Hi Christina, I am going through a similar process, so I greatly appreciate this video! Did you have to translate and notarize your FBI Background check? It seems that notarizing required, from what I read on the department of state website. Regarding the translation, this was listed as part of the requirements for me. My Background check is also 4 months old now. Did the Spanish government say how recent the FBI background check needs to be?
Thanks! Did the FBI Background Check need to be the actual paper copy sent to you by the govt? Or can you just print the PDF and have that get apostilled? Does the printed PDF have to be notarized before you send it to be apostilled? Edit: I see below in the comments the PDF version is fine, and I found out it does not need to be notarized :)
Hi Christina, how long did it take for your the FBI CRC to be apostilled ? There are some sites saying 12 weeks, this video was two months ago and now you are in Spain, so obviously the apostille did not take 3 months as stated on some websites. Also would you recommend using an apostille company instead of doing myself ?
Hi! So best thing to do is to contact your local congressman. If you just google your hometown congressman the person will come up and then contact their office and tell them you need to get your fbi record apostille for a visa. That’s what I did, I just had to prove flights out of the US and I got it done in 10 days!
@@christinaadavis I am sorry I have to ask you a stupid question. I downloaded form 4194 for the apostille, should I print the form doubled-sided or single-sided ? I want to be extra careful since it take 8 weeks. I do not want them reject my application due to the reason that my summited 4194 form is single-sided or double-sided. I know is a stupid question, but I just have to ask, thank you !
@@AoyamaIchome do not worry at all! I get it, it’s such an annoying process you don’t want to mess it up! I did it all single sided and it was good! One thing to note is when it asks you what country on I think the second page or end of first make sure you are putting Spain so they know what country it will be used in
@@christinaadavis thanks a lot Christina.I really appreciate it, you’ve really helpful. Looking forward to your house hunting videos, all the best with that
@@christinaadavis May I ask you a question, for Spanisch work visa, is it mandatory to obtain a FBI criminal background check ? Can I get one from local police station ?
Very helpful; thank you!
