@@TheAdventureTravelers I forgot to mention, we travel from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. And have also driven across Tyne 17 mile stretch from 371 east to 550 on one of the Indian roads. That of itsself was challenging in a car.
New Mexico is crazy looking…spent a ton of time there, but never visited the Badlands! Yeah, that place looks super crazy! Looks like you guys had a blast exploring all the petrified forest stuff! So much open space, you could hike for days! Really cool adventure…thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Yes, there is a LOT to see in New Mexico. We only scratched the surface. We will be back. Can't wait to upload our videos of when we sailed to the South Pacific. Now that was amazing. Thanks again. Michael & Melissa
The Adventure Travelers Looking forward to your sailing videos! Amy and I are kicking the idea of full time in a Catamaran in a few years. I used to race in college and have done some deliveries from Hawaii to San Francisco. Can’t wait!
@@TheNearAndAway We are actually going to the British Virgin Islands this month for a week of getting catered to on a beautiful catamaran. We can't wait. We'll take videos. If you do the catamaran thing, you will not be disappointed. Start downsizing now :-)
The Adventure Travelers Sounds awesome! We downsized a few years ago...now we pretty much travel full time, or visit family. Honestly can’t decide where we would want to live for anymore than a few months...but it’s fun! I’ll keep on the lookout for your next videos....we’re subbed to your channel 👍🏻
That cave is too tight and yet Michael manage to squeeze! I agree that walking to some of that part felt like it was in another planet. That is a long hike guys!
We love the tight squeeze caves. We do some really tight stuff in Anza Borrego. Lots of fun. The hiking was amazing. Something new around every corner. Thanks for watching!
I wish. I don’t think we have time this year to go back. It most likely would not be a good place to go during the summer though because it would be so hot. We like to go in October typically.
Awesome Devin! So glad you liked it. It was an incredible place. Lots to see and do, although we were only there for two days. Thanks for watching. Michael & Melissa
Kind of reminds us of Goblin Valley and the Toadstools... Pretty trippy to see it on top of the sandstone at 1:37! I've said that same thing, to those just sitting on their couches, lol...and yet I spend so much time sitting in my chair editing video 😎 That looks like a slot canyon I would totally check out! c/t
I just heard about this place and would like to check it out. Do you mind sharing which area you parked at and how far/which direction to the petrified wood?
Here is what we used for the Bisti Badlands. www.campendium.com/bisti-badlands-parking-access Parking is right at the trailhead. You can boondock there for several days, if needed. The petrified wood was about 2 or so miles down the main wash. Use this map and stay to the left to get to the petrified wood. Super cool! www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-mexico/bisti-badlands-trail
We have been to the Badlands in South Dakota but had never heard of the Badlands in New Mexico. Some similarities but some differences, starting with how dry everything was. Not sure we would have tried to go through the hole at 4:30 🙀.
You guys are funny! :-) The cave was really nothing big (no pun intended). Yes, if you can ever make it here, it is a must see. I'm sure there was even more to see than what we have shown here. Lots of amazing things. Thanks again for watching and all of your help.
The weather was actually very cool and comfortable because we went in the off season. It was super dry though, so we went through water fast. Hiking was mostly flat but long distances. Really fun place. One of our favorites.
Wow! I mean any angle you look here looks so magnificent! Some places like this, you actually need to see it to believe it. You are right it looks like Mars, how did you take that shot where you can see underwater and sky in the same frame? :) I feel I can go on exploring this place the whole day, there might be hidden fossils underneath.. hope you guys didnt get stuck in the small caves, be safe and have fun :) great channel guys, new subscriber here ;)
Rohan, thanks for subscribing! We really appreciate it. Lots of videos to come! We used the Telesin Dome for GoPro ( amzn.to/2OEo8Zk ) to take the split water shot. We were pretty happy with the results and we are taking the dome to the British Virgin Islands next and I hope to get some really good shots there. No, we didn't get stuck in any caves :-) Watch our mud cave videos though. It's gets tight in there!
It is super awesome out there. We highly recommend it if you’re in the area. There are lots of really cool hikes nearby. Definitely go in the fall, winter, or spring. It would be dreadful in the summer.
Such an incredible landscape! Those rocks are very interesting, and the petrified trees are incredible. Nice video!
We were amazed at every place we went to here. I have seen a lot in my life and yet, I still felt like a kid discovering new things.
Wow!🐸
Been to Bisti twice, we camped the 2nd time. Will go a third and fourth etc.... I found the same mud cave. Cheers!!!
Hey Scott, yes, that place is super cool. So glad you got to share it as well. It is such a unique destination. Glad you found the little cave too.

wow that long petrified tree is amazing
Yeah, as you can tell... we were trippin'. Such a fun place to hike!!
Amazing place! I think it would be cool if it had two forts on it.
It was an incredible place to discover
We hiked a short distance here a few weeks ago. I wish we would have had a map! Thank you for sharing
Glad we could show you some goodies that were there. Fun spot. :-)

What do you use to find your vehicle after hiking and photographing?
Just a good sense of direction. Also, we typically use the AllTrails app and the map shows us where we began our hike
The parks in the US are so awesome. I have the Badlands on my list! Looks incredible.
Thanks Andrea! Yes, this is a, "must-see" if you like desert things. Amazing place.

I'm sure it was in October. We typically take a month off in October to travel.
This was such a cool video!!! I'm from Memphis TN so the best thing we have is Shelby Farms lol definitely going to visit this place soon🔥🔥

RIP Bisti Arch
I missed it. What happened to the Bisti Arch?
@@TheAdventureTravelers people were walking over and/or taking pics while sitting on it and it crumbled :( it’s no longer an arch.
@@dukecitymusicfestenthusias3523 That sucks. Thanks for the follow-up. I appreciate that. That's such a bummer.
Is there dispersed camping nearby?
We actually parked our RV at the parking lot there and that was OK. That is the only dispersed camping place that I know of nearby.
It looks like it’s really hot there. Was the hiking hard
