The HeadLands is unquestionably the best bike Marin has ever produced. The assembly is near- top notch, although I much prefer slick tyres to off-road ones, but then again - for Me, a gravel bike is an adventure road bike - one I can loaded tour with as well as do fast road rides, and venture onto gravel when out of better options (i.e., tarmac).
I'm at the stage where I don't feel the urge to do technical trails all that much and rather than three or four bikes I'd just like one that does everything. Great film
I got the news yesterday that I'll probably lose my job in the next few days. I woke up today anxious, with my heart racing. One of the first thoughts to calm me down was to replay this whole 13 minutes. Thanks Gee and the whole team. Watching the whole build process really helped. This is anxiety therapy for bike passionates.
I really like this one. You really captured the "mechanic at work". More technical "how to" and procedure than many of your videos. And again, IMO, bare hands look better than black gloves.
Just because bike manifacturers can't do a pressfit threaded is no better, especially if there isn't a single aluminium sleeve... Also on threaded bb the bearing are press-fitted in the cups
@@LucaBonato yes indeed, and it makes the the BB box narrower and the chainstays slimmer (especially on a gravel frame designed for wide tires) wich is more flexy and fragile... A well made press fit is the good system in my opinion.
What a Beautiful bike. I've been riding the same Marin Bear Valley se since 96. Which I still love. But this tempts me to buy a new Marin. Great build.
i love all your videos is really sick but i need a dream build with a downhill bike,i 'ill wait cause you are the best, keep doing what you do because you are doing so well
I think gravel bikes look cooler with mountain bike tires on them but I do a 50/50 mix of road and dirt and would never want such slow tires on my gravel bike. I always think it's a little silly when people pay extra for lightweight carbon frames and lightweight, aero carbon rims and then put big heavy tires on anyway. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to keep it on the trail. And they look great this way.
I'm user of gestalt x10 for 1 and half years..very capable bicycle and nice paintwork, satin silver..i used my bike as a excercise and do light touring and long distance riding.looks alike i need to upgrade my bike with this one, more attractive..
But somehow,i'm always misleading by other regarding my bike.they are confused, look like roadbike frame, but single chainring with big cassete.when i told them this is gravel bike, they r confused and didnt know much.here, this kind of bike not yet popular.but, due to wierd character,my bike always been a chatting starter among riders when we have any event,haha..
@Kleiner Helfer Tell me about it, I haven't stepped foot inside a bike shop in over 10 years or more. I buy frames direct from the manufacture or friends and build what I want. I have even bought some bikes from bikesdirect.com that were and still are a fantastic deal compared to anything that you would find in a bike shop. I will be honest though I am true to Shimano I have never had any problems with any of their component, I can't say the same for SRAM.
Hey if you use a pipe cutter instead of a hacksaw, it makes an awesome sound when you cut the pipe, pls it’s not as brutally loud( I skip the hacksaw bit )
I’ve looked at the Headlands but I thought it was absolute covered with pack and bottle mounts and I didn’t want that. It looks super slick here though. We’re the mounts filled and the frame re-sprayed?

That saddle is so uncomfortable
More gravel builds please, especially ti. You're awesome!!😊🐦
Hi Gee, will you ship them to Vietnam?
@@saigonmorningride4238 We ship all over the world yes!
13 minutes and 33 seconds of escapism. Mechanic makes it look so easy. Thank you
With a little experience and all of the tools, yeah, it should be that easy.
It is all about practice and experience.
Kudos to Marin for incorporating a fork crown eyelet in the HeadLands frame and a threaded bottom bracket shell in their finest bike to date!

