Ambrosia, like Toto, is a PROG ROCK band with an R&B side...check out their 1982 album "Road Island" for proof...it's got a cover like The Wall by Pink Floyd & has a hard edged prog sound & songs not unlike the knotty proggy side of Rush or Dream Theatre...

Ambrosia, Poco, Firefall, Exile, Seals& Croft, so many "Adult Contemporary" bands that blasted the charts in the 70's. Add international bands like Air Supply and Little River Band (among others) that made just perfect Soft Rock music back then, and it was just wonderful!

Having a hard time thinking of it with this classic song playing right now. This is my favorite Ambrosia song. I was in junior high when it came out. Okay. Ambrosia was so amazing back in the day. There songs were played by local bands always!
One of their hit songs called “I keep holding on to yesterday” KEPT me in a 4 year relationship even though we were stagnated, becoming more like siblings than a couple committed to a life together. We both knew it, but too familiar to part…I’d make up my mind and be determined to end it, But every time I was determined to really end it(!!), this song would pull me back. We had so many wonderful memories but you cannot move forward living in the past.
When that song finally fell off the charts, I was able to move on. Carl never did marry. He is the perpetual “uncle Carl” and a friend after all these years. Funny how music effects us.👍

David Pack's great voice and the beautiful harmonies. As others said, your next Ambrosia song when you are in that 70's mood should be "You're the Only Woman." David Pack did continue on writing songs for others too. I suggest you try the song he co-wrote with the great writer/producer Glenn Ballard (who helped write/produce Alanis Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill" album) called "All I Need" by singer/actor Jack Wagner. I was so shocked when I found out they wrote this song. It was a huuuuge smash around 1984 by the actor who played Frisco Jones on General Hospital....your mom might remember him, Amber. Huge heart throb!!!

Dont underestimate the talent of Joe Puerta, great voice and great bass player, compliments Pack beautifully. I love the ballads of Ambrosia, but if that is all you know of them, you will be blown away with the rest of their music. One of my all time favorite bands.

Along the same lines... I hope you revisit Little River Band. I think the one you did wasn't the best introduction, I suggest "Reminiscing." Also, Pablo Cruise "Love Will Find a Way," Firefall, "Just Remember I Love You," and Player, "This Time I'm In It for Love." Firefall also has a song called "Strange Way" that has a crazy flute solo near the end.

The 70's was a decade with such a variety of music. I was just a young kid then but I remember hanging with my brothers and my cousins listening to so much music and loving all the different styles. A great evolving musical decade.

I love how you tell us at the end of each video that we are always blessed. I believe that as well. That's why I call this my "God" song. I relate the lyrics to what God might say to me and what I may say to Him. Because He IS the biggest part of me, and I know that anything I ask (humbly) he will give if it's His will for me. I know He wants to let His "love reign down on me" and we CAN wash away the past and so that WE may start anew. I want His love beside me...close enough to guide me..He's the light that breathes in me...He changed my life, He made it right and I WILL be a servant to HIM for the rest of my life!!!
