I'm happy to see that this game is finally getting some of the love it deserved. I've loved it from day 1 even the multi-player! I hope it gets a remaster or something but it still looks great. It has all of my favorite Arkham boss fights
It's fun and also the easiest way to beat slade. You need about 2 buttons attack and counter unless you fail to close the distance and he uses his claw attack. That is also why it is confusing to call slade the best boss fight in the series when his only other move is a copy of Rash Al Ghuls boss.
Imagine not playing Origins on the 360, how it's meant to be played But next time you force your friends to play a game, you should do Origins' online mode. It's really underrated.
I think it's harder to understand the hate the game got when looking at it now. At the time people were unsure about it because it was made by a different company, the big voices weren't returning. What it did have in hype was the idea of a brand new story giving the background villains the spotlight. Like of you look at the marketing its practically entirely deathstroke and black mask with the other assassins joining in. Then people were immediatly disappointed when it just turned into "Batman vs Joker" for the third game in a row even just after we'd seen him die in city. Like even most of the hyped up assassins just become minor side mission villains. Like deadshot has even less of a role than he did in city. Deathstroke is beaten completely in act 1. Black mask becomes a side mission villain in the most standard "collect em all" side mission. I'm pretty sure shiva is completely optional. The game literally turns from "hey look how cool and deep batman's rogue gallery is" to "hey look, jokers back, and banes helping him, none of the others are important at all" Like even in city atleast the side mission characters had their side missions spread throughout the game so it felt they were sort of constant. And the main villains were all necessary meetings with batman for the plot. In origins it basically feels like "oh hey you need to find penguin but just by coincidence 2 of the 8 assassins are there so you fight them. Then the rest of the side villains just say "hey cime fight me over here when you get time or if you can't be bothered to go find black mask who is then immediatly revealed to be the joker" Not only that but the game was pretty buggy at launch and it felt like they'd just copied and pasted arkham city's map and added a bit more city which was mainly just skyscrapers. People only really started to appreciate it after arkham knight came out and were annoyed at them failing to do things that origins had done brilliantly such as boss battles.
? City is literally better then Asylum. They could have made something different with the story, instead they opted to do Jocker as the villain again which was lame and some bosses were really badly designed gameplay wise. I am excluding the absurd amount of bugs the game had and the technologically advanced gadgets Bruce should not even have because this is supposed to be way in the past.
The story was fine, everyone hated on origins for one reason and one reason alone - bugs and glitches on release. They were fixed but the damage was already done and people already decided that they dislike it. Asylum was far from great story wise my friend and origins is not worse than Asylum for sure, city is universally ageeed to have the best story wise.
16:30 this is the hardest I've ever laughed at the "batman never kills" joke because he just **NON-LETHALY** throws a guy from the top of a building into a fucking christmas tree
When you mentioned beating Asylum on hard difficulty, I was brought back to a memory I suppressed of fighting Ivy in Asylum on hard (or maybe it was new game plus, same difference). THAT is a boss fight I will NEVER want to endure again. Also, I agree, this game is super fun and gets more hate than it deserves. The music, the cutscenes, the voice acting, everything is great though it is a little buggy. Troy Baker also did amazing as the voice for the Joker.
Its funny that the people that criticize games, don't actually have the patience to actually play the games and are terrible at the game. Word of advice, don't listen to critics. Just play a game and judge for yourself
Great video, and great game. The reason people don't like it is that it does things worse that the previous game handled better. The grappling line is more finicky to where you can land it, for example, and they really went over the top with the Riddler collectibles starting in this one. Looking forward to when/if you get around to Metro 2033 Redux, a.k.a. Metro Origins.
I absolutely love origins. It is my favourite batman game ever and people give it flak for being made by WB montriel even tho most of the team were rocksteady people anyway. This game had MUCH better combat then the 2 before it and the design of the batsuit is my favourite. This game is awesome and deserves recognition as an amazing entry to the arkham series
Everyone hated this game because it didn’t reprise the classic voice actors. People got butthurt that Kevin conroy and mark hamill wasn’t in the game so all the 10-12 year olds immediately said “this game is shit” I actually really enjoyed R.C Smith’s performance in this game. It was something different, and he was able to tell a story of a young, ruthless, and sometimes careless Batman.