This bike build is very relaxing and calming to watch.
Bike restoration too. 😉

Beautiful bike. Beautiful build. Beautiful music. Thanks guys 😊
Zen & the art of Bicycle maintenance. Loved this, relaxing bedtime viewing. Top work 🤙🔥🛠️🚴
Marin is genuinely an awesome company.
The anodized bolts on the disk rotors were a great touch
Thanks for the gravel builds. I hope we get more
That's a thing of beauty. Gorgeous video too. Thanks for sharing.
Love the sound of the wheel spindles going in.. Sad really but great to watch.. Great to see the build as a fan of Juliette's videos.. Lovely bike
your builds are just relaxing af man
Thank you. I had an anxiety attack the whole day. This has helped calm me down and ground me.
Another gorgeously shot and paced video. You do honor to the bicycle.
Easily one of the most satisfying videos I've seen.
That's a piece of art right there... looks absolutely amazing.
looking sweeeeet, special colour is great :)
Awesome keep up the great work with these awesome bikes

And yet I watch at 2160p and the more I watch, the more it makes me want a gravel bike
threaded BB for the win
But BSA and not T47 which is odd

its so beautiful watching the bike getting into shape!!!

Great filming, nice work!
Marin Headlands 2 comes stock with a dropper. Marin has their head in the game for sure
Another amazing build, another amazing video. Thanks for making these. So damn relaxing to watch. Perfect end to a stressful day.
I enjoyed every step of the making, and hope to have a bicycle like this one day. Cool bike, nice video, love it. 👍
I have no idea how much time it took to edit the video but it's honestly magic ! It really gives the willigness to come and buy this bike !
Beautiful Work Of Art !
That brooks saddle is sweet!
This is my therapy session.....
I like that he left a little bit of steerer tube above the stem instead of how that other guy does it, always undercutting.
I watched one video....then another.........then another. Next thing you know i'm smashing the like button and clicking the subscribed button.
That’s what we like to hear!
The looks is so nice..definitely Dream Build..
this is the best carbon bike in the world
I never understood ASMR until now. So relaxing....
I take it Marin saw @JulietElliott's previous home builds and said let's leave it to the pros
I already love your work, a hug from Argentina
That is not how installing tubeless tyres happens for me 😄
Just relax and see this video
Yeah the bikes is nice!..but I'm more enjoying to see the process of installing all the parts from A to Z..so smooth!
All of a sudden I want a gravel bike 🥰😍
Yes, I agree.
The Swiss army knife of the bike world.
As opposed to the one trick pony of a racing bike..
Really nice frame. Loved the Brooks saddle but would prefer Shimano groupset and Mavic wheels. Still a gorgeous looking bike.
Beautiful. I love Marins and this one looks amazing!
Fantastic video ! I love it !
i love all your videos is really sick but i need a dream build with a downhill bike,i 'ill wait cause you are the best,

Gee Milner: Dream Build
Me: Just Dreaming doesn't have money to Build One :(
Is that Juliet Elliot’s bike ? Pretty much the exact build !
yes, it is.
ribs oh duh! Just read the description. Lol.
Amazing
Perfect bike
One of the most beautiful dream build you’ve posted. What kind of spacers did you put in the crankset?
@Kleiner Helfer To get the proper chain line width.
@Kleiner HelferYes, it does that's correct.
@Kleiner Helfer the spacing shouldn't be more than 3mm or so sometimes even less, there wouldn't be any problems.
@Kleiner Helfer I really like bicycles, but I love the people that ride them and repair them.
@Kleiner Helfer Tell me about it, I haven't stepped foot inside a bike shop in over 10 years or more. I buy frames direct from the manufacture or friends and build what I want. Hunter Wright pipe cutter on carbon steerer?
Oh you can’t on carbon?
I agree, it's a painful sound!!
The thru axle sound is awesome 👌
very good and beautifull job : love this bike and I really want it ! sniff
It's looks and ever will run pretty good but the thing is that they aren't cheap.
well at least Marin bikes are one of the best bang for the buck bike brands.
this must be a DREAM job ☺
Dream bike!
Love these dream builds. But for the love of God these saddles are far from Dream seats lol. Thanks for the Video!
Hey dreambuild. I. Love all of your bikes! Hopping i can have one of them.
