Awesome video! Not a lot of info on the digital nomad visa with a US focus. What about if I am working remotely for a US company? It's a bilingual business so I got the contract in both english and spanish, and they can issue me the authorization directly in spanish: does that work for the application without the need of a translator?

Hi Christina! Does an Associate's Degree (AA) plus work licenses count towards the undergraduate degree/certification requirement? I have been working for an insurance company since September, 2024 as an independent contractor (1099).

Great info and video. Yeah Spain will kick your butt with the tax rate on digital nomads. Do you have to pay those high taxes to Spain and also pay Uncle Sam? Or is it one or the other?

Oh wow I can relate so much to all of this!! I forgot to comment on your “outgrowing your hometown” video but I looooved it. The guilt, uncertainty, missing family but not vibing with the environment anymore and no one caring about any of it - so relatable (to the average digital nomad I mean!). Def don’t trick yourself into thinking you’ll be happy in Jersey, as much as you want that to be the case. If I could snap my fingers and want the suburban Massachusetts life with my friends and family, I probably would too but it’s just not realistic, at least not in our 30s at least (I’m about to turn 31 too!). I also don’t agree with the previous comment that you should just “hustle in America” considering your whole brand is work life balance and finding a life you love - you’ve literally fought to validate and overcome that mindset, don’t lose it! As for taxes, have you considered Malta? I know it’s a tax haven for lots of people but idk they new digital nomad visa requirements and whether you need to be there for 3 or 6 months. Super sleepy version of Barcelona but the English and vibes are great until you hit your monthly requirement and can go elsewhere. As for mental health, have you done BetterHelp? I highly recommend it, affordable and convenient. And with content - pivot girl! Balance your new interests with keyword research and see what sticks! You’re super likable, so don’t limit yourself. My favorite parts of your content is when you talk about mindset, but that’s also just my thing. I like your view of the world. Oh last thing, this is becoming a novel, EMBRACE the uncertainty and reframe it as a blessing (I literally had to brainwash myself to think this way this year). 99.99% of the world know exactly what next year will look like, good or bad. We’ve been taught that we’re supposed to know and that uncertainty is scary but it’s also exciting! Trust yourself and the lives you guys have created for yourselves up until now! You’ve made it work and you’ll continue to do so. It’s harder as we get older because we have an underlying need to nest and build the life we’ve been told we should have by now, but it’ll all fall into place just don’t pressure yourself to have it all figured out or your falling right back into the trap and mindset you’ve fought so hard to get out of!

I've heard Sant Antonio has potentially gotten a bit worse due to it being so close to El Raval? Do you still live in that area and/or recommend this as a top 3 location to live in?

As a young person, you should be hussling and trying to make it in the US (this is just my opinion) I lived in France for 4 years, that continent is dead for young ppl trying to make it. Once you retire, then you can try to make Europe happen. There is nowhere like the US to get ahead in life.

I love your videos and especially your honesty❤️. Sometimes choosing the type of lifestyle you want means sacrificing a part of your life and in your case is that you get to see your family less. I’m 18 so you might know more than me but the only advice I could give you is that anytime you feel upset because you’re not with them remember how lucky you are to be able to talk to them on the phone still. There’s people who can’t do that and you can and that’s beautiful too even if it doesn’t feel the same as being there. But your feeling are totally valid and I understand it because I live abroad too. I hope you will manage to balance family time and your life abroad more(pretty sure you will)❤️

Hi Christina, thank you for your videos and sharing. Much appreciated. I’d love to live in Barcelona. However, I’m not able to move to Spain with the digital nomad visa. There’s a Master’s program in Barcelona that I’m interested in. Would you know whether there’s a way for a foreign student to stay in Barcelona or Spain after the study? Also, would learning Spanish help to integrate with the life in Barcelona? Or, is it not going to matter as Catalan is used in Barcelona? Thank you.

I rent a part furnished 1 bed in El Raval for €750 pcm. And never had an issue in the two years I've been here. There's the odd seedy street that's easily avoided an I feel 100 times safer than in the UK. Great place for a male with a little street sense. Maybe not so much if you're a female

I didn't really understand the explanation of how an American LLC and specifically one that is taxed as an S-Corp is seen as not good if it's treated the same way in Spain? So in other words if you have an LLC in the US taxed as an S-Corp and it's treated the same way in Spain then you would be seen as an employee of your own company therefore you would be able to come in as an employee and take advantage of the Flat tax rate on foreign income and the Beckham law. Is this not a way to get around the current SSA agreement issue or am I missing something here?

Actually, I was in the phase of gathering the documents but my lawyer did not tell me about the social security tax. Now, I have doubts if Spain is the best option... :/

Can you explain how your healthcare works? I've seen on the DNV requirements that you have to provide your own health insurance.