It says alot about the series when the "Worst" game is still really good. Not many series pull off all 3 main line games being great, And the spin-off/side story being good. Even at its worst Arkham Origins is fun
I honestly think this game is awesome, it’s one of my favorites, and also some of the most fun I’ve had playing a game. The only problem I have with it is that’s it’s very glitchy, and you have to be careful to not accomplish too much in the game or everything crashes and glitches out. When I first got it it would erase my data every time I finished the game. I got it again a few years later and it was better, it didn’t erase my game, but gadgets kept disappearing after I finished the new game plus, that’s what I mean by ya can’t accomplish too much or the game kinda has a seizure. And yeah watching this, it’s somehow even more glitchy on pc, it never did any of this stuff when I played it on the Xbox 360.
1:08 Finally someone that points it out ! Roger Craig Smith, at least for me, is known to voice Sonic the Hedgehog and there he is, voicing out of all fictionnal characters, *Batman*
Absolutely loved this game, just found it to be so much fun! Was very surprised after people hated on it. Only minor gripe was the Deathstroke boss fight set the bar so high for the rest of them, but it didn't ruin the game or anything. Meaning to revisit it & play through it again.
I liked this one a lot, would love to play a remastered version. It was different enough with its aesthetic & storytelling that it felt unique in the series. Love the wintertime Gotham and having the run of the city. It clearly inspired some of what Rocksteady did with Arkham Knight too ironically, including the style of the armored batsuit.
i re-played every arkham game in these past few months and origins is definitely not the worst one. i liked seeing batman being more intense and aggressive and the soundtrack suited very well to that. i also had great preformance on origins while having everything maxed so idk about the problems many others are having on pc
I got this game on Wii U in 2020. I couldn’t find the DVD so I got it for PS3 on Christmas 2022. It was the collectors edition. As soon as I typed the codes for all DLCs, which are available until October 2023, it said they aren’t available no more. One month ago I tried to get all the DLCs via code and guess what, it worked. I was so hyped for the Injustice skin, the new challenge maps and the Mr Freeze story. This game was/is really unique in its own way. Love this game
This game was my childhood bro !!! I hated that deathstroke fight because it was so hard when I was young but glad it’s still getting the recognition it deserves
Played this for the first time the other day. It's a very good game. The combat is excellent, the story is solid and the voice performances are great. The art direction is solid as well. Bane particularly is just done fantastically. That being said, the world feels a bit empty (especially compared to Arkham city which is packed with Easter eggs) and the boss design isn't quite up to snuff. Solid 8.5/10 game IMO.
19:50 I'm sure there was a whole fight sequence but I love how it's been edited to where it looks like he literally just jumped over him and then kicked him in the face after he spent like so long monologuing about how it would be to hits one of him punching Batman and then Batman hitting 50,000 volts. Then Batman proceeded to leap over him and knock him out in a single hit
This game desperately needs a remaster, because there’s so much bugs lt’s also the Arkham Game that I enjoyed and had fun playing. I think it’s what Arkham Knight was missing and this was a game that came out 2 years before it. It had an awesome soundtrack, filled with boss battles and made Bane smart instead of just a dumb brute and had the best DLC I’ve ever seen. I think the only thing it could’ve worked on was the side missions and that way could’ve introduced more villains like Scarecrow and Poison Ivy
In my oppinion cause i LOVE all 4 Arkham games Asylum had the best Atmosphere City perfected the Gameplay Origins had the best Boss fights Knight the best story
Arkham Origin is still my favorite game of the series. It may not have been as revolutionary at the time as the main games, but personally I like everything about the game: the Christmas setting, the enemies and the story itself. The Origin Joker is probably my favorite version of the character. And even today the game looks pretty good and runs pretty well even on slow PCs (no idea how you managed to have any bugs. I played the game on a 4 year old mid-range laptop on high settings). I think it's such a shame how everything good is only appreciated after it has been successfully "cancelled". the same with Andrew Garfield's Spiderman. Back then you almost got beaten up if you said that you thought the Amazing Spiderman films were pretty good despite some flaws and today after NWH everyone has suddenly always loved Garfield's Spiderman
I bought the game on sale a few years ago, played for like 10 minutes and stopped until I started playing a few days ago. It's definitely an enjoyable experience, except the few times I experience bugs (like seeing knocked out enemies jump in the air, and one time there was no sound except doors opening and the menu, until I restarted the game).
