4:28 Half the time you dont see it because its only one one side of the sword lol!
its part of the retention system he uses. the chain hooks onto a hook near his shoulder attached to leather straps, and a long chain goes around the bottom half of the blade at waist level on his back to keep it close to his body and not flopping around. when he draws the Dragonslayer, he uses his prosthetic to free the waist chain, and the act of lifting up the sword unhooks the chain from the hook.

I want to cosplay as Aba from Guilty Gear Strive and I just knew I had to make her axe. This video is just what I needed to learn so I can make a Paracelsus replica to go with my Aba. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to get started. Great video!

Man, godbless you. I was thinking of making one from wood but i kinda thought of how much more dificult that would be and heavy concidering i don't know anything from wood working and was planning to do some cool poses and scenes with the sword. All that I can say is that I am ecstatic of how you managed to create an exact copy of the dragon slayer more easily in a way. If you see this I hope to have your blessing and permission to build and use this sword for a cosplay THANKS!

That laugh at the end is what most Berserk fans express as a cry. Kentaro created a masterpiece. We mortals can only bask on his genius

The little bit of chain is how he hooks it to his back. So it doesn’t show up when it’s on his back because it faces inward. That’s why it’s “not there half the time.”

The small chain piece (I believe) is what keeps the sword in place when worn in the "sheath" on guts back, the tip sits in a small pouch and leans and the chainlink just connects to a hook supporting the opposite wnd of the sword from the pouch, thats why you only see it half the time when its out of the sheath, and not in, because its between the sword and his back

Berserk is one of the greatest manga's of all time, no questions asked. It's very well told, introduces lots of lovable or hated characters, and finally has great fights.
