera). Also the tipp with lowering my sensitivity help too.
Gonna check that when I get home later. I have the hardest time seeing hunters and with the 3D sound design peripheral isnt as important. I dont have that issue in any other game
Thank you for the video. As new play who only have had the game for five days my biggest problem is positioning. As most players I meet are much more experience with the game and the layout of the maps they easily navigate to a position I did not even know they can attack me from. This is something I can only learn the hard way.
Yeah that's me, here is hoping this video helps because I am one more match of getting wrecked while people insult me over comms from uninstalling and never touching this again. The biggest problem is you can't like, vent, or get help or anything- because the community is so damn toxic that if you admit you are struggling and frustrated, they will just double down on heavy abuse. It's one of the most inhospitable "communities" i've ever seen.
as a hunt player who struggled hard in the beginning. i've learned that it is a combination of what guns you run and skill level. keep eating dirt until you progress. it is easy to get "tunnelvision" when you are under pressure and all of us deal with this issue. literally human survival instinct i won't say im a pro. far from it. ill rather say that the steps i learned increased my likelyhood of survival 1. wait. 2. change positioning if you've been spotted, if you can. 3. don't stand in open windows 4. stamina shots are POG 5. don't be scared of engaging in combat, you have to eventually. just keep going for it. lastly bullettravel. if you're like me and enjoy sniping, learn the bullet travel based on the guns you're using and the ammo you equip. a sniper with slow M/S can be your downfall if you are unable to predict certain movement. but learning to use a slower M/S before you move on to faster is better if you want to get better at it
i look forward to every hunt video that you post. hands down my favorite bayou brother to watch play and teach the game. im 1100 hours in, and still love all your content. thank you for what you do bro
My aim could use work but I pretty much have the other two down to a passable level. The main thing that gets me killed these days is simply falling into tunnel vision and forgetting to use my consumables. Seriously, over half of my deaths these days come down to "well, I probably would have won if I'd thrown my flash in first."
I just started this game and I'm HOPELESS at it. I have yet to kill a single player, but I really dig this game and want to get decent at it so I'm STUDYING this game haha. Thanks for the tips.
I feel like I could have a funny dah just dying instantly and analyzing everyone. Some noobfights I witnessed made me laugh so hard Or people crawling around when everyone is dead lol
we all know why we are here, we dont want to be here but this is where we ended up. take solace in knowing that you are not the only person who is incapable of getting a headshot
In a funny note, for weeks when starting out Hunt I couldn't hit jack shit and kept getting insta headshot by people, then I discovered it was mostly down to a bit of misinformation my friends had told me, assholes said that Hunt had bullet drop and weapon innacuracy when moving so I was coming to a dead stop when taking aim at someone and that kept getting me killed, also didn't help that I was trying to compensate at longer ranges for bullet drop that didn't exist
Sorry for double comment but: Can you make a video about engaging and disengaging from close quarter shooting? Like and appendix to your pushing video but explaining how angular (or transversal) velocity works both when engaging and disengaging. Example: Enemy with a knive pursuing you, ready to swap to a gun because he can't catch up without exposing himself. You don't have the time to do a 180º because it involves slowing down and getting melee'd, BUT you can maneuver your way to counter him just because you can be transversally faster and harder to hit.
Playing to your primary’s range is also important. The team I play with and I have practiced not getting super close because of how rampant the shotgun meta is, and it’s helped. If it becomes apparent that someone is baiting us into a CQB fight, we don’t give it to them unless we’re kitted for it. It might be boring to back off and stalk the enemy from a distance, but most of the time other players are banking on impatience to push close-quarters fights so they can make use of how insane shotguns are.
This is good stuff and most of it I already know...and yet tonight when I go in I will peak that window for the third time convinced I got this guy and just need that last shot.
My main issue is my PC fucking me over with tons of performance issues and lag despite every attempt at optimising the game I’ve done so far. Feels good man.
