It's a regular 2m long white 5V LED strip that I hot glued around the blade (though, I probably should've gone for a slightly longer strip). I have the lights facing inwards toward the blade which makes the blade diffuse the light as shown. Yeah, I probably should've made it more clear in the video lol.
I’m glad I found this! Using the LEDs on the edge of the blade with the hot glue diffusing the light just a bit is genius! It looks way more like the game than any other prop I’ve seen, which is super impressive. Not sure if plexiglass might be more durable or not, but using colored acrylic was also genius. Other people I’ve seen use clear plastic that doesn’t glow as much or a cloudy resin that doesn’t have the same glowing effect this does. Seriously, just awesome. I also love the magnetic battery covers that blend in so well, and personally I like the small cutout in the blade not being there. I like solid blades lol
Good job, they make little hobby manual hand saws with varying styles of interchangeable blades that would be perfect for doing small areas like the tight corners. I'd suggest grabbing a set. It has hacksaw style blades that are varying lengths and widths, pointed on the end but with a wooden handle that lets you change the blades out. They are thin but rigid enough to be precise even on hard materials.
Might be a stupid question but how much did it cost to make this? Only wondering because I was thinking about trying to make this and I don't have a lot of money, and I suck at making complex things by myself
How much would I have to pay you to make one and mail it to me? This is by all means not an offer I just don't have the tools to make a crucible and I am curious about how much you would sell one of these for.
I'm a teenage girl too, I'm pretty sure you don't need like all of them, most of shown in the video are to make the job easier. You can cut the shape with a regular saw and just dust the edges but it will take longer
Bro, how are you doing the leds around the blade? What kind of leds are those