I just finished this game for the first time last week. I have a gaming laptop that's a few years old and I had no problem running it. Game was pretty good, not perfect or revolutionary but defiantly enjoyable. I didn't have nearly as many issues as you did. It maybe froze a few times throughout all of the time I played it

@@namelessfaceinthecrowd2459 Joker in knight was cool meanwhile in origins he was taking over as the villain and that sucks
@@hydrocritical2268 fair enough. Would have been nice to have a main villain that wasnt joker just once. But Ill also admit his portrayal in origins was really well done . Knight I was just thinking "oh come on hes dead let someone else take the spotlight !"
@@namelessfaceinthecrowd2459 Joker didn’t take the spotlight though. That was a lie people made just to hate on the game. He wasn’t a villain but just your subconscious. Arkham Knight overshadowed Scarecrow and that’s all. I also don’t like Joker in origins. The voice is off. But I love Batman.
I think one thing that really catches my interest is that Arkham Origins which is the first game timeline wise in the story is meant to happen on Christmas Eve-Christmas Morning, and Arkham Knight the last game on the time line (at least playing as Batman, Apparently the Suicide Squad game happens in the same universe) happens on Halloween, I feel like it just adds a bit more pop to all of the games and these two in particulars
This one was always my favorite in the series. I love a good origin story. Awesome video by the way.
Man I did this on "I am the Night" difficulty thrice.
First time for the trophy
Second for the hat trick
Then the third to make it a thematic upload series on my own RUclips channel in December and the Cold Cold Heart DLC for Christmas and New Years as they take place during those two holidays.
He releases this video literally one day after I finished Arkham Origins on my Steam Deck and had the same opinion. It’s just as good as the other Arkham games.
Who are you why you a steam deck already
What's your Proton configuration for this game?
@@notimportant3033 idk mate I bought it and it was ready to play in Steam. It has its flaws when it comes to optimization but other than that it worked right of the box. I think it was 7.0 tho not Experimental
I loved origins. He’s so freaking brutal in this game. Fun gadgets and a good story. Good voice acting too.
Killer Croc: Thought I caught your scent.
Batman: I thought I caught yours.

"I'm about to come down there and break all your physics" is the most threatening thing I've ever heard 🤣🤣
literally my favorite game in the arkham series i remember being mad that they never brought it into the trilogy such a good game
“Brought it into the trilogy”?
If you mean canon to the other games, it is. Arkham Knight is filled with references and easter eggs to Origins
Killer Croc just straight-up hit his head on the wall so hard he turned into a fucking Nightkin and made Batman go deaf XD
Love this man for bringing back memories of some of the JEWELS
I'm happy to see that this game is finally getting some of the love it deserved. I've loved it from day 1 even the multi-player! I hope it gets a remaster or something but it still looks great. It has all of my favorite Arkham boss fights
Yes
The story was actually my favourite out of ALL of them.
This game was the most cinematic of the 4, i love the style of the cutscenes
People always forget you can just spam attack, counter, stun, combo, roll and vault in WB games especially in this one
You just basically explained the combat of the game.
There's nothing wrong with it if it's fun like in the Arkham games.
It's fun and also the easiest way to beat slade. You need about 2 buttons attack and counter unless you fail to close the distance and he uses his claw attack. That is also why it is confusing to call slade the best boss fight in the series when his only other move is a copy of Rash Al Ghuls boss.
9:38 Batman is fighting a holographic crocodile man
Imagine not playing Origins on the 360, how it's meant to be played
But next time you force your friends to play a game, you should do Origins' online mode. It's really underrated.
the servers are gone for it you cant anymore
You can play the 360 version on Series X because its backwards compatible
Running around as bane was top tier
This game is backwards compatible, so you can still play it on Series or One consoles.
