Watch part 2 here ruclips.net/video/db1pptBAOuc/видео.html hey everyone, this video is 4 years old about to be 5 years old in about 4 months. i have received lots of criteria, that either good and bad i have got to enjoy. this video has exploded being the most viewed video in this channel, and i never expected that. everyone has their one saying of how i battled the bosses, or that they arent even bosses, they are mini bosses. here is the deal with this video. I made this video as a "movie" type video, to make the battles seem interesting and refreshing as all bosses were handled uniquely. little do i care about views, or about the comments telling me how to handle this bosses. at the end of the day i remember i had the time of my life making this. ( by the way, i have beaten this game enough times to decide to fight the bosses how i want to :) in the end, this video is a badass video, who gives a fuck about anything else
tecchnically olmec and yama are the only bosses, cause they have the most health, a cutscene and are the big parts of the game, but this videos still cool
it would have been nice if after each boss/miniboss he killed (using whatever way he wanted) he showed exactly how many bombs,whips , shotgun shots, etc... it would take to kill the boss. Just as a neat number and reference for those who would need/want to kill it but might not be in the same situation he was (such as having a convenient altar to sacrifice the black knight at).
New Olmec is garbage. All you have to do is lure him off the screen and then he just waits patiently for you to dig a hole. The original Olmec was always moving, making his fight actually difficult.
I like how you took the time to make sure that the battles were interesting and cool to watch, rather than just throwing massive numbers of bombs everywhere. I also feel like you should have included some black market action, because I feel that the shopkeepers should be considered bosses when in large numbers, and that that would show off spelunky combat very well. Also, great job with the hell run, and old bitey, the black knight sacrifice was a nice touch as well
For anybody that doesn’t know, bosses, according to this video, are enemies that are extremely strong and might now require 3 or 4 hits to kill. Like Anubis. Dude has that scepter, which can deal about 10 hearts. So you have to strategize.

I can’t count how many times I have been at one hp from doing something stupid, and then a bat just going into that one little corner that my whip can’t reach
Two stories: one, I needed to kill Old Bitey in order to get the deathmatch arena, so I kept resetting at the jungle shortcut until I got the correct level feeling, and like the first time I got it, I found a teleporter and spammed it in the lake until I finally telefragged him. Two: I had 2 health, a shotgun, 60 bombs, and a pounding heart as I hung from a rope with a straight shot at Yama, whom I had never killed before. However, I put my shotgun down and put away my bombs, and I unsheathed my chrysknife. I waited, and right after he sent a wave of skeletons above my head, I leapt over to his face and ended him with a swift swipe of the chrysknife. However, something sent me back down to the bottom, and me, now with one health, set my mark for the exit. Then a vampire landed on my head and I died.
Awesome to see these done without super quick strats or a bazillion items. Useful for players that dont like to anger shopkeepers since they will tend not to have as many items, or for times when the RNG is just being a real turdball about it, or both at once. The Old Bitey kill was particularly impressive. I have enough trouble just dealing with the freaking mummies.
That Omlec fight looks way more challenging and fun rather then kiting him to one side of the map, then make a shaft using 6 bombs, then make him fall down the pit.
It takes me forever to get to him, about every 50 runs or so I manage to reach Olmec, I don't want to waste that one run on dying to Olmec! Maybe when I get better...
I used to be horrible Them i use to be amazing and started speedrunning because It kinda bored me Now I kinda have my skills but still wanna explore the game, and takes me around 50 runs(couldve taken me like 7-10) to reach olmec and I usually choke. Thats why I love spelunky.
I really like how this is released so long after the game is out, yet its still really interesting. Ive killed every one of them a lot of times but usually I dont challenge myself the way u did, for example- I have never actually climbed vlad`s tower, always entered from above, took the amulet and spammed vlad with bombs/shotgun shells and went away to do the same with yama. Was thinking at the begging you`d only kill olmec and yama, but I understand the reference to bosses, which ive never even put to my mind. Subscribed! (Sorry for bad English btw, im still trying to improve it :P)

Usually, I'd take down the Giant Spider by tossing a bomb into the webs above. Since they're right below the spider, the bombs are in just the right spot to one shot it, and get the paste.

Giant spider isn’t a boss and u should’ve just thrown a bomb at it and same thing for frog. Queen bee isn’t either and dark knight is just castle. Old bitey is tho king yeti isn’t either he just a special thing alien superior isn’t it’s also a special thing that happen alien mother is tho mummy isn’t Anubis isn’t Anubis 2 isn’t OLMEC is vlad isn’t Yama is. I agree, The Mummy, you can just easily kill it with the camera. The giant spider, just as good as a normal spider, but does double damage and has more hit points.

The only REAL bosses/minibosses are Old Bitey, Anubis, Olmec, and King Yama. The black knight could be considered a boss, because it has its own level, as well as anubis, olmec, old bitey and the like.

iqbal cool the piranha spawns at the jungle level where it says "i hear rushing water" you could restart on the jungle till you find that level, the when you do, just go to the bottom and you will find Old Bitey

I’ve been playing spelunky for 8 years and I just beat the game yesterday but it left me on a black loading screen and I didn’t get the character, btw it was a hell run

Old Bitey is easy in a way once you defeat all the Piranhas
Then all you have to worry about is not taking damage and killing him.

If you plan on killing the big fish, use sticky bombs. It is much easier than shotgun or boomerang

Some of those are just big enemies. Spiders, mummies and big frogs aren't bosses. If you can have more than one in a level, it's not a boss.

iqbal cool the piranha spawns at the jungle level where it says "i hear rushing water" you could restart on the jungle till you find that level, the when you do, just go to the bottom and you will find Old Bitey
Trivia: just like the Wizard of Yendor in Nethack, Anubis II follows you out of the Golden City until you kill him. Unlike Rodney, though, he doesn't respawn.

The "heat on the back of his head" is the bomb fuse in the back of his head

Only 2 bosses, Olmec and Yama (and Anubis 2 maybe). Others are minibosses. Except if you count Olmec and Yama as final bosses and others as bosses.
If you don't feel like fighting the giant spider, just throw a bomb into the webs that always spawn under them.
