The beauty of art is that there are no rules and there are no mistakes. Only things we don't particularly like we can transform into something we do. Art is so forgiving that is why it's a great stress reliever. Combined with journaling and you've got yourself a self councelling session. It's good that you've discussed this Meg. Sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves when it's supposed to be a fun and relaxing thing to do x x x

Best advice relates to making mistakes: you can always turn the page or cover it up. It took away my fear of the blank page/mistakes and means that I actually use the journals I buy.

As usual, this is really enjoyable, especially to learn that you too get overwhelmed with supplies. I make lots of mistakes- then tell myself that it really doesn't matter because very few people would notice anyway. I've lost count of things that I have covered up with paint, stickers or even glued pages together. I find it very difficult to start a new journal. I gather things together for days before I make that first step. Even when I've got a pile of papers ready, I am still reluctant to get going. So I watch another video and then another one and then all of a sudden I'm ready to begin. Thank you for sharing these tips they're so helpful.

I like that you say there are no mistakes and to just go for it.
I tend to get bogged down with everything being perfect. 😂

I so enjoy your videos! Yous so creative and inspirational and you have a lovely easy listening voice. Your channel is one of my go tos! I have never done an art journal, and will definitely start one soon. I’ve made a few junk journals. I just love the whole process finding it so relaxing. I am disabled and crafting helps me get through each difficult and videos like yours are such a bonus! Thank you for what you do xx

Your page is beautiful! I like this format. Great tips! The best advice is just to start and see where it takes you. I wanted to plan everything out first but once I gave that up and just start tearing paper and gluing it down it just clicked and I love it!

YESS!!! Getting Started is always the hardest part for me!!! I've wanted to make RUclips Videos for YEARS!!! I already have over 100 Subscribers & Not A Single Video is Uploaded!!! (NOT COOL!) I REALLY NEED to change/fix that! I don't have a stand to hold my phone & am having a hard time finding a way to get my phone to stay to where I can record from the "Top-Down" Angle like how your video is. Since I'm not working due to Spine Surgery, I can't purchase anything from Amazon right now, but I'd I can figure something else out for now... & JUST GET STARTED... I think it'd be SOOO COOL!!! ~🙏💙🙏Much Gratitude From the Carolinas🙏💙🙏~

Wishing you a speedy recovery from surgery! 💜 My set up is far from professional lol - I have one of those bendy desk phone mounts that I’ve attached to a pole, that’s then taped to my art cart 🤣

I forgot the other piece of advice is do not spend too much money on supplies, cheap supplies are fine. You do not need Artist grade everything. I overspent.

I have learned to do what I love in my junk journals and art journals. No rules. No junk journal or art journal police officers are coming for me. Creating is so satisfying when I love doing what I want.