I just want Crytek to release a true Free for all bounty hunt. I TIRED of getting ganged up by duo teams, my biggest weakness. That’s why I do quick play rift mode instead.
They already had a true solo mode. Twice actually. The second was a limited time event. It was absolutely AWFUL both times. Here's how a typical match would play out: Find boss lair & if you're brave, enter & kill/banish the boss. Pick up bounty, peek a window to see if it's safe to leave & get headshot by one of the 9 other players who are camping every possible lair exit & window. Because trying to leave the lair was a death sentence you would end up with all players camped around the compound, waiting for one poor schmuck to go in & kill the boss. These standoffs would often last 30+ mins. As a predominantly solo player myself I was excited when they introduced those solo only hunts, but it is WAY easier playing vs duos (and even trios) than that mess was.
@@shifty7629 Its funny how a trio is easier to take down as a solo then a duo. But I think it comes to fact that trios need more coordination to make good use of their numbers.
In one bounty I experienced something odd. I entered the blanc brinery compound and encountered a solo hunter on the roof standing still. I took aim with my rifle (Mosin Obrez Drum), aiming down sights and went for a headshot. Missed. I aimed and fired again. Missed. Aimed for an upper torso shot and missed the next two shots. The enemy hunter, then fired back from the hip and hit me easily. I dodged and retreated. He fired 3 shots total. All from the hip and all 3 hit me. Dead. I spectated him to see if he was cheating. Two more hunters (duo?) entered the same way I did. He aimed down sights and attempted to headshot the hunter at the rear who was in the open. He missed. He aimed for an upper torso shot and missed. That hunter ran to cover. He switched to the nearer hunter who was now shooting at him partly behind cover. They traded shots and the hunter I was spectating missed every shot he fired and the enemy hunter hit every shot he fired. The same thing that had happened to me. I'm left with this, shot accuracy has little to do with skill, aiming or weapon choice. Aiming down sights correctly and within range should hit 100%. Every time, but that doesn't happen. Something else that we cannot control determines whether we CAN hit our enemy hunter target or not. Is this something in the game programming? I know desync is a huge problem, but when you and your target are not moving that should not be a factor.
not winning Gun fights no matter what. Is the reason I quite playing Hunt. There is a great deal of games I can play and have much more fun. Hunt is Just a waist of time in all regards for me. And Ruins my Mood.
10-25 inches per 360 degrees is a good range for mouse sensitivity, virtually all esports players use sensitivity within that range or slower. Only 1% of CSGO pros have a sensitivity quicker than that. I'll try to link the spreadsheet in a reply incase YT flags it.
For my case, I use a literal rule of thumb: My hand and forearm are thinner from most of the people, so I just think "I want to move the diameter of my thumb to do a 90°", so I just look there my thumb was and where it is now and adjust it accordingly.
Hey 4FS, not sure if this is covered elsewhere but can you maybe do a video on how to assault Fort Carmick? I feel like that’s (by design) one of the best-defensible compounds, especially in quick play when someone can get stuck in the northern keep with the ladder. I have 150hrs so far and I struggle mightily with this.
Just ran in to Misogyny and yourself at Healing Waters. My apologize to Mis for the saber stab, and you had a beautiful clutch shot with the Lebel. Well played, much love, and see you in the bayou x
I win the majority of my gun fights and even the ones I lose I hit first mainly because I can't grasp shotguns in this game. I don't know if it's because for some reason I get put on West Coast surface a lot or what. But I get so many hit markers with shotguns. Don't get me wrong there are some days where it's working pretty well but there are days where I'll hit a guy when he's not looking get a hit marker and he'll turn and kill me with a shotgun from the same distance. Every other type of gun I kind of grasp how many shots if it's going to kill if it's not but the shotguns I cannot understand. it feels so inconsistent
Each shotgun has a different range at which it shines, and getting a feel for that is pretty important. But yeah, I try and avoid shotguns and other close range loadouts when playing with mates overseas. However you can switch off your secondary server so you never have to play on a higher ping server.
