- Checking out the Jaguar IS, a top tier strike jet. This plane is the reward from the Sword of Justice event in Spring of 2024 and is broadly similar to other versions of the Jaguar, but does have some unique quirks.

I grabbed the Sea Harrier to speed my way to the Harrier Gr.7. The Jaguar IS means I don’t have to pick up either Phantom to start researching the Harrier.
Where my local RAF base is, they have the Jaguars used in RAF Service. They have been retired from front line duties & were flown from RAF Coltishall to their current home. They are now being used to train the next batch of engineers & also they used to be able to taxi around the airfield. They aren't taxiable now due to the expense of fuel etc. But they are electronically live. Some of the Jaguars have now moved on from my local airbase to museums in the UK

You forgot to mention that while the Magic 2 is a reasonably capable all-aspect missile right now, it's getting a strong buff in the next patch, which will bring it a fair bit back to its original absurd lethality.

Really informative and helpful, got really frustrated at another content creators review where he didn’t know a single thing about what he was doing or how to use a jaguar.
(Also, you should probably mention somewhere that the Magic-2 is getting buffed soon, it’s going to be able to pull extremely tight turns right off the rails according to the Dev server changes)

The 10.3 Jaguar is pretty bad. At 11.0 I expect this thing to be painful. I intend to attack the bases nobody wants and die on the way 30% of the time.

I know the Jaguar is old in game, but I feel they should at least update the afterburner for it since it is a new event vehicle after all.

I'll always believe in Magics, especially after the buff they're getting next patch...
I flew some battles with the French Jag during this event, and I feel like slower CAS planes that aren't the Rook or Warthog in ARB are have a worse time of it what with more all-aspect slingers being around now. I pursued the Jag IS because Magic 2s are a great experience, I enjoy the Jag platform, and I do want to pursue the British air tree more, but I'm weary about how it will perform at present.
Edit: I also notice that the IS has less than a quarter of the countermeasures of its French couterpart, which combined with lower ammo count is going to make it even tougher at .7br higher.
btw you only need 5 1000lb bombs for a base, I recommend 4 bombs + 2 rockets if your OCD like me
This is basically a thermals, missile, and the ability to carry one extra guided bomb upgrade. That is in exchange for going to 11.0 at sub-sonic and most likely facing the Pantsir.

The issue is that there are no MBTs at its BR, and for top mixed battles the Harrier GR.7 probably a better pick (I don't have British tanks above rank 7 so I can't tell), or just buy the Rooivalk. Its biggest competition should be the Tornado in air RB (I rarely see the British F-4s specially with bombs).

This jaguar came when I needed it, despite the event being a bit boring, the reward was worth it.

The sub count seems to be snowballing over the last couple of months, but the views aren't going up at the same rate. **shrugs**

@@Sebmundo From my understanding of youtube's internal algorithms and such, its more of an issue where the majority of my subscribers are not regularly watching my vids within the first 24 hours, making YT think its not appealing, and suggesting it to a wider audience less often. This is how smaller channels with like 8k subs can routinely put out vids with much larger viewer numbers - more of their subscribers, as a percentage, are watching their new videos faster, so YT assumes its a banger. My channel is in a bit of a rough spot right now where I have the sub count for casual passers-by to assume my vids are probably credible, but not enough repeat viewers to get individual videos suggested to a more broad audience.

I really hope they don't turn India into a British sub tree or relegate them entirely to event stuff and premiums, but that kinda seems to be the direction this is going in. Love the jags though. Got the GR1A back when that was top of the brit strike jet line.
I've left more than a few comments to the snail that India really deserves to be the next "major nation" , and that folks in India might find it pretty offensive if they get lumped into the British line as a full sub-tree ..... there's a bit of history there .....

I half spaded it in sim mode to lantirn and gbu bombs. I liked it. In RB its weak/okey-ish. I get one kill at least each match. But in sim mode is where it shines imho.
Wait? There's Wheather Changing in War Thunder? Every match I've get in is always sunny with clouds, at Sunset but no rain
I've shown some of it in a few recent vids, including this one - the segment where I had a jousting match against that SPAA and traded kills was in total-fog-cover, with zero surface visibility above 1000 meters or so.
Not sure why but the plane has different cockpit when the lighting pod is equipped… not sure why it doesn’t have the later cockpit from the start and where is the RWR receiver in the cockpit?
7:58 Hard doubt on the sim point. No radar means no iff which means you need to get in close to be sure the aircraft you’re looking at is hostile, especially since F-4s and F-5s can be on either team in most matches. The French event jaguar is 9.7 with magic 1s and frankly it’s not competitive there.
This could be better than that one at bombing bases since it has ccrp so you can overfly the base at treetop level but it’s just so slow compared to something like an F-111 or even a phantom with a fraction of the bomb load
I like the jag. But why the fuck did one with Magic 2s end up in the British tree before France got any of their jags with magic 2s?

With the bombs, given the 500lbs bombs almost destroyed the base, would there be some room for a custom load out to minimise the drag but still be able to destroy a base?
You could take a loadout of four 1000, and two 540, but the difference vs six 1000 would be pretty trivial.
Would certainly look at it more if I didn't have the T2 to fill that aesthetic itch
The event for this jet, made me uninstall WT after a decade.
Never have I seen so many T7 premium jets, that are better than the F-4E and F-5E, that I was using to grind.

If you mean how the AB looks like crap, just WT being WT, but I also have a few bits in my video settings turned down a little for performance.

I just watched your video on the F3H-2 and frankly it terrified me as I already am hating the BR setup for the Panthers the same way I did for the F2H-2 before it was dropped down in BR, I'm curious if you too feel the early US naval jets have a systemic issue of being overtiered?@@TimsVariety
lets be honest, noone reasonably expected this thing to be good, you are paying a 0.7 br increase for an air to air weapon on a CAS plane. thats not really reasonable
Alright now i see that you did put "in-game" in front of every timestamp names. Will there be an experiment with putting those "in game [...]" timestamps titles while still putting history first? It does kinda feel like a slap in the face to have directly the armement without the history intro. Oh well i mean the content is still excellent anyway.

A lot of people don’t like Gaijin adding planes that are very similar to the ones we already have. Personally I like getting just more versions of planes, like the F-100F two-seater. But what do you think personally, and from a content creator perspective?
I'm kindof neutral on the question.
There are .. a LOT .. of prominent aircraft we still don't have in the game, and I'd really prefer to see those get added ... but I also don't mind that we're probably going to get at least 3 or 4 versions of the F-15 as its an amazing plane and the different versions have different capabilities etc etc.
@@TimsVariety Yeah, but if they are going to add more and more different versions of planes, it only increases the need for much greater BR decompression, which for gaijin reasons still is not quite within the horizon. But other than that I fully agree
Gotta love that the French jet in a different nation's tech tree gets the all-aspect version of the French missile, while the French Jaguar doesn't

I’m not very good at war thunder top tier, when I play top tier f4-s it sometimes doesn’t show me the missile icon, making Phoenix missiles unstoppable, this kills me all the time any ideas or tips. *edited grammar.
To get past the phoenix, you need to get in the habit of zig-zagging a bit on your way into the battle at the opening stages. Take a winding path instead of a straight line.
