    I have 5 out in the field right now. I'm still evaluating them but thy have all been pretty solid. Mostly on pictures. I'm liking them so far. I'm slowly adding solar panels and/or external batteries. And I just need to say that I love your presentation method, "ginormous" and "larger enough" made me smile. Keep the review coming and light-hearted and fun.

    I have 4 Flex, 4 linkdark and 1 micro lte. I love the Flex no issue after two months. I get 25% signal in the red and they still send alerts/pics. I use mine for security, they don't take many pics so I can't complain about the battery issue....I also joined their club so basically all my camera plans are free as I don't expect more than 250 pics per month on any of my cameras, thats a win win for me.....And I will be getting a few more cameras to cover some more out building that I have...Thanks for the video.

    I have one in the field right now with a solar panel from Amazon. It’s working great. The solar panel has built in lithium batteries so I don’t need any batteries in the camera. I’ve ordered 2 more Flex cameras to replace the Link-Micro solar’s I’m starting to have problems with. I’m sure it’s just firmware that needs to be updated, but I’ve decided to move on from them. The Flex takes a much better pic vs the Link Micro. The Flex also does remote firmware update which is huge!

  • @jzimmerman
    @jzimmerman Год назад

    I now have 4 flex..... i bought 2 and had to warranty my dead link dark which they gave me 2 for it. As far as everything you say in your review I agree. My biggest complaint is the picture review, one each view takes 3 picture credits so you really are only getting 33 free a month. The second is I have my cameras in a very tall grassy area and I get a ton of pictures of movement from the grass. This is a problem because with the new animated gif that is sent you can not zoom in on the picture and it constantly goes to the option to review again or purchase the hd video. As you said a normal picture would be much better. Because of the multiple pictures that are being sent I had to set my delay to in one case 30 minutes, it was just two annoying to have my phone blow up every 2 hours for 10 minutes for pictures of the wind blowing. This delay makes it so I am very likely missing the pictures that I want most of the time because if the wind blew in the last 30 minutes and triggered movement then that target buck just got away without a picture or video being taken. I have on numerous times offered to be on the R&D team but they simply never reach out. In my opinion the Link Dark is much superior camera, if they just added an option to send the video from that camera they would have a home run. Also I have noticed night pictures you can see the blinking green light in the video.

    • @ReviewThisThing

    • @ReviewThisThing
      @ReviewThisThing  Год назад +1

      So we’re still working on that. We’ve been told by Spypoint to have pics sent 12x/day. If it’s super busy, you may want to make the rest time between pictures longer. Play with it and see what you think. Okay. If it is set to take videos, you’ll see a gif type pic that is transmitted. If you want the full video, you have to request it.

    The battery life on them is not that good but is easily mitigated. I now run external batteries on all of my cameras. Herd 360 makes a panel that works on all cameras (6v or 12v) and has all of the various plugs you could need for the different cameras. The ones I don't have solar panels I run 9ah power sonics (rechargeable). All you have to do is buy a power sonic ($25) a cord (depending on your camera model) and a waterproof box. I simply drill a hole in the bottom run the cable and seal it with silicone. For $50 I have cameras running on 108 Wh of power and is easily still double that of lithium. I hang the boxes in the tree on a screw in step so its off the ground.

      It has a couple of meanings. First is a reference to hunting, of course. Second reference is 1 Peter 2:24 - “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”” Meaning, the “something” that had to die was Jesus Christ that we might be able to die to our sins and live for God. Thank you for watching!

      @Review This Thing it had more pics left both times. I changed batteries after it happened the first time and it worked great. I have a couple link micro and have had no problems with it. Have 2 cell link and one worked fine for awhile and the other never worked. I will call them. I like the 100 pics free with spypoint. If other companies had it , I would probably go with them. I usually get unlimited during hunting season anyway so I'll decide. I wanted to go all cell cameras and that's why I was buying some of the flex hoping they would work. If I have to change batteries every month it kind of defeats the purpose. Not completely , but alot of it. Thanks for the response and trying to help. First Flex went through 8 new Lithium batteries in 10 days. Got it out of the field and put 8 new alkaline batteries in. They lasted 4 days. Called customer support and they sent me a new one. This one seemed to work initially but when I tried to do the firmware update, the status light turned blue and stayed that way all day. Batteries in this one didn't last a day. Firmware never did update. I love their Cell links which is why I purchased the Flex to begin with but it has been nothing but disappointment.