Games should not be created for crappy consoles. If they want to have a successful game, it has to be developed primarily on PC.
Origins is amazing, completely changed my mind.
Its as a nice as Arkham City for me.
Playing Deathstroke is a bonus
Man I'd kill to see another one of these with mad max
He did that
@@ethanschend6638 I know but I'd be fun if he did another video on it
This was my first ever batman game and it holds a special place in my heart and this is the reason why it's my favorite
Please continue this game! It’s so underrated. Such an amazing game that needs to get remastered. Also your commentary is hilarious lol
The game literally turns from "hey look how cool and deep batman's rogue gallery is" to "hey look, jokers back, and banes helping him, none of the others are important at all"
Like even in city atleast the side mission characters had their side missions spread throughout the game so it felt they were sort of constant. And the main villains were all necessary meetings with batman for the plot.
In origins it basically feels like "oh hey you need to find penguin but just by coincidence 2 of the 8 assassins are there so you fight them. Then the rest of the side villains just say "hey cime fight me over here when you get time or if you can't be bothered to go find black mask who is then immediatly revealed to be the joker"
Not only that but the game was pretty buggy at launch and it felt like they'd just copied and pasted arkham city's map and added a bit more city which was mainly just skyscrapers.
People only really started to appreciate it after arkham knight came out and were annoyed at them failing to do things that origins had done brilliantly such as boss battles.
It is my second most played Arkham game, City is my most played one.'
Update: My most played Arkham is Knight now.
The game wasn't bad at all. The story had some definitive weakpoints, but that could be said for every game post Asylum.
Best Arkham game, idgaf what anyone says
16:30 this is the hardest I've ever laughed at the "batman never kills" joke because he just **NON-LETHALY** throws a guy from the top of a building into a fucking christmas tree
This was honestly one of my favorite batman, loved the boss battles
When you mentioned beating Asylum on hard difficulty, I was brought back to a memory I suppressed of fighting Ivy in Asylum on hard (or maybe it was new game plus, same difference). THAT is a boss fight I will NEVER want to endure again. Also, I agree, this game is super fun and gets more hate than it deserves. The music, the cutscenes, the voice acting, everything is great though it is a little buggy. Troy Baker also did amazing as the voice for the Joker.
The multiplayer on the PS3 was actually surprisingly fun!!! I loved it! It literally had gears of war gameplay in a Batman Arkham game 😅
"I don't wanna die!"
"Well ya should've thought about that twice before dying."
Arkham Origins had the best music, boss fights, characters and story imo Batman Joker and definitely Bane were written so well here.
Best Arkham Game in my opinion
Everyone hated this game because it didn’t reprise the classic voice actors. People got butthurt that Kevin conroy and mark hamill wasn’t in the game so all the 10-12 year olds immediately said “this game is shit” I actually really enjoyed R.C Smith’s performance in this game. It was something different, and he was able to tell a story of a young, ruthless, and sometimes careless Batman.
i actually have no idea why he has so many bugs etc. i never had any problems apart from low fps with the one physics setting
Pc version is always worse lol
Probably graphics card?
@@AngelA-mk5ty i dont think he has a bad one. i dont see any problem there, even if he doesnt have updated drivers since its not a new game. so it shouldnt need the newest drivers. i've managed to play this on my *old* pc with a GT 330. so i think that is not a problem
@@coreymckee4844 ah yes. having unlimited graphics basically because a pc has usually more power and can usually get more easily, can bring more problems yes. but at least you dont have 30 fps with worse graphics then any other person on the planet and HAVE to play on controller even if you dont want to.
Yeah, I had absolutely no problems while playing this. I guess it just comes down to luck.
1:12 love a Delsin Rowe cameo :) 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Man the boss fights in this game gave me a hard time but boy they were fun and so cinematic, origins truly did have the best boss fights
first time watching this guy and can already tell that he is actually being himself dude is crazy lmao funny asf I love the genuine energy in this video.
