Just because it is a small monkey doesn’t mean it is a baby. That is not a baby, it’s a juvenile that should be foraging and walking on its own legs. That is all this mom wants.

In order to be labeled a “juvenile”, the infant monkey must be a year old (12 months). This baby is not twelve months old. Not even close.
@@wildflower5554Doesn’t matter how old it is, it’s more than capable of traveling on its own. Looks like it’s lost and trying to find protection from other females. If he/she doesn’t find mom soon, it’s going to get hurt.
@@Kay7kay4 the baby she has is a couple months old. She was pregnant for 5.5 months. For that bandy to be under a year old she would have had to get pregnant right after its birth . So at the very least the brat is 11 months old. It can walk and eat. Needs to grow up. Only way it will survive cause mom has a baby.

This looks like Draya, which if true the matriarch mum Daisy didn't start weaning her baby early, and didn't discipline Draya at all while she was growing up. Now that the mum has started to cut off milk bar access, Draya becomes an insufferable brat and even forcing other mums to give her milk. Weaning this one will not be easy.

A woman argued with me just recently in the comments that baby monkeys aren’t born like they are that they learn it. Even though I agree with her to a point, I do believe that the babies are born with aggression in them and when they can’t get what they want straight away then they show their anger.

I agree. Whatever it is that you have to do to keep him away (violent measures will have to be used), do so at any cost. If they can't make it, it is not the mother's fault as she teaches them, or her offspring, to swim, climb a tree, forage, etc. If he or her offspring was or did not pay attention during the process, it by no means the fault of the mother. Her job is to have them teach them how to survive, makes sure they are in a healthy or somewhat environment, no how to feed themnselves and that is all that she can do.

It's old enough just will have to try on its own
These conversations are so redundant and the problem still exist. So why doesn't someone (human or monkey) do something about it? Florida is overrun by the macques and drastic measures (which will probably result in death) because they are attacking/snatching bags from women (human) in order to get food. Putting them on a separate island in Florida is not enough. They are somehow finding their ways into neighbnoorhoods, towns, etc., because they are looking for food. The biggest mistake is having them come to the U.S. because they breed like crazy so whatever it is that they do to stop a population explosion or to reduce it will eventually be applied in Florida or wherever there is a tropical climate in the U.S. And you thought that migrants (human) were a problem.

This one is going to be a handful, he is clingy, lazy and presumptious latching on to other moms like his god-given right and depriving the legitimate newborn who needs more care from its mom. The baby male monkeys seem to be the worse when it comes to behavior and becoming independent. They just want to leach off their mother and it is something that should not be tolerated especially when they reach the age of four and a half or five months. No mother should tolerate this monkey.

Its her own mom but unfortunately she has a new baby. The problem is she wasn't weaned early. That is baby Draya and mom Daisy. Idk the name of its new baby.

Yes the Mother's are all they know but it's like our Children when they are 18 teen they head out on their own
Some do and others stay behind to help their parents in their old age. My mother didn't want me to leave especially when I got engaged. Fortunately, I never married but thankfully I was not that much of a burden to them because I proved, without realizing it, that I was of great use to the both of them and they loved me enough to tolerate me ( they especially needed my help in their old age because it was very difficult for them).

Poor Daisy, first she had to deal with my most hated monkey Dito with his constant disgusting ways of licking staring and tantrum throwing, and now she has another one throwing hissy fits. I hope she controls Draya better than she did Dito. Such a brat.

Well, the little snot got its own way to a point, it’s on the mother’s back and the baby had to crawl over it to get on properly although it could have hung onto mums stomach. They really are a feisty lot, no other baby on the planet does what they do, can you imagine what would happen if a lion cub wouldn’t obey its mother concerning weaning and kept nagging and screaming to get what it wants? It would be dead instantly, no, they are born to behave like that and mum has to teach them survive in the world they live in and to be fighters for when predators and warring , aggressive other colonies who will attack and kill, sometimes even in their own colony, they are a very jealous animal

She has a mom. This is Draya, her mom is Daisy (I think) who is very much alive.

That’s not true, many females have sex while their newborn is still nursing and clinging onto them while “reproducing.” One female macaque did it the same day she gave birth while her newborn was clutching onto her for dear life clueless.
She’s not being weaned, that is not her mother. This is Draya, her mom is Daisy. She can’t find her mom and is scared trying to cling to other moms.
Think mother in heat, and left baby for a bit. Nothing to do with food. Just scared and looking for momma.

It’s like a 5 year old. They still need the mother. They may not need to breast feed but they still need connection. Even humans are this way.
Is that why so many people that are between 25 - 50 years old and still living with their parents/ parent ,? What the f ever, it’s called enabling them and it’s way past due for them to grow the f up and start being adult and get a job and or have two jobs, whatever it takes. The parents/parent had to do it and it was harder back then. Instead they just want to be lazy lazy lazy and get everything they want !
