Thank you sooo much for posting this! I am preparing for my visa now so these tips are heaven sent lol. Quick question. Did you have to get the medical certificate translated to Spanish?
The Houston consulate provides a form with both the English and Spanish translation www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/houston/en/ServiciosConsulares/Documents/MEDICAL%20CERTIFICATE%20001.pdf
Of course!! Glad you found them helpful ☺️ No it doesn't have to be translated. If you're going through the Houston consulate they don't require anything to be translated.
What a great video, thanks. I wish I came across this sooner. Quick question, for step 9 "Proof of residence in the consular district", what if you do not have a driver's license? Would a voter registration card do? Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video!! Can I ask how you went about making an appointment? It seems that they just simply want us to mail them all the documents we have yet I see so many people saying we must make an appointment first.
Of course babe glad you found it helpful! It does not have to be notarized. Just apostilled. Here is the site with instructions on how to do this. Also do not remove the staple when you get the apostille back. travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/records-and-authentications/authenticate-your-document/requesting-authentication-services.html?fbclid=IwAR1WKnKHcsxc2QWvxHY2J7c_dVK9S3ar1k88q5nXncH89CehB1gDgL9ZaiY

Hi thanks for your video, I am looking for help for the LA consulate especially making appointment. Curios though do you know of a Facebook group by Spainards that is not restricted to English Assistants? TIA
This is the link to apply for an appointment for the LA consulate app.bookitit.com/en/hosteds/widgetdefault/275f65e80ce06aaf5cd24cebd11311897#services I was a part of internations which is like a meetup group for expats. So not just English assistants but anyone living in Spain.
Can I get my visa in Spain. I’ve been trying to get my apostille back and it’s taking forever. I have everything but this stupid Apostille. There’s seem to be this back up. I’m getting frustrated.
Unfortunately you have to get your visa while you're still in the US. My apostille took about 4 weeks last year. Just inform your school that you're waiting on your visa documents. Many people have had to do this in the past so don't worry about it too much. The schools understand that this is out of your control.
Does anyone know how get an appointment with the LA consulate?? I tried online but it doesn’t let me click on the dates available and I’ve been trying for a week already 😭
it didn't let me either! Try messaging the FB aux group to see if anyone else has had this issue. There is an LA consulate section Here's the link facebook.com/groups/spainauxies
Hi, are you applying through the Los Angeles consulate? sorry for asking I'm just also having a difficult time understanding how to get my background check apostilled lol
@@leslieruby3295 Hi! I just called they said that as long as your background check has the signature and official stamp of the FBI and then you can send it to this address: U.S. Department of State Office of Authentications CA/PPT/S/TO/AUT 44132 Mercure Cir. PO Box 1206 Sterling, VA 20166-1206 Don't forget to fill out the form found here: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/records-and-authentications/authenticate-your-document/office-of-authentications.html As part of the package, add a return envelope, so they can send it back (you can pay for expedited mailing if you are in a rush) Here is a list of proper translators if you need this document translated: www.exteriores.gob.es/es/ServiciosAlCiudadano/Paginas/Traductores-Interpretes-Jurados.aspx
@@aprilsim3141 Yes it might be similar! I recommend you to use monument visa to get your FBI background check apostille, it's a bit expensive but they handle all the apostille process for you!

Are you trying to apply through the consulate of Spain in San Francisco? I’m also having that problem. I can’t schedule an appointment on the website.

@@VanTravels_ cool! Thank you for the info!
Is there a way to have the fingerprints & background check all done digitally to save time?
yes it is an option. There are instructions on this site www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks
It costs $50 extra though to do it digitally. I opted for the non digital and it took a little over a week to get back.
Did you have to get the copy of your drivers license notarized?
no I didn't!
Do I have to take the documents I submitted for the visa to Spain so that I can get my foreigner identity card? Thank you!
There are different documents required for the TIE; I did bring the documents from my Visa with me to Spain but ended up not using most of them.
@@VanTravels_ thank you!!
How much is needed to start. Is 2000 enough?
to be honest, I'd recommend at least $3,000
