IM SCREAMING Have been and forever will be a massive sublime fan, honestly so much of my own lore is Sublime related. I found your channel like three days ago, and EVERY SINGLE one HITS
Oof, I don't talk about that but it's a good thing to keep in mind. I haven't researched or dissected the lyrics of those songs but it does feel important. @@therockbottom5256
Grew up on classic rock bc of my parents. I rebelled from my parents by listening to rap and this is back in 92-93. A friend played sublime for me. I loved everything they released, particularly that acoustic album. But that opened me up to punk, ska and changed my life. I loved the stand by your van live album. Robbin the hood. Bradley had the most amazing voice
i’m a transgender man and one of the names i go by is Bradley and i chose it because of how much this man means to me . sublime is one of my favorite bands , and one of my moms favorites since before i was even born , such an incredible band
absolutely beautiful video. rest in peace bradley and lou dog :( my condolences to you as well. im sure brad was a beautiful soul and im glad he was cherished
Lou Dog story got me crying! Back in the day a couple of years after Bradley passed I wentvand saw the band in San Jose and got to hang with Bud, Eric and Opie literally getting to share a 40 with them and got to pet Lou Dog. Coolest experience ever having heardcall about him through the lyrics. Also before the show Eric rescued me from an annoying bouncer (I think my license was about to expire) and he picked me up, threw me over his shoulder and brought me in to the show. I really wish i would have been able to meet Brad 😢
My friends and I used to monologue the Raleigh Soliloquies back and forth to each other word for word. RUclipsr C.W. Schultz has a video where he finally discovers who Rollie (his actual name) was and settles 30 years of myths and urban legends.
I just found your channel, and i like what I've seen. As a person in recovery myself, i have struggled to come up with an answer as to what the opposite of addiction is. I have decided that (at least for me), the opposite is choice, though i do like the idea that it could be community. Just an FYI (i don't fault you, you weren't even alive yet), Rodney King wasn't killed by the police. He was beaten mercilessly and it was secretly recorded, but he did survive that assault. Again, well done on the videos!
god this is so delicious! your energy is excellent and ur research is great. a bit of info, “Hope” is actually a cover of a song from the band descendents and they’re great and also from california?
Great vid. You missed the 2nd Hand Smoke album which came out last and has many gems on it. There are also lots of other great officially unreleased songs, some of which were eventually released on the Box Set. And Rodney King did not die in his police beating. Really cool vid though. This band was just epic.
Anybody who digs on The Front Bottoms AND Sublime GOTTA be ok...... and if Operation Ivy gets added to that list, it just might be enough to get you into the "Cool Kids" club!! Easily my favorite 3 bands
I’ve always felt like Sublime were underrated. They weren’t the greatest musicians (well actually brad wasn’t lol guitar wise) weren’t the greatest dudes or dog owners lmao but theyre super real. Like they were just so cal punk white dudes who liked to surf and jump into the sketchy parts of society. Didn’t have any shame or preconceived notions about genres and just meshed all the shit from Punk, Reggae hip hop and made songs that literally multiple generations of teenagers smoke weed for the first time to. Along w how much they represented where they’re from w references to punk bands, surf/skate culture, Cali gang culture, dope fiend culture everything man. Yeah they’re a douchey stoner band who’s overplayed now but the connection this band has w the youth is insane and being a sublime hater is just for elitist nerds.
@@BrainBurg-bq2si it's a cover of camper van beethoven- in his usual fashion brad changed a lot about it. another song like that is johnny butt, i only just learned it was a cover!

Arf! Arf! He was the best good boy.. Sublime was everything. They never really had a genre. They were here and gone in a flash. Sadly.
