    I wouldn't be so afraid of MUA if the person doing it was careful and methodical, like THIS. But most videos I've seen are more along the lines of a bull-in-a-china-shop aggressive approach where the patient comes out of anesthesia in extreme pain, and maybe with a broken leg. I've busted my tail with pt but I'm 6weeks po and just got to 102°, with "help"😳. I have to be back at work on 4/17 (unless I take more time) and I meet with my team on 4/1... And, my job? I drive a forklift. At this point, I can't even climb up onto my vehicle. Prayers appreciated.

If I had it to do over I'd somehow got out that position because no mercy. It's gking almost the way up my leg to hip n I swear turned n went across my lower back. I was bad news for almost bad week n had to go to surgeon the next day after this n I gonna bend it near as good. No one will listen to me about what's going on in hip area but I think I know. I have spinal stenios n my bursas I think have just stopped long time ago. I get a steroid injection ever so often. I need help n oh I wasn't getting the therapy in my knee in hospital or rehab
      I left rehab on 8 th day n went home n do it w surgeons pt team. But that one girl is from the Amazons I think. She is not touching me again. Help

    Hi how are you? Doctor, I am a 22-year-old young man. I have trauma from a bullet impact in my leg. That caused stiffness and it seems like I have osteoarthritis. My doctor performed a quadriceplasty on me and sent me to physiotherapy and I can't regain mobility in my leg. I have limitations in extension and flexion. It is possible to recover it after two years.

    I've had accident in 2012. Femur, tibia with fibula broken. I got plates. Tibia got healed but i got infection in femur so it didn't healed no matter how many times a day i got it cleaned and get dressed. So much puss used to leak every day. Doctor decided to operate it again by shaving my femur for 6 cm and got external ilizirov fixators for my whole leg. I was with fixators for a year. After the fixators were removed i couldn't bend my knee at all. I thought it would get better after doing physiotherapy but my knee is not bending more than 30 degrees. Till last month itself I've been taking extreme physiotherapy sessions which included cpm, tens machine and extremely painful manual bending where 2 physiotherapists applied their whole body weight to bend my knee while im in prone position where it will go from 30 to 50 degrees and then back to normal. I did this for 3 months continously but i gave up because there's no change i got fed up with pain.
    I want to know if bending under anesthesia will be useful or any surgery that i can get.

    @Prateek Joshi - Hello Doc, after an accident in 2017, my left knee is left with a range of motion of around 50 degrees...have consulted Dr Chowdhary of Indian Sports injury center who had recommended physiotherapy but even after those sessions, the range of motion could not be established. As you can understand, its been more than 4 years now that the problem persists...do you think it is also because of the scar tissues that ay have got built after the injury. what do you recommend- MUA or Arthroscopy? i would be happy to consult you in Ahmedabad if that's required too!!

    Hi, it's been 6 months since I had an accident an injured my left knee,( patella, femur and hip fracture) they did THR to the hip and put plate to the femur , the two are doing great , the only problem that am remaining with is knee range of motion it's only at 60 degrees after they put a wire at kneecap NOTE they never did TKR they only put a certain wire to the knee cap,so DR.prateek what can be done here is it MUA or TKR....thank you

    • @DrPrateekJoshi
      @DrPrateekJoshi  2 года назад +3

      We usually don't do tkr for patella fracture... I believe due to multiple fractures you couldn't do knee physio properly after surgery...now there are two options if patella fracture was reduced and fixed properly, you can go ahead with mua / arthroscopic adhesiolysis...

    Hello, I another video that I watched, the doctor said that MUA should be done in 6-12 weeks and not later than that as it may increase the chances of scare tissues again.
    What would you suggest?

    • @DrPrateekJoshi

      It depends on primary surgery... If it's a fracture case and there is stiffness then we can do MUA early provided fixation is robust

    Hello i ruptured my quadricep tendon in april, didnt get an appointment for 22 days after the op, i asked for anti biotics throughout, and was told my red inflamed knee was fine, anyway turned out i had staph, so next day i was in for a debridement, 4 plaster casts later and 3 months in total since i have bent my leg, i am in a leg brace, and my knee is extremely tight above the knee cap, and i just can get more than 20 degrees range of motion, 12 weeks of it in extension, realistically am i going to need this procedure? And if so i would be concerned about the tendon re-rupturing, thanks.

    • @DrPrateekJoshi
      @DrPrateekJoshi  2 года назад

      Oh... that's very unfortunate... May be if you can get atleast 90 degrees with mua, you will feel much better... something has to be done because of you have stiff knee after surgery it defeats the purpose of the surgery... understanding the risks of re rupture ou can think about gentle mua s , may be multiple over period of time...that would be safer...

      If xray is showing good reduction than either MUA or arthroscopic+- open surgery to release adhesion is recommended...

      knee MUA works if your fractures have united in correct position... if there is problem in fixation than knee MUA might not give long lasting results, it may even harm the joint.
