You are the same as me in that you use music as a personal expression of your creativity and not as a way to recreate existing music like so many others on RUclips. That is what brings people back to your channel, you are giving people a glimpse into your life in a truly honest fashion and aren't just showing how fast you can play something by Eddie Van Halen like so many others. Robert, any chance that you might do a short video on how you use Reaper and Valhalla? Reaper seems pretty intimidating. Maybe you could help a lot of your viewers, if there is a fairly easy way that you use this comprehensive software? Thanks for all you do and considering this video request!

    • @robertclarkguitar
      @robertclarkguitar  2 года назад +1

      I have made a short one before ...I think I'll have to check. I am surely very very new myself to the Daw. My son is supposed to visit soon and help me out. Reaper has a guy that does fantastic tutorial on RUclips. But I still want to try to at least see if I can get you to where I am. I use reaper in it's very begining state. There is so much to do but that confused me so I have been using it to a bare minimum more like a Sequencer. Hahahaha. I hit record and play and stop. Then save. Or delete and do over. Most do a punch in. I haven't tried that.
      1. Once you have reaper set up. Which I highly advice watching a better channel to learn that!! Haah you can try..
      2 . Open the program and double left click on the left side where tracks will run it will auto set up a track. To arm it press the red circle. Then adjust volumes. Install valhalla like any other VSt. You'll unzip it and put the 2 files in a folder called VST. You'll then hit the fx button on your reaper control you double clicked on. You'll see it on bottom of that same little top left track control. It will bring up a window to select a VSt and search for valhalla. It should bring it up and click to open. You'll then see all the settings for what sound you want. I will make a video as soon as I get a chance. I hope this helps as bit. I truly appreciate your support and for trusting me to help. I do wish I was more qualified to help hahahah. Meanwhile until I get one up. I'll search to see if I made anything close to what you are asking and link it here.

    Great video...!
    Only that... I think it's a real shame that the GT-1 don't have any drums machine or drum patterns at all...
    Otherwise, the Looper would be a real rhythm-riff extraordinary tool for playing live alone or, with no band...
    That's really a shame 'cos the ZOOM G1X Four do have the looper and the drum patterns only that... The quality sounds or presets are a little bit poor in this Zoom...
    You can't always have the best of two worlds in just one...
    That's a shame...

    • @robertclarkguitar
      @robertclarkguitar  8 месяцев назад

      I totally agree. I recently got a P2 prime and a little hornet practice amp that both have auto sync drum machine to looper function via app. The sounds are quite tweakable and the prime is slightly better but the hornet is a little amp itself. The technology is coming slowly but surely. I do wish I still had the Gt1. I have me80 now which is easier to control but honestly the preamps are not quite as good to me as the gt1. I will try to find another one as I absolutely loved that unit. 🥂

      @@robertclarkguitar well, we have to wait for technology or make some mixing of different pedals trying to get what we want but in the meantime, let me thank you for your video, it really gave me some ideas... (As you can overdub several times, maybe you can record some fast and short guitar hits in different parts of the measure resembling a drum pattern and bass lines apart from the accompanying guitar parts...)...
      So... Thanks again Robert......!

    Hi Rob, Great video! I just picked up a GT1 and am really enjoying it. One question, is there a way to remove a dub once you record it? I have just been practicing some solos and thought that would be a cool feature. Maybe this is where recording software comes in ;-) Thanks & Take Care ;-)

    • @robertclarkguitar
      @robertclarkguitar  4 года назад +1

      If I double click after a loop it will stop the loop ...if I single click it will arm or add layer. If i double and hold it will delete. If I am right I believe it is 30 second looper ...

    • @robertclarkguitar
      @robertclarkguitar  4 года назад

      You should have 30 seconds to play. Check the online manual pdf to be sure. I hope that helps. I love the pedal. Perhaps you are able to adjust the loop time but I'm not sure about that. Or not sure why yours is stuck at 2 seconds.

    Robert is it possible to layer more than 1 loop on the GT-1? For example, if you wanted to do 3 guitar parts, could you loop the first 2 and then play a solo over that for all 3 parts, or can you just make 1 loop at a time? I appreciate your expertise! Here is an example of what I would like to achieve for practice. ruclips.net/video/YtZ5Op0MN14/видео.html

    • @robertclarkguitar
      @robertclarkguitar  2 года назад +1

      Wow that's cool video. And yes you can but with up to 32 seconds. So you have that long to make original and layer over it all you want but each layer must be only 32 seconds. The best way I use this is make a loop. Layer it and let it record to Reaper. Then solo over it all I want. Adding layers on each track on reaper. I hope this helps. You will not be able to actually play this entire part where he has the second or 3rd part which seems to change too far out. Sadly.

      @PetePuma25 2 года назад

      @@robertclarkguitar Thanks Robert! That is exactly what I needed to know. I just wanted to make sure that if I bought a GT-1, I could loop more than "track" (for lack of a better word) on top of each other, just to get a close approximation and only for practice.
