You will want to watch this one if you are considering adding a tour pack to your Street Glide, Road Glide or Electra Glide Standard. Get all the facts and make sure to watch until the end as I show a solution to have ONE key for the ignition, saddlebags and tour pack even if you go aftermarket. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing to the channel. Ride Safe and enjoy. Rick
A very well done run down of what a person is looking at for an install. I almost always try to go OEM on most products. That said, the cost difference between Hog Workz tour pack vs OEM is huge! Another very helpful video Rick. Keep up the great work. Eric
Thanks for watching Paul. I had never seen anyone put out the info on changing out the lock so I felt it would be good to share with the viewers. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍✌️👊
I have purchased 4 TourPak in the last 5 years. For 3 different bikes. The costs you list for Harley are way off. I purchased all 3 bikes new, and as part of my new bike purchase the four point docking hardware was free. With Harley the mounting plate is part of the TourPak so no need for a purchase. Your statement in this video about Harley not having a mounting was incorrect. I don't think I have paid over $1150 for any of my TourPaks. I have tried the Hogworks and Amazon Specials and didn't like the quality. The Amazon Tour-Pak flexed to much and the seal wasn't air. When it rained my stuff got wet. While traveling down the highway with a friend if I hit bump my friend said the could see the lid move and they were worried about it popping open. As for the Hogworks their docking hardware didn't work with my four point docking hardware, I still had to use Harley. The latching system on Hogworks seemed cheap. From my experience of actually physically working with each style of TourPak the Harley is the better buy.
Thanks for watching and commenting. As far as the HD pricing...those were taken directly from the Harley Davidson parts and accessory catalog at the time the video was produced. I'm sure if you purchased items at the time you bought a bike, the dealer discounts or throws items into the deal to get the sale. I agree with you on the Amazon versions of tour packs as to the potential lower quality. I have 2 Hogworkz tour packs. The ABS material is the same thickness and same quality spec as HD...but lower price compared to list price as described in the video. The point of the video was to share info so others can make an informed decision if they are in the market after purchasing a bike for a tour pack. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Oem will always be best. 2nd is really up to the rider and budget etc. I've been rocking amazon tourpack with harley hardware and haven't had any problems. ✌🏾
Like many people at one stage I thought that these looked silly, then I made more mature decisions and now want one badly! 😂 For touring (inc carrying camera gear, drones etc) they’re a game changer! Great job, Rick! ✌️
The tour pack is a nice addition to the bike. Now I need to build a wall storage rack for when I'm not using it...future video to come...lol. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍👊✌️

The prices of these tour packs are crazy. I have the Harley king tour pack on my bike now. When I get my next bike I plan to get another king tour pack but I will plan to take out my old felt liner to save a few bucks and put it in my new king tour pack.
I got the HD chopped tour pack and hardware, just because I had rewards cash , it does not have the reinforcement plate from HD. I went to a scrapyard and bought an eighth inch aluminum plate for $5. Drilled the holes and trimmed to fit. Dealer threw in the HD matching lock.
Man this is one outstanding video. You helped me do my homework on this item for real. Super helpful! I just bought OEM hinges for tourpack and I might go with el cheapo option but since my bike is black I woudnt have to pay for extra color option. I would love to get OEM but I now think HogWorks or AdvantBlack might be an option for me. Great job my friend!
if you just need black, go for the amazon one. i have used them numerous times on my bikes and buddy's bikes. had them for 10 years with no issues. the only thing is i went with the harley latches as the chinese ones can be a little sketchy at times
My personal opinion is pick Harleys tour pack ONLY if you have a CVO. I say this because for these, Harley is not only a perfect color match but also have painted latches and hinges that also match. For standards or specials, either Advanblack or Hogworkz offer a really good quality pack and paint is also great!
Great point Mark. I appreciate your input on the topic. If you are a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed, I'd be honored if you would consider doing so. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍

Thanks James for watching and commenting. I can't comment on Amazon tour pack quality as I have never owned one. From my perspective, I like that I can speak with someone at Hogworkz and they are painted and assembled in Michigan. Right now Hogworkz just kicked off their Black Friday Sale. If you us code TURKEY at check out, you save 10% on your entire order plus you get a FREE @hogworkz shirt. I have several Hogworkz products on my bikes from lighting to color matched items...all perfect and backed by the company based in the USA. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
You can get rid of the 450.00 for matched paint on the Amazon unit. I just bought an Amazon tour pack, color matched "wicked Red" for just over 350.00.
Thanks Robert for watching and commenting. That is a good tip. If you are already a subscriber thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

I also have an Advanblack tour pack. The Hogworkz and Advanblack are comparable. I like the Hogworkz a bit better because it is painted in Michigan vs many of Advanblack are painted in Asia...or at least that was the case a few years ago. Thanks Teoy for watching and commenting. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
If you have the original antenna on the bike, the antenna will press against the tour pack. In my case, I have my antenna hidden. @MightyMick88 I have never changed bars on any of the three bikes i currently have or 5 Harley Touring bikes I've owned over the years. I'm 5'10" and have always felt comfortable with the stock bars.
The Amazon tour packs are just as good as Harley or any other brand. Especially if you go with vivid black. Just like almost anything else, you are simply paying a higher price for the name and hype of a better product but in the end it's all ABS plastic.
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have a Vivid Black bike or don't care about matching...the Amazon route can be a good way to go. As I layed out in the video, the color match (other than Vivid Black) is the intention of the comparisons. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
ridiculous! i bout the whole setup on E bay for about 120$ and color mached it for a 100$ . your obviously selling the idea( at least) that you need high price shit and can't do it yourself. but for some reason thats the idea of most modern bikers. my 90 lb pitbull rides in the spot where the tourpack goes. tell me where i can buy that setup. no i had to build that chariot for her, which also cost about 150? ish. you can only have individualism if you buy mass produced bolt on shit. oh and get a tat of barbed wire.
