Imagine with such performance this was the only time ever that the Band lost to Tabuley in those Tele ZAIRE competitions. I have already commented previously why this was so.
Could Abubbakar Siddkh reproduce the full VIDEO covering Franco's performance and that of Tabuley and Mbilia Bel in the Wedding Dress for viewers to understand what I have been writing about
The wizardry of Franco's playing the guitar makes song reach the climax of a well composed song by the greatest composer of Rhumba music in the then ZAIRE now DRC of course that is Lutumba.
Let therefore the DEBATE about who was the Best singer among Francos Band Chanters continue because the Grandmaster himself assigned each singer on how they fitted in with the END product of each piece.

+Eugene Magina I did not read the look on Carlyto's face at 0.45 as anything but showmanship--he is having fun, and makes that face. It's a live show, and Carlyto plays it up for the audience. I don't know that we can read anything more into it.
Hahahha you need to know their relationship and the guitars too.. This two never went together on stage as also Le poet in latter years never performed with his boss on stage so if you are as keen, old and have had time to follow this group live then you will read what lies under
Many thanks Eugene, for the behind the scene information. I have followed OK Jazz for more than four decades and, thanks to the clarity of the lyrics, learned the language enough to understand the songs. One day, perhaps, in my gentle retirement, I will get the courage to write a book on this genius of African music. Every tidbit of information would be useful for such a huge project.
I always think it was Carlyto who began singing just a few seconds earlier than expected, perhaps the thrill of being live on stage, he hears Francos guitar realizes his slight mistake and goes on as if nothing happened!
