Fun fact, doom was invented in 1993 while berserk Manga was introduced in 1989. What you meant to say is everyone has a little bit of Guts in them 😂 (however the 1vs 100 chapter came out way later but the idea of it was always there. The creator just took his time drawing perfectly)

Typically Guts uses the dragonslayer to cleave multiple enemies at the same time since he can't just focus on a single enemy the entire time, due to the mass of the weapon slowing it down even in his hands, so he's often forced to use it to make use of spacing his attacks and relying the kinetic force of the weapon's weight while swinging it to his advantage, though it helps that he has a mechanical arm with a magnet attachment to make it easier too.
Remember, he faced the 100 men before he had the robotic arm

Wiki states that the dragonslayer weighs about 625 lbs.
If this man can swing it hard enough and fast enough but not strong enough to continue doing so, he can blitz through his enemies with his barehands.
A full grown man can knock out another adult but have trouble swinging a zweihänder around which is 4.4 - 8.8 lbs.
This character gone and went 625 lbs. Im surprised the first punch he threw didnt knocked the head off the first enemy.

Small detail I haven’t seen mentioned yet but on I absolutely love, the way this guy grabs the blade for every other hit legitimately feels like a move that a sword of this size would necessitate. The weight is insane and unless the handle has insane counterweights wielding it by the blade feels like such an organic move in the middle of a fight.
Yeah. That's a legit greatsword technique. I've seen it explained or executed in some HEMA swordsmanship channels in YT. It was cool to see it in this vid.
Its realistically how a master would actually wield the sword to get the most out of it, the quicker you can move your weapon to attack or defend the deadlier you are with it, add weight to the equation and this becomes exponential

The really interesting thing about the dragon slayer is that it doesnt really matter too much how sharp it is, his enemies just get sliced in half by the sheer amount of weight being thrown at them at those crazy speeds
In reality you'd just mostly be crushed, not cut.

Unless you are like a walking fortress, even the most skilled strong fighter would be killed in a matter of seconds on the battlefield brandishing that sword.

Honestly i liked the Pre Eclipse Greatsword better than the Dragon Slayer, it acctually behaved like a greatsword and not a hunk of steel, never found out what happened to it, i think he just left it when he gone after Griffith right before the Eclipse, and it just got lost never to be found, then again i might be wrong, its a while since a watched the 97 and 2016 animes

Truly. The dragonslayer has been described as more of a club than a sword and the clobbering being done attests to it.
I’d even say the use of enemy weapons isn’t too far off either, guts was never opposed to using all the tools he could to his advantage

Guts knows better to not do 360s and expose his back to the enemy
@@ambustio9807 I've actually seen that spin moves work well when you're surrounded, makes enemies less inclined to rush you from behind since they can't predict when your blade will be swinging at them.
i like how most of your swings were downward or large sweeps like the thing was actually heavy. you also held onto the blade a lot which is a nice touch

Probably the most realistic depiction of how a person who could lift and swing Guts' sword with some effort would fight a horde of people.

@@xenokiller88_cm_79 I think they were reffering to during that actual 100 man fight. In the story it happened before Gut's got the Dragonslayer, in that fight he did get exhausted even though the sword he was using was smaller than Dragonslayer.

Top quality video, he is wielding a massive sword ingame and irl he's throwing that sword around with two light controllers but makes it look and feel like he's playing with a giant sword irl, keep up the good work
The only thing unrealistic about this is how a flimsy dagger manage to block the heap of iron swung at full rotation... well, that and the sword itself I suppose.
Also the amount of times the greatsword just harmlessly bounced off of their legs
And the fact that literally nobody was sliced in half. With how heavy and sharp it is, it should be theoretically able to cut through steel so there's no reason why it couldn't leave through someones torso.

