I have a ae86 carb auto but just got a full swap and harness interior too from a fx16 anyway I can make this work in mines or do I need a complete gts harness ? Also will I need to do anything to my carb dash harness to get everything working as key and oil and water gauges ?
@Burntoast914 you'll mainly need the 14 pin ecu connector. It's what gives the engine and ecu power. You the fx16 harness may already have that now that I think of it. The rest is just wiring a few wires to 12v and it'll fire up. The wire colors should all be the same or close for oil pressure and water temp.
Just to clarify, for the brown wire in the new 14pin connector, you just spliced that into the brown wire on the middle connector right? Did you do anything with the brown wire that came from the original connector at 16:30 where the other blue and yellow wires for the afm came from? My afm seems to not be working it behaves the same when unplugged. It stumbles when I stab the throttle but revs fine if I go slowly.
Let me double check when I get some time. There's a black/red wire that ends somewhere near the battery. Make sure that is getting 12v. Should have a connector on it of some sort. I was having the same issue and that ended up being the culprit.

@ so the ecu used two harness plugs from motor and the 3rd from interior now do I have to wire up that 3rd one as well ?
What is the harness that goes towards rear of car along door sill? Does it go to handbrake? Which model year?
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. 🤔

@@leveledupgarage5303 Okay for sure man, I’ll check that too. I appreciate it
@@leveledupgarage5303 life saver man! It was the black and red wire by with the A* connector that powers the afm
@MrGorpstine awesome man. Glad that worked.
does your car not have the chassis side of the connector at 26:50? on mine it has a matching plug
also i can't seem to find any 14 pin connectors, any place you know i could find one?
No they hacked that plug out.
And you can get them from any 4age powered car. So mr2 or ae88 etc. I'd ask on some mr2 facebook pages
@@leveledupgarage5303 ok so now i've got the connector, my friend grabbed me one from a junkyard mr2, about to try wiring it in soon
@@leveledupgarage5303 thanks for the help!