One thing that gets me killed a lot lately is what I like to call, overleading my shots, it feels like all my shots miss because I always aim slightly more to the side of the enemy hunter's head. This has caused me to go for body shots mostly which gets me killed during trades because, while my shots land they fail to kill and I get domed.
A big thing for me seems to just be concentration. If the day is right and I can focus on everything I'm doing in-game (Everything from checking critical lines of sight, not overpeeking, not being overly agressive, moving in a way that makes me harder to headshot etc.), then I'm gonna do just fine, but sometimes it's just not one of those days and you should either take a break or do whatever helps you focus. For me it's usually coffee or some pushups or whatnot. But still, with time you learn to accept that you will often do a lot worse than you have the potential for and that's fine, that's just life. I have 1300hrs and I still have around one or two days a week where I just get one tapped constantly, and to prevent me from smacking my desk I have learned to stop playing as soon as it starts happening hahah
I can't win gunfights, because there's never a gunfight. I'm always shot in the back from some bush camper with a sniper rifle. That's why I hate the PVP in Hunt. I want a PVE Bounty Hunt Co-op mode.
I kind of hate how bunny hopping and jumping around works. I feel like movement should have a bit more inertia and walking/strafing with ADS should cause a bit of extra sway
Hint #4 it’s always the guns fault, not yours, so constantly switch weapons and playstyles until you get lucky and then ride that wave of success until once again you lose every gunfight and repeat the cycle
I have been watching your videos for about two weeks now and I gotta saw great content and I was thinking. Could you make a video on different hit markers? Specifically sounds and hit markers. (Headshot sound, death cries, poison hit marker etc.)
I liked the video, just wanted to make a suggestion for future stuff like this: give your screen texts a black outline. the white text often disappears or is hard to read depending on what else is on screen, with a black outline there's no such issue. it's just a minor nitpick, but I noticed it during the vid and thought I wanna mention it. but besides that, good tips and well put.
One thing I’m trying to do more is when I see top level players play once they fire at a target they instantly move they almost are moving while firing and behind cover when the shit hits
I can't win gunfights because the moment the player is aware of where I am and I am in open space or behind a wooden wall from up to 500 meters away I get headshot.
But with the hunter controls you habe to right click mouse and then shift for first aim...that seems too much clicks for me...what are your recommendations about hunter controls? Which are ether best configurations for that scheme? Great video well explained
After a recent update the two control schemes have enough options that they are essentially the same. As long as you have 3 different FoV setting for weapon down, hip fire, and ADS respectively, a mouse button mapped to melee, and remeber to lower your weapon so it doesn't poke through cover you will be good to go. Hunter does all these automatically, but it takes a bit more work in the settings with gunslinger. The two commands to ADS with Hunter is negligible, you just press them at the same time and you'll go straight to ADS by the time your weapon comes up.
I have about 500 hours in this game right now. Because of your guides I got way better than I was before, but when I face 6 MMR people I mostly die. I think 5 MMR is the perfect MMR for me at the moment.
Honestly this is probably why hunt will never be very big. At some point all these things cause players to leave. Along with the aimbot that is prevalent. The lack of mm on soul survivor doesnt make it better. No one is really going to spend a hundred hours playing when its just not fun.
My personal tip. Is well. U play other fps games. Ur muscle memory is used "crosshair in the middle" while in hunt the crosshair is in the lower half. And i noticed. In almost 90% of my game. I dont kill shots bec i keep hitting the leg when flicking. Cuz of my muscle memory used to the middle of the screen not the lower half. Simple.
Dudes,my advice is:use cheap dual pistols and a sawed off shotgun This way you will become more careful with hipfire and therefore git gud in close range gunfights Also I find dualies+shotgun a pretty fun loadout for close combat If u run out of shotgun ammo, switch to dualies and spam bullets and vice versa Also remember that every hit makes enemy's aim bounce off so shotguns are still a bit dangerous at distance in case u need to run away and hide/finish a dying opponent with low hp
The issue is that it hard caps your ability to fight against decent opponents, without the ability to flick headshots at different distances you won't learn that skill, and will struggle against competent enemies.
