It's nice to see rebar installed properly on concrete dobbys and not thrown on the bottom on the base rock where it does little good. Your concrete contractor appears to being a doing a good job. I hope they are spraying the slab with curing compound after finishing is complete so the mix water doesn't evaporate. That's another important step I see that's missed in a lot of RUclips videos.
A very busy video to be sure Eric! First off my man, I wanted you to know just how much Your Fans really appreciate the concern and compassion you have for your fellow farming neighbors when they get by passed on those Hit-N-Miss showers! I know you all go through this too but it is wonderful to see the hopeful need you have for others. Not a surprise either as your Fans were drawn to this channel by your Families sincerity and hard work! Those side jokes really help too!🤣 Jack-hammering that cement off that metal pole was Clean! Awesome to see the progress in real time and Thanks for always including your Fan Base Eric! Sending Rain Vibes rot you and your neighbors! MOO From Next Door In COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
As an European contractor, i´m just astonished of the total abscence of concrete vibrators in the US. Spread it vibrate it screed it, flipper time and an broom stipe if needed and when aplay curing spray or an foil layer
Rain, the important and unpredictable commodity for our farming community. Like your compassion for your neighbor farmers, something lacking in our world today. We got 0.09" last evening - thunderstorm, our first for the summer.
I always notice his kindness 💖 to the girls 🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮. As a collective of feminine energy… I can tell you that they Love 💕 and appreciate the Kindness that Eric and his Dad show towards them and Everyone else. They are Good 👍🏻 people 💛 who continue to remain blessed 😇 because they Respect ✊🏻 all women. We 💞💖💝 appreciate that, as much as the men do. Thank you 🙏🏻 for being Such Good 👍🏻 folks Eric ! 💜
In 1983, we heard about computerized feeding. My Dad kinda scoffed at it. He passed away in 1996, but had accepted automatic take-offs. He started milking by hand in 1934 (8 years old) and passed away a few hours after his last milking of hitting a button, attaching the claw to each cow in the double 6, and standing back to wait for the detach. He probably would have looked hard at your system, and likely approved! Great video, can't wait for it to be up and going!
It is so exciting for all that you have been able to do to the farm and your home the last couple of years!! So looking forward to seeing the feeding robots work.
It's looking good, Eric. I agree with concrete around the silos. It will keep your area cleaner, allow the rain easier path to your storm water system, and make cleanup easier around the silos after filling. 👍
I’m excited to see that too! I have never seen them before and I’m wondering what they will look like and how they will work! This is a lot of investment in upgrades so hopefully 🙏🏻 it’s more than what they were hoping for ! fingers crossed 🤞🏻! 💜
@@TheBloodypete That’s a curiosity too… how big are they? How much feed do they carry and how long does it take to feed all of the cows 🐮🐮🐮? I’m so curious for future video updates from Eric and his Dad! I haven’t seen any on any other farm channels yet, this is going to be my first robot 🤖🌽🌾 feed viewing experience. 🐮🚜 👀 🍿
I think its going to be really cool when its all finished and running! Glad you got some rain! I'm not a corn expert... but if my veg garden's leaves look like that... its time for water.
I just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching your videos in my free time. I also wanted to say that you won't be disappointed with the feed robot you're getting. I work on a dairy farm here in virginia that has one, and it works so nicely. One of his silos was also built by the same people that built yours.
Thanks for filming this Eric. I'm excited to see your robotic feed system. You have covered all the bases so far and I expect good results for you. Cheers all. 🇨🇦
Nice job on the concrete to this point, thanks for the thorough explanation! I can appreciate what you're saying about the rain, we went through a drought last year, not fun and we just had a hay crop that suffered. I am happy to see you all get some rain! Thanks
The concrete lane for the feeder robot is longer than I expected. Also, it’s nice. You got some rain. Hopefully it cools down a little bit. Also Hope you get more rain than that can reach to the sky. 🙂🌱🌱🌿
It looks like things are really starting to come together, I am so glad for you guys to get the much needed rain. Being raised on a farm myself, the three most important things to a famer is, GOD, the rain and family! GOD bless you and your families and may you continue to get the life giving rain.
