So, he may not think that is a practical weapon that human can use. And although this is just my guess, Miura might take a inspiration of the dragonslayer from Gundam's beam saber. There're so many types of gundam exists, but one of them wields long, large beam saber.😁 And that gundam was animated and on-aired right before berserk started.

i saw a guy made the sword in narrow and wide version and its between 100kg for narrow and 150kg for wide version... i mean its not that hard calculating the weight if you have all 3 sizes

He had leverage, and was using his very whole, it's doable, thanks to leverage. Edit : it also helps that the weight is not focused on a "small" part, but all along for that leverage to be effective.

No way, it sure doesn't weighs like that. Average sword is never above 2 kilos (300lbs is 136 kilos), some super long swords are 3 kilos. I bet it's not 300 lbs, but maybe a 60lbs? Edit. Nevermind I forgot that it's even bigger than I thought.

I do not remember the name of the channel, but there is a guy that made a build of the dragon slayer out of a slab of iron that he cut with a torch and milled. If I am not mistaken, before working on it the slab was around 600 to 700 pounds so roughly 250 to 300 kg. After the milling, the final version of the blade only, without handle and half moon "guard" was close to 400 pounds, so more or less 160kg . Also during the whole process, the only way to move the blade was with a seated lift. Even adjusting the position for the mill was nearly impossible without it. If I find the videos again I'll let you know.

Shortly after seeing that however, it felt like they were everywhere. It took roughly another seven or eight years to actually learn the prime mover of the heavy blade in media.
So I think the smile on his face when he's saying about how he built the Sword and all that is because he knew exactly what he was doing by making a sword that no one could lift, its a case of ""yeah I build you a sword that can kill a dragon but you're too weak to lift it, it's not my fault you suck! I did my part your the one that isn't good enough for it""

Now we subtract 50% of this result since the swords edges are angled (less volume = less weight), and considering the tip is not rectangular, we're left with a weight of around 318 kgs but give or take since the 50% of weight we substracted is an educated guess.

If you practice your whole life with a sword bigger than you are, your muscles adapt. It likely feels awkward for gutz to wield anything smaller because he's been using a full size longsword by the age of 5.
I hope it's mentioned in the video but I remember seeing some guy who unironically was training himself (and others, apparently) to wield a sword like that. So I guess it's possible even if you weren't trained to do it since you were a kid, but the latter helps

Man, the inaccuracies here are numerous. I'll even include heathen measurements for you. Dragon slayer weighs 400 lbs, (about 180 kg) this is canon. It's blade length is 6' (178 cm) with the handle being an additional 14" (35 cm) this is also canon. Guts wields a long sword at age 5 weighing about 4 lbs, (2 kg) a great sword at 9 weighing double that, and a specialized sword at 16 weighing 12 lbs (5 kg). This is when he becomes the hundred man slayer, and I quote. "My sword is three times as thick, and does three times the damage of a normal sword." On average, even great swords never really get above 4 lbs. So it's safe to say his was 12. He then gets another specialized sword, even thicker and heavier. At least Double the weight of his previous weapon. So now we're looking at something between 24 and 34 lbs. (11-15 kg) Dragon slayer is made of common steel. Guts always wields Dragon slayer 1 handed because he's only got one hand.

@marvelousanime bro its dumb to assume guts cant swing an least 200+kg weapon . he is town lvl and is EXTREMELY strong even compared to humans in this series which are way stronger than real life humans. saying otherwise despite feats completely proving that is an appeal to reality

Man, the inaccuracies here are numerous. I'll even include heathen measurements for you.
Dragon slayer weighs 400 lbs, (about 180 kg) this is canon.
It's blade length is 6' (178 cm) with the handle being an additional 14" (35 cm) this is also canon.
Guts wields a long sword at age 5 weighing about 4 lbs, (2 kg) a great sword at 9 weighing double that, and a specialized sword at 16 weighing 12 lbs (5 kg). This is when he becomes the hundred man slayer, and I quote. "My sword is three times as thick, and does three times the damage of a normal sword." On average, even great swords never really get above 4 lbs. So it's safe to say his was 12. He then gets another specialized sword, even thicker and heavier. At least Double the weight of his previous weapon. So now we're looking at something between 24 and 34 lbs. (11-15 kg)
