Bart love your bike reviews. Noted you added the Redshift sports stem to your Headlands 2. If I'm correct the bike comes stock with a 70mm stem did you mount a 90mm Redshift? Did that change the intended geometry of the bike? Does the Redshift give you action something like the Future Shock? I had that on my Comp Carbon.
yes, the 90mm Redshift stem did change up the geometry just a tad bit, I like it though! Still very nimble but when I am really pushing the speed it helps me use all my lungs. still wheelies well as well. yes, the action is like having the future shock! Great question thanks
@@TheBicycleRider Love your bicycle reviews so realistic. One final question would you take the Marin headlands 1 or the specialized base carbon? The big deal for me was the GRX but you are putting such a good promo on the sram axis.
No this was on the flat, in the front bunch these guys are flying 36 mph might have been on a slight downhill grade but it was right by the main entrance of the city dump, that road gets a lot of use and was really torn up after the rain that day. It was quite a race The mud puddle after you took the corner definitely had a dump stank to it but during racing it just added the the competition. Lol.
@@TheBicycleRider That is interesting. Right now I'm deciding between the 1 and the 2. But I want something that goes faster. Is the headlands 2 faster than the 1 or they are similar in performance? Because if the 1 can do what the 2 does in terms of speed then, I would go with the 1. But if the 2 is faster then I would go with the 2. Let me know what you think.
@@f50koenigg , Good question If you look at the numbers the headlands 1 , is running a 40 front chain ring with an 11:42 rear cassette. The headlines too has a 42 front and an 1142 on the back so theoretically the headlands 2 should be faster. I do like both bikes but the two with the GRX is really sweet. I am a high of cadence guy so that helps me with the one by gearing and top speeds. I looked at my Strava from last night's ride in the shop Marin Gestalt X10 and hit 36 mph. Hope this helps
@@TheBicycleRider Also, I like to ask as hows your experience with the mechanical disc brake on the x10? Because I watched a video that the breaks aren't very good ruclips.net/video/g8p263WUBew/видео.html
@@f50koenigg , I have used the stock brakes on my x-10 in racing and daily commuting for many years now , I will be rididng my x-10 to work tomarrow morning and they work good !. I do have GRX hydraulic brakes on my Diverge that work much better but that bike costs twice as much . the X-10 is great for the money and the brakes work good for me . but if you have the cash to step up you can get really good hydraulic brake that work better .
This guy is awesome. Those bikes are sweet. Specially that Headlands 2 with those Crankbrothers wheels.

So what is the difference between the 1 and 2? Performance wise.
When you are reaching 36mph, was it on the downhill?
