I have had 5 of these cameras for over 5 months out on my property by the forest. I have had zero issues with any. Ordered another and the cell link (cell link is a device made by spypoint that makes most trail cams into cellular cams) . I set them up up a two weeks ago and those two are doing fine. The battery issue has to do with the quality of photo the better the quality the larger the file and longer transmision, delay the more photo the more battery drain. I setup my delay to 5 min because I don't need many photos and to keep my fitness watch from blowing up with notifications. It's a very good trail cam. Thanks for the review.
Thank you, Juan, for sharing with us. I love hearing everyone’s different experiences. It’s good for viewers to hear multiple perspectives! I’m glad yours are also working well
How hard is it to set up the sd card in your laptop B4 you put it in the camera?? I have a regular trail camera and when I set up the date & time never work. It does set up the # of pictures and length of video correctly
Bought this camera last year. Customer service I would rate as -1. Had to update the firmware 3 times and 1 factory reset. Currently the camera is inoperable. Will not run off of 12V external battery. Cell signal is not very good. Have a tactacam and spypoint. Tactcam gets full bars 4G lTE strength. are location for spypoint 2bars. buyers beware and run.
Thank you, Jefe, for your input. Thankfully, we’ve still been having pretty good luck with them, but it’s important for everyone to hear different experiences! Thank you again.
Thank you for letting us know your experience, Charles. Ours is still going strong right now, and hopefully that continues. If not, we’ll definitely post an update!
Are you using lithium batteries in this camera? How often are you getting notifications? The more often you communicate with the cell towers then the faster the batteries will drain. I am using lithiums and transfer pictures only every 12 hours and I have more than 1500 pictures in my batteries and its still over 80%. Just my $0.02
Ahhh. That’s super smart. I’ve been using regular batteries and get notifications for every picture it takes. I’ll definitely change the settings to update less frequently. Thank you for the tip!
There's a large difference between batteries so maybe it was the battery you used what battery did you use so we I've seen test where Energizer Max is the way to go and if you really really need it the last a long time the Energizer lithium project farm is tested all the batteries there's cheaper options but they require being changed out more often.
Do yourself a favor and hook up a 12 volt battery with a solar charger and you won't have to worry about batteries again. Most people who have trouble with this camera haven't followed the instructions to a "T". Customer service is an issue. They're impossible to get hold of, and they are poorly trained in resolving issues. You need to get hold of a tier 2 tech to get a good answer
I use a 12volt 7ah battery that fits in a ammo box, works great last all season. you can pick them up off of Amazon almost cheaper than lithium AA batterys and you can use a trickle charger to charge the 12 volt ones.
Fit does not deserve 5 out of 5...strap needs to be camo as it sticks out like a sore thumb. Have three of these...two are ready for the trash can with less than two years use. Junk IMHO
I have a few of the spy point cell links that they have came out with. Worked good for about 3 months, then just stopped sending pics. Now the cameras they were on no longer work at all. Won’t even work with regular SD cards. I was given a link micro lte just like the one you have reviewed in this video for a gift. Set up went fine, worked good before I took it to the woods. Put it in the woods with 50% or more cell signal. It drained the batteries in 24 hours. Went to 0% battery in 24 with brand new lithium batteries. Contacted spy point and their suggestion was to reformat the SD card. Did that and still hasn’t sent a single pic from the camera. It is over a corn pile that I get 200 pics a day from a regular trail cam. Thumbs down from me👎🏻!!
Thank you, Roy. I definitely hate hearing that so many people have had problems. Again, thankfully ours are still doing well. We’ll probably do an update after we’ve had them a year and see how things are going. Thanks again for watching and commenting! Subscribe while you’re here if you haven’t.
Several people comment and say that, but we’re still very happy. And I’m not just saying that - we don’t get paid to say that 😊 I’m sorry that was your experience!