@@4FSGaming well as I said it's a totally close range loadout I'm bad at shooting heads at distance therefore I find stealthy approach with shotgun and dualies for the case when something goes wrong better than stuff that's used by "competent opponents" I never understood how people fo headshots on non stationary targets and I think never will so rifles aren't my thing
The biggest problem I've seen in fights, is people using wall hacks. You will be out of los, 90m away and behind 7 different bushes, and somehow, a guy will see you through all of that and line up a perfect headshot with iron sights.
Ive gotta say ive found really huge differences on regions, I dunno why but I find US east rly easy servers to play on. Try europe and u will get demolished for some reason
You forgot confidence, if you're old enough, a couple of sneaky scotches b4 a game session can really help, to many though... Again alcohol is the solution to another problem, is there anything it can't do? Hunt kDa>liver health.
Edit after watching the video: Is supressing fire as important as rotating? For example, shooting a peak spot like a window so your teammates can relocate. MY problem: Most of my kills are from melee ambushes from flanking, usually with romero hatchet but sometimes with 2 quick stabs to the torso or one knife headshot. I'm posting it before seeing the video, I may edit it. Also, when I DO kill someone by shooting it's either with a specter (yes, the specter). I also got assists by supressing fire, so I think "As long as I can pin someone, my teammate can get the perfect shot"
@@mariongonzalez2621 I think agressive CQC play is not a bad idea as long as you do it the right way. When you go to CQC you have the advanced of angular (or transversal) speed relative to your target. Romero Hatched with his precise strong attack works wonders. Plus, if you're experienced in close fights, you're probably more used to quick turns (negating your target's transversal against you). Basically, 4FS pushing tutorial in a nutshell.
Unless you have a gun that penetrates the cover your enemy is hiding behind, there really doesn't seem to be a point to use "suppressing fire" imo. You can watch the window or angle, but constantly firing in the same spot is just pinging to everyone in the engagement where you are. The longer you spend there, the more time you're giving someone else to relocate on you.
@@jcloudy8508 Good point, but maybe there is a situation where supressing a window or a bad cover is useful, maybe an exception to the rules. But well, now firebombs can deny a window for 2 minutes, maybe it's a better option.
@@tiramin if it's not metal they're hiding behind, it can be useful with long ammo guns! They shoot thru most of the cover we have in the game. So you could suppress the opening they're using, or if you got a tag, keep shooting the wall/place you think they hid behind, you might get a cheeky wall bang 😉
Always a tightrope to walk with aim really. Sometimes, taking the extra second to aim during an exchange will win the fight because it landed the killing blow and sometimes it is what got you killed, though part of knowing is also taking note of your opponents; are they panic shooting and just letting loose wildly? Are they also taking time to line up shots? These are things that also play into improvement. And the big one: Play what works for you. It is good to explore other weapons and go into uncomfortable zones (personally been trying to use the Sparks...ugh I...ahem...hate that weapon...feels so clunky) however if you are getting success with hitting shots on a winfield but can't hit dick with a mosin, don't fret it. End of the day, the best way to improve is to enjoy the game so play what you love...unless that is being a little bush wookie try-hard sweatlord in which case...have fun! Hope you have good games. Didn't expect that did you?
I practice defensive movement pretty regularly, but I have trouble orienting myself in the game space. I have good map knowledge of the first 2 maps, but any time I rotate to another piece of cover, I end up losing or being unsure of the other player's last location (partly due to similar assets within compounds), which leads to me to resetting back to neutral rather than getting an advantage. Anybody have advice for keeping track of where people are while rotating?
after 3k hours in the game i still sometimes have some days that i get instantly headshot by every bad player i meet, even when i position myself well and have good movement and aim none of it is going to save you from RNG spam, its just something you have to accept that you cant predict stupid so playing well against some bad 1kd 5 stars is actually a bad strategy. the most consistent strategy for me is to be passive and defensive for the first moments of the fight just to read your opponent a little, and then go hyper agressive on them to apply pressure and cause panic. huge majority of players will start to panic fairly easily and if you keep applying pressure giving them no room and time to heal, their aim will go to shit from shaky hands, their positioning will become random because they arent focusing, and you get free kills.
