But you got it all, because of these videos you save me a lot of time, energy, money and materials, making your own strobe can be a finicky process to get just right. 1:20 I borrowed my mom's coffee bean grinder. Chlorate and Nitrate into a fine powder. Now I wonder how poisonous it is but I washed it as well as I possibly could. Also, I think I ground it with sugar or charcoal + sulfur. It never catched fire though. Maybe I was lucky?
@nattsurfaren what kind of nitrates and chlorates? There is many around , and yes , if you have grinded oxidizers with fuels and nothing happened, you're lucky . Specially with chlorates
@@anifireff4855 the original strobe formula is 60% Ap / 15 % Ba sulfate /5% pot dichromate and 25 % magnalium with 4 % of either vaseline or NC laquer . I'm not changing measurements , percentages are identical to original formula , I'm just playing with different magnalium mesh sizes combinations but not varying the overall percentage.
@ReeferGuy562 on my strobe one pounders I usually go for 7500/7700 max on the whistles and 7000 max on the strobe fuel , I find out that pressing strobe over 7000 changes the behavior of it by slowing it down
Appreciate the info. Never considered changing pressures mid motor but since we’re switching comps this makes a whole lot of sense. Will give this a shot 👍 Btw since your strobe comp is wetter then normal, last batch I made I spatula’d it after mixing on sieve to make a thin even layer . Cut dry time in 1/2 🎉
@@Pyroflorida instead of drying in mixing container, I spread the wet comp across the bottom of the sieve that I will use to granulate once dried. This way it’s got airflow from top and bottom
Florida Pyro what the trick to mixing the powder(I can only get Bullseye in my area)and the acetone seems hard to get the clumps out…using 10 grams Bullseye to 1/2 cup acetone Keep the videos coming 🙏
@zuess8018 bullseye is a very good option and it contains more nitro than green dot apparently, it should dissolve easily, I usually let it seat for a couple of hours after mixed with acetone, and mix it pretty well before use . Like always , nice to hear from you.

Strobe fuel works as a combination of low and high temperature oxidizers for it to create the oscillation. So the AP is the low temp constant oxidizer and the barium sulfate is the high temp oxidizer
@HenrikSherwood Henrik , question for you , do you know if ap or the ba sulfate suffers degradation over Time , having issues with strobe fuel not performing as expected, ( low pops) I'm using the exact chems as before , ap , ba sulfate , pot dichromate all double bagged and sealed inside a controlled temperature room , purchased a good qtty of them about 1 year ago.. my fuel making process never changed , same chems etc

Yes, you want your AP and ba sulfate dry , place them in the oven a 250 for an hour or you can also use a infrared lamp , moisture will affect the ratio definitely

When you r drying your water granulated fuels with a heat lamp do u also apply gentle airflow with a small fan or is it unnecessary? I know people say its best to dry as fast as possible for good power so was just wondering, nice vid to 😁

@@I_Like_CATOs I never rush the drying part of it , I usually water/alchohol granulate, then let it seat overnight on a temp controlled room then getting the fuel under heat lamp for a few hours Is always a goog idea to weight the batch before granulation , and weight it again after the heat lamp process, if is still any humidity still on the fuel will be reflected on the weight.

@bigray7647 this is a strobe fuel video. Not a whistle fuel video nothing is missing .. strobe fuel doesn't use red iron oxide at all like whistles do. The pleghmatizer on this formula is the nitrocellulose laquer , that eliminates the need of using wax or oils. Anyway a 1% oil can be added in order to desensitize the mix a little if desired, but is not necessary
@bigray7647 also kclo4 is not used I strobes as well , primary oxidizers are AP and pot dichromate. There is a formula that I developed time ago that includes only 5% kclo4 in order to slow down the cycle but is a non common formula

@mohammedfalah4575 there is only one reason why people is so focused in learning how to make their own , it's because pyro companies doesn't make them, and the only way to enjoy them is by making your own , strobes are considered ilegal for comercial sales , but isn't illegal to make your own and launch them . That first motor with Hp140-4c provided lots of initial impulse , second motor with that little Khp also pushed hard , I think according to report delay it went at least 2000 ft.

@@phuongtran5912 nitrocellulose must be made out of smokeless pistol gun powder and can only be mixed with acetone. Any other alterations will affect the quality of the strobe. Base mix chemicals should be dry 100% , (dehydrated ) , infra red lamp is a good option. Depending in the quality and purity of your chemicals is how strobe will perform , sometimes blade milling the base mix is not enough , in that case ball milling is necessary, and of course the quality of the magnaliums is very important. Strobe fuel is the most difficult rocket fuel to make , many experienced pyros can't successfully make it , it's a very tricky fuel for sure. Where you buy your chemicals from?
On the first motor I used HP140-4c that's a well known rocket fuel meant to lift heavy payloads in fireworks. Like any other fuel , that's something you have to make , there is no where you can find it
why not paraffin candle wax as the rocket fuel part, with some oxidizer mix. it can easily made liquid and mixed. easier than sugar. what about liquid solvent pla plastic as the fuel, nail polish remover replacement as the solvent. ethyl acetate. the solvent can be evaporated to make the mixture solid. yes the solvent is for liquid mixing purposes only. unless you want a liquid boom boom stuff.

No liquid boom boom stuff here.

@@Pyroflorida This was a very long time when I was a teenager but sodium-based compounds are what is available in Sweden because it is less expensive.

No I don't, black copper II oxide is used on one of my Sali whistles for delay purposes. I call it gray sali.
Sir. I make sodium benzoate and kno3 for whistle and mix through lacquer thinner but why still blasting or boom. Not whistle.
