    Fabulous E.J.😄🙌A new floor will be nice! And you have a big job to move all the orchids off the floor, but it will give you a great opportunity to check all the plants too

      It is indeed, but I do look forward to it! And a good time to clean the greenhouse before the new growing season starts! :D Also I do not have to wait weeks before the plants can go back. That's a huge relieve.

    Thank you for the update Eelke. The new flooring sounds exciting. Lots of extra work in the short term, but I'm sure a relief in the end. Santa Barbara is beautiful, also the Angraecum. I brought 2 Angraecums: rutenbergianum and the magdalenae, into my collection this fall. I saw new roots and seized the day to transition to pumice. I was a little apprehensive because spring time being the best time, don't like being repotted etc, etc, etc. But both have new leaves and new roots coming along super nicely. 👍👍😃 About the future upcoming transitioning video, I will send you a quick email about my progress with your method. All good of course! Thank you Eelke! 🙏🤗❤

      I was the same about my Angraecum, but it just took off LOL.. I didn't expected that for sure. But it loves the setup. I think mine would do well with a bit bigger pot, but that has to wait until I have time again :P ... And maybe a bit better, warmer weather would be better too. I did reply your email! I took me a bit longer then I wanted... I LOVED it! :D

    That will be exciting to follow. I have noticed tiles dont lay nice for long here in the Netherlands. Our garden is also "jumpy" and sinking too. But that is what it is.
    I got a piece of that Maxilaria some years ago, but I really didn't do it good for me, and is now gone with the wind. It look like you have better luck😊

    • @TheOrchidSaGa
      @TheOrchidSaGa  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes it is horrible. We did go with a more cheap floor, but we should have known better! So here we go again LOL... But I am so happy that it is coming soon! It should make this work so much better and make it so much easier and better looking.
      A such a shame it didn't make it! I hope this one will keep on growing. It finally does start to go for it... finally,... it did take some time! I thought I would lose it too... One day I hope it will start to bloom.

    I'm happy to see the big Maxi is still around (I still think it's the Sanguinea) My yellow Variabilis should be starting with buds very soon. Good luck with the new floor and I really hope they can pour it in one day 😎(worked in construction, what they say isn't always what's going to happen in the time promised 😁

      I hope it will bloom some day! ... But first we need those roots! :D And I do hope they will finish that floor on Wednesday, but we will see... I should have gotten that floor from the start, would have been so much easier.

    Lots of work ahead for you, but it will be so worth it to have a new floor. Hopefully your Phalaenopsis and other 🌱 hanging on the wall won't be damaged 🤞. It does make me worried. Maybe some sorts of cover ( linen sheets, maybe ? ) to protect them from colder temps during renovations?Idn! 🤷‍♀️ ,just a thought 😊.
    Enjoyed the beautiful blooms!👏💚💛🧡. Thank you for sharing, Eelke! 🙌😁

      I agree, it's a bit of a concern to me as well. But first off all I do have ordered plants while have colder weather and they did fine. Not freezing cold! ... So I hope we will have a bit of sun during the day when they will start digging and making room for the new floor. In the evening and night I will have my heaters back on! ... So I think we will be fine... I hope so LOL.. And thank you so much! :D

    Wow, Sta Barbara Sunset looks amazing. It is a very successful hybrid, even more striking than anceps, in my opinion. Mine is also growing a spike and the tip is already separating but still early to see the buds.
    Also I want to tell you that I already received the pumice bags. Thank you so much for your help on this matter ❤❤❤

    • @TheOrchidSaGa
      @TheOrchidSaGa  9 месяцев назад +1

      I agree 100%, it's so beautiful! And indeed even more beautiful than the Anceps. So mine is a little ahead of yours. I do have now four blooms. And I am happy the pumice did arrive! Does it look like you hoped it did? I love it, it's such a wonderful media. Do you going to use it for some orchids too?

    • @FernandaNascimentoOrchids
      @FernandaNascimentoOrchids 9 месяцев назад

      @@TheOrchidSaGa Yes, the pumice is exactly what I was hoping for and it will be very useful for orchids because I am using more and more inert potting mixes, as much as I can. I do not grow hidroponically but I like to water my pots by soaking them for a few minutes. That way, organic materials decompose very fast. I am no longer using bark which I am replacing presently with coconut chips and I also use aquarium stones and lava rock. Pumice will be a great addition, especially with Cattleyas.

      Thank you so much! I do have a few video's on that, but I do think this is one of the most important ones because most people do really know how to winter rest these plants because of the set up. Maybe this helps? :D ruclips.net/video/pw7sKz0NQZk/видео.html

    That Laelia anceps looks to be petaloid (lip mimicking the petals), which is a shame because the lip of the anceps is quite beautiful and this trait diminishes how the bloom should look.

    • @TheOrchidSaGa
      @TheOrchidSaGa  9 месяцев назад

      Yes you are right! I would prefer this as well... So sad, maybe I will find a better looking one someday. The one I have is ok, but not as beautiful as they can be... I had no idea when I bought it...

      @@TheOrchidSaGa you would think they would have mentioned that since that plant generally demands a higher price than the normal (which I don't understand because it isn't as nice)
