You think you can trick me into not using double poison crossbows and a full set of spyglasses and flash bombs? Won’t work on me, everyone knows that’s the real meta
My friends and I once encountered a team with full poison crossbows. We only found out they had this after we got stuck in a small building, and our opponents started poisoning every square inch of the interior. It was hilarious and a nightmare all at once.
Honestly one of the few things new players simply have to find out is finding the weapon they can handle the best. Like for whatever reason I've been more successful with a Martini Henry or even a Springfield than I've been with a Sparks, I love the Sparks but I don't seem to hit much with it. Finding a weapon that you feel comfortable with is the best advice I can give to new players
The iron sights for the sparks is a tad to chunky for my liking. I would pick the martini henry over the sparks every time, Sparks doesn't unlock a one shot bayonet and that shit comes in clutch when you are in CQC inside buildings and such.
@@akooma3694 this is actually interesting now because it’s been 3 months since I wrote this comment. In those 3 months I played a lot with the sparks and also learned how to play it more efficiently. You basically keep your distance at all times, when people try to get close you run back, shoot and run back. You drain their meds and then finish them off. I still love the martini tho as it’s a more aggressive version of the sparks especially if you have the riposte variant. I definitely wouldn’t fight with a sparks inside buildings, usually when I play in teams I just stay outside and watch and if we’re being attacked I rotate go a better position where I can fall back if I have to.
The martini has in my opinion more responsive sights and the reload is more intuitive for follow up shots. As much as cocking the hammer back doesn't seem an issue it really screws up your target tracking. The sparks are only really the best in long range situations compared to where the martini can hit from medium to even close range especially if you have the bayonet. The Springfield has a fairly speedy reload than the sparks but suffers the same inability to do maintain good follow ups.
Dual Caldwell Pax is fairly reasonable at medium range. Ofcourse I'd much rather have something with iron sights but the volume of fire, decent penetration value and okay accuracy help offset precision to some degree.
I got headshotted by a guy with duel nagant suppressors from like 90 meters away, literally the next game the same thing happened but through a concertina bomb
I am so glad you mentioned the nagant precision! Befinner-friendly and very fun+satisfying. I love bringing Caldwell rival/pax as well as crossbow/pax. Thanks for the ever-exceptional hunt content!
So after the last comment you made about frag bombs and meta slaves I would be curious to hear your thoughts on frag bombs post nerf. After the last patch I've found a huge increase in nonlethal hits with frag bombs and have moved to dynamite bundles due to a perception of greater consistency, but that's just my hunch based on personal experience. I'd be curious to see a more empirical approach and this channel has gone above and beyond at providing an in depth look at the mechanics of Hunt.
I messed around in training to measure lethal distances of frags v bundles, and and frags still have a massive kill radius advantage, they are about on par with big bundle in that regard, but you can throw them much further. I've been meaning to make a video on comparing radius of different explosives, but they keep changing every patch!
@@4FSGaming Thanks for the speedy reply! A video on the workings of explosives would be appreciated if crytek go for a patch without changing frag bombs. :P After the last patch I'm curious what counts as "full cover". I love the Winfield for playing solo. The Levering trait is a MUST. I've just recently started using the Winfield again and have taken out every Duo I've come across as a solo. The trick is to hipfire quickly as only 2 shots will down them, and you have 15 in the Winfield.
I find it funny that you mentioned the poison crossbow, as I just used it for the first time a couple of days ago, and I had a good laugh seeing immolators and others huge AI going to sleep silently. I know it's a useless weapon in PvP and I don't plan to take it as a common choice, but I feel like it's the best choice to unlock all the greater crossbows for somone like me with a pretty bad aim or low reflexes.
I noticed a lot of free hunters will come with two short range weapons, like a combat axe and romero hand cannon combination. That's why I think a lot of new players or cheap players try to start up a game with a loadout like that and would be screwed in a mid or long range fight.
Since they've changed it to require a small slot now, rather than medium (and equip up to two different bolts), the hand crossbow is significantly more viable. I pair it with the regular winfield (with high velocity rounds). Poison is great against all bosses like you say (apart from spider), and then the regular bolts I can switch to in CQC for some tasty meme kills
Hey! Was just reading through comments and was wondering how this was going. Just did the same thing with my friend but we are waiting until I get back from a trip to play together. Any tips?