As someone who has used this mod, that praise should be to the mod dev. The sword itself feels and acts that heavy IN GAME. Like, you can't jump while you hold it, because if you do you only lift like an inch off the ground

The way when was growing tired he kept getting thrown into the wall and using his arm to keep himself on his feet was cool to watch as a B&S player myself, I can tell you that what he did is not easy.
@Floron most of the time VR movements feel unrealistic for viewers becuase the "sword" is actually weightless in real life, since its just a controller. he could also just wave the sword around like a paper straw or something

This reminds me of a time when I got bored, and decided to fist fight people. Disarmed 1 guy, and kicked it into another person's head, (with foot trackers) threw aforementioned disarmed guy into another person off a cliff, knocked an unsuspecting enemy over by kicking him where the sun don't shine, and crushing his head while someone turned the corner.
I wasn't trapped in the dungeon with those AI. They were trapped in here with ME.

The fun part is that-
Thanks to the armor, the weight of the sword makes for very deadly blunt force trauma.
Interesting fact about large/heavy weapons:
The reason why the weapon was feeling heavy and he was tired, was because he kept stopping the weapons momentum. In some cases he swung horizontally but instead of using his whole body to spin, keep the weapon moving and letting gravity do the work, he abruptly stops, forcing him to basically pull the weapon from the ground or use all his strength to stop the weapon from moving. Combine that with the strength he needs to swing the weapon again and Yeah, you get tired easily.
With large and heavy weapons you always want to have fluitity in your movements, see it as an extension of your body.
I remember when my friend first let me try this game, I got fed up with using the weapons and opted to use the nearby clay pot instead. It made for a fine bludgeoning tool and shield, I must say.

I really do like how instead of cutting them in half, most of them were just out right CRUSHED by its weight, much like in the actual scene where only a select few of the knights were actually killed by being cut
this was amazing. I just feel complete knowing that this kind of content exists. and my guy, I did not notice any cursor on the screen because I was too busy watching a full movie with a plot. I needed this and thank you.

The enemies: We've hit him 4 times now, he's mortally wounded. We have him surrounded.

Whenever you see the dragon slayer in games its either a complete meme or a baloon without any weight behind it i need to get me vr and this game already
I absolutely love how much of this fighting is very close, if not identical, to what I have been taught in my HEMA class on Zeeihänder and Montane. With the only exception that, unlike this sword, a real two-hander is very nimble and quite light, a healthy person with good footwork can go on for quite some time with it
Timeline info: At the 100 kill campaign, Guts had not obtained the Dragon Slayer until Griffith's ascension
But this vid is quite enjoyable though🤩
Guts was wielding a smaller sword, but still huge as hell compared to most swords people wield in the series. And he was in about the same state that this guy was in toward the end.

Random side note:
Berserkers from Norse mythology actually bit the ends of their shields to send them into somewhat trance like state where they couldn’t feel pain or exhaustion, it was said with proper training just one berserker is enough to take on about 20 men.
The numbing amount of shrooms would probally help, and of course beinf fearless of death.
An animal with nothing left to lose is at it most dangerous, i suposse its the same with warriors. Fun what valhalla does to a man.
Fun fact, William the conqueror actually lost a battle to vikings because of one berserker who held a bridge until he was killed by an englishman floating underneath
There is also an actual medical state that the berserkers had. Its a genetic trait. If you are from any northern english contries, odds are you have it. I forget the name, but it literally has "berserker" in the name. Basically the Berserkers would wear gloves without knuckle coverings because they would fall into a state where they go as their name suggests, berserk. They go almost feral, ripping and slicing into anyone and anything. Usually the only way they could snap out of it was to feel the enemies blood on their hands. Thus the open gloves. The feeling of blood would snap them out of their "blood rage" before they can go berserk among their own ranks.

@@toecheese9935 Well not really. Because even though your senses are dulled, you don't become harder than tungsten or something like that. you're still just as tough as you were when out of the state. It's just harder to take you down instantly because of the dulled pain receptors.
That and you are not physically and demonically enhanced to be a god