Just the other day i started thinking about quitting Hunt and ... this video seems like a personal attack to that. Meme aside, what im personally struggling with is ( outside of being incapable of hiting a target at 50+ meters i mean ) the micro decisions that i have to make or the ones i have to predict from my enemies. Which is why i find it a bit sad that you dont have at least no commentary and uncut matches from you 4FS, because a lot of what you say makes a lot of sense but i feel the examples you provide are too cherry picked and i usually dont find myself in the complete same situations as you are meaning its harder to apply it. Like i keep hearing about dont peak the same place twice and move after shooting, but when i apply this principle to my enemies or people who i watch play the game... this seems like a trap. I cant tell you how many times i figured the enemy wont be fool enough to peak from same spot again after i or my teammate just hit him, but when i duck out to look around: Lo and behold the enemy is peaking from the same place ( or just literally standing in the same spot in the open ) and im dead. I appearently did the right tactic, but i still got punished for it. Same thing when enemies go to the open. I see pros and enemies who are suppose to be avarage at my skill level take massive risks on open fields and rooftops and get away with or when they go for an instant revive in a somewhat view blocked place. When i try this i get headstotted 2 second in. So even if i was a much better long range shooter, no matter if i do the exact same tactic as people better than me i always get punished for it while the enemies get away with it.
From my experiences, if you're facing a lot of players who don't apply the tips, punish them. Watch that window, keep pressuring those people out in the open, wait for the revive to drop them again. It's those micro decisions as you said that come up. Needing to have a plan for both someone playing smart and someone playing dumb. Are you in a position that's safe for either decision by your opponent? Which choice is riskier to you at that moment, and what can you do to punish it? I know I say all these things, but I'm horrible at it. Like I can't read people worth a damn.

"Hunt is a game where almost every death can be contributed to mistakes that you made at some point beforehand"
This is both what makes the game so frustrating but also so rewarding. Almost every death is like "yup shouldn't have done that"
"yup, should have had better aim"
@@gamesinmybrain1317 yup, shouldn’t have played console
Jup shouldnt put it there, the hive was not happy!
yup shouldn't play cross play PC players don't have weapon sway or recoil so playing against them on console is a mistake in the frist place or shooting a player who has 1000000 hours in the game and immediately headshot you
Sometimes your only mistake was playing hunt today, Make sure your well rested and hydrated, otherwise your skill may absolutly TANK.
I'll repeat a good advice someone told me in game; dont hesitate and commit once decided on a move.
There's a lot of exceptions to this quote but is conveniente for this context: "Not shooting is the same as missing but without trying"
I’ve been playing Hunt for around 300 hours and I still feel like I have much to learn. Thanks for the tips in the video! I’ll try utilise them!
It took me 1000 hours to get a net positive KDA
@@sociallyresponsiblexenomor7608 Whew thanks for saying that, I thought Im awful for barely clinging onto positive and ive 160hrs
From my first hours I knew this game is the kind where you are noob until you hit 500 hours and I held myself to that standard. Now at 1k+ hours I can proudly call myself intermediate 😅
@@sociallyresponsiblexenomor7608did you play solo a lot or were you jus not good at gunfights?
How do you have 1k hours and not know this? Like after 20 games I realized this.
@@PandemicGameplay people learn at different paces
@@PandemicGameplay
@@PandemicGameplay this depends also on the region, interestingly I find whole two different playstyles work very different ways on different regions
For newer plays on the bottom half of the MMR pool:
Use a Winfield and when the fight starts just start strafing back and forth as you try to hit your enemy, that will make you a lot better at aiming, as you move up in MMR you need to do more advanced strafe dodging.