😊there's nothing more satisfying than playing with concrete... you can immediately see the improvement. That summer rain and standing out in it is good for the soul and bring a smile to the face...when you are a farmer any rain durning summer is a most excellent rain and gratefully appreciated 🤗
BTW. Love seeing the Amish guys working on the crew. My late father-in-law had them work on his barn outside of Punxsutawney. Very careful and skilled craftsman.
Of course it rained as I commented about being somewhat drought. One request in the next video. Can we get a drone shot to see it from above? Thanks again for sharing your life with us!!
Man we love how much you guys have done to upgrade the farm, think we subscribed to your channel when you had about 200k subscribers and we can't wait until you hit 500k. If you can plz do another Q & A with you dad we dont really get to see or hear much from. God bless you all wish your family nothing but the best.
Too bad about the lack of rain. Here in Wisconsin we seem to get an inch.. or 2.. or 4 every other day. Good to see the rain coming for you. Hope the weather normalizes! Your projects coming along well. Can see lots of planning going on.
When you lay some crushed stone on the dirty way, make sure to put a layer of landscape fabric first. Because if you lay the crushed stone directly on the dirt, it'll sink and makes a huge mess. Afterwards you have to put another load of crushed stone on it, because the first on is completely disappeared in the mud after one heavy rain! Just saying...
You guys will be busy in the Wintertime with keeping the Robot lanes clean from snow and ice. Question,.....will the Robots be programmed to fetch you a Mountain Dew or Chocolate Milk when needed?!?! (Ha!Ha!)
looking great shame work stopped for the rain but i think the crops need it more looking very nice all coming along nicely robots soon can not wait to see them
Lot’s of heat hard work on the farm makes a cool summer rain shower feel like “almost heaven” And when you need it so bad for the crops, you feel like “dancing in the rain” and shouting “thank you Lord!😊 I think you did both, right😂
A project for the future! All you farm owners come together in the area and find away of collecting all the storm water to use for farming so when a farm doesn’t get hit by a storm the neighbours have some collected that can be used, big project I know but will help to future proof lots of land for farming
I recently got a fairly big shed slab poured here in country Victoria Australia at my 20 acre property. I never tire from watching concreters at work, especially a guy that can squat down and level like that. Must burn the quads ! That formwork was impressive.
What a great video and coverage on the whole operation. Your commentary just keeps getting better every video you make. It shows as well by how many subscribers you have 445K and and as of now 14,528 views in just over 2 hours.
i hope you get rain, in Iowa our corn tasseled last month and its 10ft tall, worried our recent derecho was going to lay it down but it was like a wall of concrete!!!
Hi Eric, it's great you got rain that should help the corn take some stress off the plant. You sure have a lot of things going that is a lot of concrete. It's going to be great to see it all working. I asked a question last week about how will you keep an eye on things after it is all up and runing will you have a place on the grounds where you can keep an eye on things in case something goes out of normal op?
I thought of a suggestion for your silage bunkers . Anything direct to human consumption is a high value commodity . Maybe Mushrooms or bedding plants. I don't know what the cost , profit , amount of effort would be , just a thought .
You might have to pause the vector a few times when you fill that one silo or it’s gonna run into the power unit! Minor headache but looks great! I thought the vector had to follow metal strips. Are those surface applied?
That concrete company should send you a Christmas card, at least. Whew. Surprised you didn't put heat elements in the concrete - won't snow stop the robots?
I did some concrete work but nothing requiring skill we just pulled the concrete with a rake type device. The boss was yelling about working harder. He was in the Marines previously. I like bosses who do not yell😂
Big financial commitment all your viewers are pulling for you!
I was a concrete finisher for years, and the one sure way to get a rain storm is to start a cement job...Happens every time..lol
I agree 100%, I was in the landscaping business for 25+ years and dig a hole or trench a sprinkler line and it would rain.
Yep!
Amen brother, Amen
It's not cement it's concrete cement is. Just one of tha materials used to make concrete that's like calling. Oil gas
@@tylerwaldrup26 Thank you Captain Semantics. Pretty sure everyone knew what they were referring to.