Should scope out his 'Playing X as a psychopath' playlist, he is hilarious in every single one.
this game served its purpose, it allowed arkham knight to have the best amount of content within a timely manner. i really enjoyed it despite not being revolutionary, it had the best bosses in the whole franchise and it isnt even close. the way the used the arkham city map and still managed to make it completely different was insane
Ur wrong u act like Arkham city bosses not better and forgot mr freeze being the best most creative fight and. The map on orgins is fucking terrible
It says alot about the series when the "Worst" game is still really good.
Not many series pull off all 3 main line games being great, And the spin-off/side story being good. Even at its worst Arkham Origins is fun
Still to this day one of my all time favourite games, great mix of puzzle, combat and rpg
This was the FIRST Arkham game I ever played and I still love it!
I never experienced a bug with that game, I played it on PS3 and it was running smoothly all the time
He’s playing on pc I think
"Cold cold heart" DLC is the best Batman game ever
1:08 Finally someone that points it out ! Roger Craig Smith, at least for me, is known to voice Sonic the Hedgehog and there he is, voicing out of all fictionnal characters, *Batman*
Absolutely loved this game, just found it to be so much fun! Was very surprised after people hated on it. Only minor gripe was the Deathstroke boss fight set the bar so high for the rest of them, but it didn't ruin the game or anything. Meaning to revisit it & play through it again.
Glad to know the studio intros didn’t just have crackly audio for me
And the incredibly lags. Thought it was just my computer.
“you know who u really pissed off… VENT MAN”😂😂
I got this game on Wii U in 2020.
It will never happen, but I hope one day it gets some kind of remaster/re-release.
This game was my childhood bro !!! I hated that deathstroke fight because it was so hard when I was young but glad it’s still getting the recognition it deserves
I just did cheap scorpion. Claw, slam, knuckle and toe jam. Beat him before he went donkey kong
Then Batman proceeded to leap over him and knock him out in a single hit
actually, that's not edited down. that's literally the fight haha
@@Kevduit even better!! Phenomenal!!! Good show old chap
This game was made by WB Montreal... Splash Damage had very little to do with the game except multiplayer aspects...
Origins is great and i will never understand people that say it's the worst especially when the absolute dumpster fire known as Knight exists
Origins dethroned Asylum as my preferred favorite. I loved it when it came out.
In my oppinion cause i LOVE all 4 Arkham games
Asylum had the best Atmosphere
City perfected the Gameplay
Origins had the best Boss fights
Knight the best story
Honestly it was my favorite out of the Arkham games. I remember playing as Deathstroke and it was honestly so much fun
The funniest thing is Origins worked perfectly fine on my PC that had parts from 2009. 40 fps max, but it was working
“I’m not scared of your little static! I wear socks too!” 😂
I bought the game on sale a few years ago, played for like 10 minutes and stopped until I started playing a few days ago. It's definitely an enjoyable experience, except the few times I experience bugs (like seeing knocked out enemies jump in the air, and one time there was no sound except doors opening and the menu, until I restarted the game).
Your sarcasm has provided me with much entertainment, human. -👽
“Is a banal a kind of fruit?” Lol.
I just finished this game for the first time last week. I have a gaming laptop that's a few years old and I had no problem running it. Game was pretty good, not perfect or revolutionary but defiantly enjoyable. I didn't have nearly as many issues as you did. It maybe froze a few times throughout all of the time I played it
Hope you make another one continuing the game as I'm enjoying your comedy here
Origins was so underrated
My favorite arkham game of all time
13:12 “VENTMAN👹👹👹”-“What the heck😧😧😧”
Goddamnit kev. I’m late yet again for a game that is a childhood classic and my first Arkham game. It was just amazing in every way. I’m just gonna subscribe and turn on notifications so I can see your next childhood banger
when i first played this game the difference between the actual game and the cutscenes was really jarring but after a while i got used to it
"Wait what...did Batman just break his ankle?!" Omfg 😂😂😂
Origins is my favorite Batman game ever I love it with all my heart Iv completed Atleast 10 times and I’m so happy people are giving the game another shot
Loved origins, played it in the evenings after work over xmass and it was snowing outside. Talk about immersive.
