    If you love photographing bizarre landscapes, desert hiking and boondocking off the beaten path then the Bisti Badland Wilderness in north west New Mexico is for you.
    The place is full of interesting sandstone formations and the unique terrain at times seems like a different planet.
    In this video I'll show you some highlights of our hikes in to the Bisti Badlands and a view of our free camping spot in the parking area.

    Thanks for this video. We were there in September in the heat (but it's a dry heat) and we loved it. So many strange shapes to see, wonderful. It's out of this world.

      No filter, but do try and shoot in nice light around sunset or sunrise and do a bit of post processing on the computer.

    Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing. Do y'all ever see gemstones or fossils when you're out and about? I know you can't take stuff from state or federal parks, just curious.

      Solo Roamin' Yup, see quite a few fossils, especially sea shells, seems a lot of the desert areas in the South West used to be a huge inland sea millions of years ago and not really even looking for them.

    I've been making a list of places to visit when motorcycle camping and discovered the Bisti Badlands after watching the Malice episode of Stargate Universe. It was filmed there as an alien planet landscape, and it certainly does look alien. I was interested to learn from your video that there is BLM land where dispersed camping is permitted.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 года назад

      Another cool place to camp in that area is called Angel Peak www.loveyourrv.com/camping-angel-peak-scenic-area/ Cheers, Ray

    I liked your video, but it was a little grainy as it can up on RUclips; it lost of lot of the beauty for the location. Please post more. Someday I want to be doing adventures like yours.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  9 лет назад

      John Guard thanks. I uploaded it in HD but RUclips will sometimes show a grainier version if the connection speed is not fast enough, you might check the settings for the video and look for 720P HD version.

      See the accompanying blog post I linked to in the video description, it has exact directions to the parking area www.loveyourrv.com/alien-eggs-and-hoodoos-at-the-bisti-badlands-blm/
      or type Bisti Badlands into Google maps - www.google.com/maps/search/bisti+badlands/@36.2764476,-108.2257747,13z/data=!3m1!4b1
      I wouldn't fully trust your GPS out here though, there are lots of dirt roads and many aren't great for travel. Cheers, Ray