I freaking love the Winfield. It’s got a solid fire rate, large internal magazine, and rewards you for your accuracy. I keep a handcannon on me for when people try to aggressively push on my location. Works like a charm. I try to have the levering trait as well to give me the edge if I can’t switch to my shotty in time. See you in the bayou, ladies and gents!
I'm fairly new, and I've been having a huge amount of success with the dual chainpistols, because they're very very forgiving. They reach out further than the reticle suggests, and they let you disregard such mechanics as reloading and waiting before shooting for a fairly long time. Think less, shoot more. The short lever-actions have served me good otherwise for reaching out a bit more, or a springfield since I seem to always get them on my free hunters.
3:35 Glad to see I'm not the only one with questionable hit registration recently. Slowing the video down, that second shot was dead center on the chest but still didn't register. I wonder if it's related to the new change that lets you sprint out of a shot immediately.
if you slow down and watch frame by frame you can see the weapon sways left right at the exact moment of the shot. Add that to the bullet travel time and it makes sense to be a miss
Winfield/Nagant Standard tools like knife/flare/medkit Weak Vit shot x2, but pick up consumables at tool boxes (I almost never need more than 2 vit shots no matter what level). With the current changes to pistol sway, I opted for Winfield and Vetterli more now because it allows you to shoot more without the movement of locking you in place when you're about to quick swap from a single shot weapon. Sparks, martini, and springfield feel clunky unfortunately, everything else feels great.
Late to the party, but the Vetterli Bayonet is my go-to. I like pairing it with an Uppercut or a Pax but honestly it could probably go with anything and I’d love it all the same. Double conversion pistols are my go to choise for close to medium range in a cheap loadout. It's just 25 + 25 dollars. They're the most accurate pair with a decent damage. Usually pair them with Vandal or Obrez. My KDA has increased a lot since I started using them often.

I also like to do a sparks or martini with a flechette caldwell rival. tag em with the rifle then just launch the rival downrange, almost guranteed mid-range kills with no real need to aim the follow up as well as you'd need to an uppercut.
this is a very good guide, but some of this is pc exclusive. on console just a melee weapon and frags is all you need. Aiming with joysticks is very difficult to do and there is next to no aim assist on console which means people will shoot in circles around you. with a little finesse and some cover its easy. even more so if you have the element of surprise. its literally all I've done for 10 prestiges. I've made people rage so hard they tell me they are deleting the game, especially people who blow 2k on expensive loadouts with tons of bombs, traps, and pricy guns like avtomat and dolches. mean while my loadout is a bomb lance, 2 frags and a medkit for less than 500 bucks 🤣😅
Console is a really different game from what I've heard, on PC using melee is still fine against completely new players, but anyone with a headset and average aim will cut you down pretty easily.
honestly any weapon is viable in this game pretty much any rifle is a 2 shot within a compound, where most fights are fought. ive been playing solo and play mostly the cheap loadouts and am having a ton of success. having just today killed both bosses and iirc 7 players with just the crossbow and that shorty remeo shotgun with quartermaster and the quick bandage trait
I would have loved a loadout with the hand crossbow...it makes travelling silently much easier for newer players that arent that experienced with the ai and is criminally underrated in pvp..
I'd put it in the same category as the medium slot shotguns or dual pistols, It's a great close combat weapon, but trades ease of use for utility in that you can use it like a tool as well.
I just got this game today, I know this guide is like 4 months old I think so it might be dated but idk. But I use a winfield (suppressed) and a hand crossbow idk if that is good but that is the guns I use but I got a 8 kill game with it
I typically find for running relatively budget loadouts that the best things to take in your tools / consumables slot is, in order, a knife, medkit, fuses and chokes, and again in order, dynamite, firebomb, a vitality shot (weak optional), and then either poison, stamina, or another vitality shot based on my weapons of choice. It's a relatively easy setup, your gear is always exactly where you need it to be for quickly swapping to and using it, and it gives you a healthy spread of equipment to be able to respond to a variety of situations.
I feel that one of the things new players should be taught to do quickly is to standardize your loadouts. A few junior players I've partnered with have been killed because they forgot they put their knife in slot 5 instead of slot 3 when they were being pushed, and while it seems like a really obvious thing I even caught myself occasionally forgetting where I put my damn knife when I ran into a dog squad. Simple practices can go a long way to ensuring your victory, or at least your survival.