The sensitvity matters a lot, on my 1600 cpi I run:
default: 1.5
shoulder aim: 0.25
aim down sights/deadeye/marksman/aperature: 0.15
sniper: 0.10
Try to find your own sweetspot, but I can almost guarantee that what you think is fine doesn't work as well as you think.
steep learning curve because there is no bulldrop but there is bullet travel time and you often can't tell where your shots are landing. Probably a good idea to use one gun / one bullet speed and stick with it.
Good Video man! Obviously I win all my fights so I didn't need the advice, just checking how everyone else wins all their fights... obviously...
There's 2 reasons for it
The first, quality of life one: If ADS were perfectly centered like other shooter, the big guns would block too much of your screen. QoL, you need to actually see
The second, balancing one: Mess with people who use preset crosshairs, specially because ADS have no RNG (except shotguns), just the shaking, and will always be aligned well at quick scope/ads unless you just quick-swapped.

Way to be!
Before my depression my hands never shook
Play some quickplay and try to talk to enemies ingame, that takes off pressure somehow
Some dude said hey buddy, how are you doing, while simultaneously shotgunning me down. Scared the hell outta me , just as my brain went, hey, a friendly, my guard went down and so did my body
Also, a good melee weapon like the cavalry saber, gives you selfesteem when cornered instead of most potatoe guns wich create stress. Try to scream ,, shiisshkebab hahaha,, as you successfully hit lol
I play with discord on and lollygagging all the time
I hate playing solo because I felt what you wrote down.
For me, it takes some warm up. The first couple of fights are tense, but after a while I loosen up and don't get so panicky.
I don't even get to the fight part, just get headshot through a wall and wonder what's up
makes me wish for a killcam but I just know that would make the servers worse than they already are
Your strategy videos are pure gold.
It's one of the most inhospitable "communities" i've ever seen.

as a hunt player who struggled hard in the beginning.
i've learned that it is a combination of what guns you run and skill level.
keep eating dirt until you progress. it is easy to get "tunnelvision" when you are under pressure and all of us deal with this issue. literally human survival instinct
i won't say im a pro. far from it. ill rather say that the steps i learned increased my likelyhood of survival
1. wait.
2. change positioning if you've been spotted, if you can.
3. don't stand in open windows
4. stamina shots are POG
5. don't be scared of engaging in combat, you have to eventually. just keep going for it.
lastly bullettravel. if you're like me and enjoy sniping, learn the bullet travel based on the guns you're using and the ammo you equip. a sniper with slow M/S can be your downfall if you are unable to predict certain movement. but learning to use a slower M/S before you move on to faster is better if you want to get better at it
i look forward to every hunt video that you post. hands down my favorite bayou brother to watch play and teach the game. im 1100 hours in, and still love all your content. thank you for what you do bro
I've been playing for hundreds of hours but I'm always up for some good advice!
My aim could use work but I pretty much have the other two down to a passable level. The main thing that gets me killed these days is simply falling into tunnel vision and forgetting to use my consumables. Seriously, over half of my deaths these days come down to "well, I probably would have won if I'd thrown my flash in first."
This is me exactly except my aim is crap too
I just started this game and I'm HOPELESS at it. I have yet to kill a single player, but I really dig this game and want to get decent at it so I'm STUDYING this game haha. Thanks for the tips.

My problem is that I panic when I see another player..
we all know why we are here, we dont want to be here but this is where we ended up. take solace in knowing that you are not the only person who is incapable of getting a headshot
I never get headshots but my playstyle makes up for it
Like bro the past few days ive been on a roll with the bow and arrow and DB handcannon slugs
My recommendation for aiming is confidence. Dont be afraid of missing.
you talk about moving and shooting fast without lining up shots, but all clips show exactly that, long periods without even strafing and holding ads
I co-sign this. This is what I have seen friends need to improve when they are struggling.