This camera is not worth your time or money. I’ve posted a few comments on some other videos trying to save people from frustration. These cameras require so much upkeep and maintenance it’s almost laughable. For a product that supposed to help you in the field it will spend more time in your home or truck with being updated, changing batteries or helped with customer support if they actually communicate with you.
Camera kinda sucks... wouldn't send pictures so called support and was on the phone with a fella that wasn't in the country for 2hrs not a big issue just had some language barrier and finally got it to send me a pic. Put it out in the woods and haven't seen a thing and my Moultrie is next to it to see if anything actually passes and sure enough have bear on the Moultrie...
The only thing I would know to check is if you have good cell service with the wireless company connected with that camera in that area. We had a Verizon one of these in one spot that didn’t do great but moved it to another spot and it did just fine. Then we put an AT&T version of another camera in spot 1, and it worked fine there. We figured the Verizon service in that area was the problem. You may have already tried that, but hopefully you can get it working.
@@ReviewThisThing I have service out there i just dont understand why it would send photos the nice before and now nothing.. I'm goin to give it a week and if I don't receive anything it's goin back.
@@Dirtymaxxx88 don’t blame you for that. Check out our Tactacam Reveal review as well. Maybe that’s a better option for you? Let me know how it works out.
"Construction and durability", should go to its build quality and that should be tested via extreme weather and drop survival rate, not if the strap works and even that you proffer a conditional that you've, " ...only had it a week....". In that case the entire review was/is premature and quite meaningless. I've heard it's in a word, junk.
We’ve had it over a year now. There’s an updated video (ruclips.net/video/g-hp7OYU9Jk/видео.html). We’ve still had great luck with ours. I know people have had issues for sure, but we’ve been fortunate, I guess. Thanks for watching.
Also what is the point of having a “cellular” camera when it sends crap pics?? This is an inferior product. Moultrie cameras blow these out the water at the same price.
Thanks for watching, Don, and for commenting. I hate you’ve had a bad experience. We’ve been fortunate that ours are still doing well. We don’t work for, get paid by, or get free stuff from Spypoint, so this is our 100% honest review. Thanks again for watching.
No I haven't had a bad experience with these at all I was just looking for information and you guys seemed to give it a bad review out of a five-star you guys want to give it like a 3 that's not good
@@donwilson350 my misunderstanding. We’re just trying to give you the information as we believe it to be true. We really do still like our camera. It’s working great. I hope you find the one you’re looking for! Maybe it’s one of these.
Idk when trail cameras first came out, but it seems like any invention like tvs, radios, vcrs, blue ray players, even cell phones.....they need alot of years working out the bugs. Or maybe the less you pay for a product the more problems you'll have. But I bet even the $300 cameras have problems, but I'll never know because I'll never buy 1. I just hope the 2 I just purchased will work fine.
SPYPOINT customer service is very bad I received 2 as gifts brand new one activated ok and one won’t activate. The customer service is so bad two days every time I finally get someone on phone or on chat I loose connection with them. I would never buy anything from them.
Damn not only are the reviews bad online they are bad on RUclips. Such a shame cause I just bought on at $150 with a solar panel. For that price I’m returning it.

Just purchased one to try to catch trespassers. Thanks for the review picked mine up on sale for $99.
Great! I hope everything works out great for you and you catch him. Let us know how it goes.
I purchased 2 for the same reason. How hard is it to do the initial set up with the sd cards and computer.
Well done. Great review. Great information.
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
Does it exist any trail cam with rechargeable solar batteries?
thanks
Most of these have a port to accept a solar charger. We haven’t used one with them, so I don’t know just how well they work, but they should work.
How's the battery life with this camera?
As long as we kept it on the settings we talked about, the batteries would last several months.

Run is right mine worked for 3 days both times and customer service is a joke they won’t even update the firmware. Battery life sucks too.

You have to have cell signal in the area where your cam is located

I think we started with regular Energizers but switched to Lithiums.