@@armoredscout3773 that’s honestly something I got into quick with my medkit, knife (if I have one since I like running bayonets), dusters, and vitality shots The bombs can be wherever, but those four will always be in the same spot
*Me who's been playing since the alpha* mhmm yes this information will greatly help me *looks at my pile of avtomats and dolches*. (Really though I'm sending this to my friends who I convinced to buy the game because of the sale).
Thanks for the video! But I doubt it will help me since I'm a complete trash at this game and I'm unable to kill even stationary targets Btw I love Vetterli and Nagant Officer
I have over 400 hrs and I still do not "make loadouts" If I see a free hunter with dual wield pistols and a romero handcanon I just grab that add a medkit/knife and 3-4 small vitality shots. Go in kill someone and jack their loadout. I do this until level 60 then I splash my cash on meta loadouts every time til I can prestige. For whatever reason I seem to win games more often when I go in with free hunters and just steal someone else's guns after I kill them, If I die who cares, I will have only spent 100-200 coins. Best way to play for new player IMO, no need to waste your money on loadouts when you are going to inevitably die because you don't even know the maps/compounds.
Simple sweaty load out we're I killed mostly buy is the vetterli and an officer I hate the way they look but sweet Jesus mid range your a beast just a very sweaty set up as everyone is running this
Im Rank 100 and i have about 27k hunt dollars. I'm so bored and can't wait to prestige for the first time but I want to get the achievment for getting 5 hunters to level 50. I've nearly got my second hunter to level 50.
You said that you like to use Romero Hatchet. Isn't it much worse than Handcannon? I'm not sure if it is just a mistake in weapon description or it has only 85 dmg in 10 meter chest shot, while Handcannon has 140 in same distance. Have you checked it and can you tell me if there is still such a big difference?
Yeah it's far worse than the handcannon. You need to think of it more like a machete that has a shotgun option. That's why I only really use it as a fall back weapon, to bait people around corners, as it just doesn't have the range for pushing.
Didn't it get buffed a few patches ago, though? I feel it's still a bit weaker than the handcannon but imo it's more reliable than before. I like it. Then again, I'm a hipster who likes using odd weapons, so don't take my word on it. :D
I run a single shot sniper rifle and saber to great effect. That said I have also been punished for running that loadout. The key to success with the saber is to maker certain you have in game voice turned on, snipe at the enemy while acting like you want them to keep their distance, then yell "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!" when they try to rush you with pistols or shotguns and you cut them all down before they can recover.
Now i know you hate the poison handbow but here me out. While you have absolutely nothing medium range and above a handbow and a poison hand bow is probably the best meme loadout. An almost higher fire rate than the dolch if you quick swap and you also have a disoriented opponent. All for the the price of not winning many games. Combine that with bolt thrower and you can easily clear a camping duo team. As long as your partner distacts them
I'm a new player and bought the deluxe edition, do the characters you get from the deluxe edition stay with you forever or do they get lost as soon as you die with them ?
After you exit trainee mode when a hunter dies, they stay dead. The fact that the deluxe edition comes with DLC content means you have additional legendary hunters unlocked, and can continue to re-hire them for 333 hunt dollars.
hi new player to this game looks fun and i know ive alot to learn, just wonderd the store weapons etc, is this a pay to win. like if i buy better gear does that help ? also can i lose it forever ??? thanks

And here I am thinking I don't do it enough! So many deaths over the last year have left me thinking "Should have pressed Q". I'm in a bad habit of taking the second shot when using mosin/lebel, it seems I can only QS properly when using single shot rifles.
Tell me more about how effective it is to spend 4 seconds reloading your sparks instead of pressing Q. He's heavy handed on it because even post nerf it's an essential skill for all single shot weapons Only noobs who are bad at the game and will always remain bad at the game are hostile to pressing Q.
@@JRedAoE Meh, single-shot rifles were completely fine before Crytek botched the game's pacing with the increased swap speeds. Truth be told, they should have never touched those values in the first place, so swapping to your secondary would take some time. The Sparks is only 130$ despite doing 149 dmg for a reason. Duel Caldwell pax is deadly accurate when paired w the Winfield and levering
Your comment makes no sense
My bad I didn't mean to put accurate in there
honestly any weapon is viable in this game
pretty much any rifle is a 2 shot within a compound, where most fights are fought.
ive been playing solo and play mostly the cheap loadouts and am having a ton of success. having just today killed both bosses and iirc 7 players with just the crossbow and that shorty remeo shotgun with quartermaster and the quick bandage trait
Dusters for immolaters. Or a pistol with integrated dusters. I just like dusters because of its small stamina drain per swing.