Sometimes your enemy is just to good

This is true.
Certainly worth looking in to!
Guilty. I am to impatient.
Sawn-off Romero :D
For me it took about 250h to not feel so nervous anymore. It was like a switch that changed my feeling suddenly.
What I really discovered recently is that hip fire is very effective
This is good stuff and most of it I already know...and yet tonight when I go in I will peak that window for the third time convinced I got this guy and just need that last shot.
Learning curve has always been high. I didn’t get my first kill until after dying 45 times literally. Now I got a respectable 1.5 kd
Even great tips like this can't save you from the pure blindness of night-time

Wtf is wrong with you?
@@ezkimus6104 I completely disagree. Teams of two is easy mode for me
@@shifty7629 That sounds absolutely disgusting and boring as hell to play.

A guide for me, finally!
If It is a close range gunfights, I rush them with a melee weapon
I feel called out by this title
@@4FSGaming yeah, the German mates overseas don’t appreciate the shotgun. I think it’s against their moral code or something.
Setting your crosshairs to be at “neutral” level for lining up shots reminds me of Metal Gear Online. Totally different game but similar advice
Why is he literally not doing any of the things hes talking about? Is all the footage like the dont do this stuff?
Let's talk about those crispy grenade throws :D
every time I watch your videos I feel like half of it just flies over my head
Maybe Im doomed to suck
I can't win gunfights, because there's never a gunfight. I'm always shot in the back from some bush camper with a sniper rifle. That's why I hate the PVP in Hunt. I want a PVE Bounty Hunt Co-op mode.
This.
I kind of hate how bunny hopping and jumping around works. I feel like movement should have a bit more inertia and walking/strafing with ADS should cause a bit of extra sway
4:29 I like to look down and and away from my opponent
protip that's save me alot of deaths recently. never peek the same window once you've had fire returned to you.
Hey man, I just got the game and your videos are a godsend. I was wondering if you ever play with fans? Id love to team up and learn some things
Just reading the title I knew this video is for me.
Great video. If I can make an editing suggestion, outline your words in lettering in black to make it easier to read over the changing scenery
@@4FSGaming thanks that was very helpful

Simple.
Dudes,my advice is:use cheap dual pistols and a sawed off shotgun
This way you will become more careful with hipfire and therefore git gud in close range gunfights
Also I find dualies+shotgun a pretty fun loadout for close combat
If u run out of shotgun ammo, switch to dualies and spam bullets and vice versa
Also remember that every hit makes enemy's aim bounce off so shotguns are still a bit dangerous at distance in case u need to run away and hide/finish a dying opponent with low hp
The issue is that it hard caps your ability to fight against decent opponents, without the ability to flick headshots at different distances you won't learn that skill, and will struggle against competent enemies.
@@4FSGaming well as I said it's a totally close range loadout
I'm bad at shooting heads at distance therefore I find stealthy approach with shotgun and dualies for the case when something goes wrong better than stuff that's used by "competent opponents"

Same, I win almost every close engagement with a talon'ed romero. Anything beyond slug range and I'm fucked.
Awesome video! Question tho - how is your footage so clear? What do you use to record?
Just the NVIDIA shadowplay, but it's on a high resolution monitor which probably helps.
@@4FSGaming ahhh gotcha cause I’m using shadowplay too and I’m getting mixed results
Maybe ping them
after 3k hours in the game i still sometimes have some days that i get instantly headshot by every bad player i meet, even when i position myself well and have good movement and aim none of it is going to save you from RNG spam, its just something you have to accept that you cant predict stupid so playing well against some bad 1kd 5 stars is actually a bad strategy. the most consistent strategy for me is to be passive and defensive for the first moments of the fight just to read your opponent a little, and then go hyper agressive on them to apply pressure and cause panic. huge majority of players will start to panic fairly easily and if you keep applying pressure giving them no room and time to heal, their aim will go to shit from shaky hands, their positioning will become random because they arent focusing, and you get free kills.