The scope sway is soo tough for me to get used to. Maybe I’m spending too much time zoomed?
Not using a knuckle knife, especially with those double mediums, is absolute heresy
I would have loved a loadout with the hand crossbow...it makes travelling silently much easier for newer players that arent that experienced with the ai and is criminally underrated in pvp..
I'd put it in the same category as the medium slot shotguns or dual pistols, It's a great close combat weapon, but trades ease of use for utility in that you can use it like a tool as well.
nagant precision + hand crossbow is fun
For the lads-
One shot rifles are what they are- one shot
ALWAYS BRING A PISTOL OR SHORTENED WINNY.
I just got this game today, I know this guide is like 4 months old I think so it might be dated but idk. But I use a winfield (suppressed) and a hand crossbow idk if that is good but that is the guns I use but I got a 8 kill game with it
Im a new player but I'm loving the hatchet romero and a sniper like gun
Is the short windfarm eld with the scope better than the long windfield with the scope?
@@armoredscout3773 that’s honestly something I got into quick with my medkit, knife (if I have one since I like running bayonets), dusters, and vitality shots
The bombs can be wherever, but those four will always be in the same spot
*Me who's been playing since the alpha* mhmm yes this information will greatly help me *looks at my pile of avtomats and dolches*. (Really though I'm sending this to my friends who I convinced to buy the game because of the sale).
Thanks for the video! But I doubt it will help me since I'm a complete trash at this game and I'm unable to kill even stationary targets
Btw I love Vetterli and Nagant Officer
Is the big crossbow any good?
Simple sweaty load out we're I killed mostly buy is the vetterli and an officer I hate the way they look but sweet Jesus mid range your a beast just a very sweaty set up as everyone is running this
A poison cross sounds like it should be good why'd they do it dirty with its stats
Im Rank 100 and i have about 27k hunt dollars. I'm so bored and can't wait to prestige for the first time but I want to get the achievment for getting 5 hunters to level 50. I've nearly got my second hunter to level 50.
I want to hear some of the coms of these clips
On a quartermasterless hunter, Romero hatchet might be more worthy of its slot, than the Romero handcannon.
As long as your partner distacts them
good job man.
85 FOV is so cool
I'm a new player and bought the deluxe edition, do the characters you get from the deluxe edition stay with you forever or do they get lost as soon as you die with them ?
After you exit trainee mode when a hunter dies, they stay dead. The fact that the deluxe edition comes with DLC content means you have additional legendary hunters unlocked, and can continue to re-hire them for 333 hunt dollars.
@@4FSGaming thanks :)
hi new player to this game looks fun and i know ive alot to learn, just wonderd the store weapons etc, is this a pay to win. like if i buy better gear does that help ? also can i lose it forever ??? thanks
If you buy a legendary you will not lose the skin you will lose the gun you bring a d be able to purchase the gun again
This game is not pay to win. You can still kill a hunter with the best gear in the game in 1 shot or 2 shot with the shitties gear in the game
Do you play in Oceania or another server?
I can't find lobbies in Oceania console unfortunately
I can't speak for console, but I almost exclusively play on OCE. If I play in the evenings/late afternoons there are plenty of full matches, but during the day/early morning it can be a bit dead.
Hey. Whats your fov setting
Currently sitting on 100
@@4FSGaming thanks
Sparks silencer and saber for me killed 4000 does 1000 ish :)
Hey what's that music track?
playing this game on 4 core cpu is frustrating man. every time I go into action, fps seems normal like above >50 but game feels like it is running at 30fps. Mouse doesn't act right, I miss all my shots because of this and infamous micro stutters and I don't want to get 12core cpu because of this game alone...
tweak your stuff my.cpu is 11yo and run game at 70-90 fps i oced my 2500k to 4.0 with a 970 and 16g of ram 1666 ddr3
Set a frame rate cap at 30 fps, at video settings. It will be much more helpful than being uncapped around 50, because it will be stable.
DO you need a knife when your gun has one
Bayonet weapons are usually much more stamina intensive, making them inappropriate for larger groups of grunts.
@@4FSGaming thank you
What do you mean re-roll your hunters?
Click the button that refreshes your recruit choices.
was the comment about the crossbow a joke? its a great utility weapon.
The comment was about the poison crossbow. The normal hand crossbow is great, but the poison one is by far the worst weapon in the game.
@@4FSGaming I understand which crossbow you can silently kill crows, dogs, and chickens. 1 shots armored targets and is great to keep new people form healing in trios. Thanks for the reply!
Melee = MayLay
So I'm new to the channel and have a question. What does 4FS stand for? Is it 'for fuck's sake'? :D
I like the handbow with one set of normal darts and one set of poison darts for area denial.
Im just really nto sure what to pair it with?
POISON TIPPED THROWING KNIVES
What's the gun at 50 seconds?
The glorious mosin avtomat!
Nice
I’ve never heard anyone say melee like you 😬
Please send to all my teammates in randoms
Yo... Patch 1.7... I cannot equip anything to loadouts... It just eqips it to the hunter, therefore the loadout has nothing in it...
Help... Fucking unintuitive UI...
The word loadout has really destroyed any hope of a search engine finding my problem...
It's not just me... Now, 3 people, everyone I know who plays cannot equip loadouts...
Bullshit problems...
bruh couldnt figure you what you were saying for a solid 3 minutes. mahLay weapon. good video
>not talking about taking fanning and two revolvers or levering + quarter master and two winfields
@@demjan96 ok
Uppercut>Pax
Ya but its expensive
As i reached level 100 for some weeks i was say to not go prestig i play that game almost every weekend with a group 1 to 2 roundes i am not good in the game but i have my fun with it and i must really say that i am liking the Springfield sinc the day it came out. Its ceep evectiv and easy to play with on the other hand i hate the sparks i have more than 450 h in the game and never got a kill with it ^^. So i would say my loutout is not the best but try that out
Springfield with Dolch
Or
Springfield short eagle eye
With Nagant Officer its pretty cheap and if you what to have only single shoot i sometimes take
Springfield short eagle eye and Springfield normal short that mean that some enamyes think that i am out of ammo but i am not because i just use 2 time almost the same weapon.
I see i was writeing a lot so i stop that here if somebody is ask wtf 450 and only level 100 like i said i play only 1 match in a week and i am not THAT great at pvp shooter games but i like the game idear a lot.
Note to new players:
just spam with dual-wielding because that is what crytek wants you to use. They made stupid changes to the game so that every gun feels clunky and if you spam with dual-wielding at a reasonable range you will win most of the time. There is no need to aim or learn just spam
Crosbow, lance, machete , axe, 300 hours in game bulets are for weak im here for the memes :)) and hawe 70 000 huntdolars so im doing ewidently something right :)
Experienced players can absolutely dominate with all medieval loadouts, but that takes a bit of map knowledge to make work
YOU GUYS WANT TO BEST LOADOUT IN THE GAME?! be a meta slave and run LRR uppercut

Bough hunt like 3 weeks ago and that was the greastest decsion of this year so far.

We get full matches all the time as long as we play peak hours (4pm - 1am Melbourne time)
When you say melee it sounds like Malay.

I enjoy your videos but you're a bit heavy handed on the quick swap fanboying
And here I am thinking I don't do it enough! So many deaths over the last year have left me thinking "Should have pressed Q". I'm in a bad habit of taking the second shot when using mosin/lebel, it seems I can only QS properly when using single shot rifles.
Tell me more about how effective it is to spend 4 seconds reloading your sparks instead of pressing Q.
He's heavy handed on it because even post nerf it's an essential skill for all single shot weapons
Only noobs who are bad at the game and will always remain bad at the game are hostile to pressing Q.
@@JRedAoE Wait, who uses Q (keybind) for their secondary?! Should I do the same?
@@JRedAoE Meh, single-shot rifles were completely fine before Crytek botched the game's pacing with the increased swap speeds.
Truth be told, they should have never touched those values in the first place, so swapping to your secondary would take some time.
The Sparks is only 130$ despite doing 149 dmg for a reason. There's no quick follow-up shot. QS, even in its nerfed state, has muddied that drawback massively.
@@0p32 Q switches your weapon. If you are on yoru primary, it'll switch to your secondary. if you are on your secondary, it'll switch to your primary
Holy hell I thought it was just my graphics but the game just looks that bad? Damn.
