MaryLou. I just got a cricut and am having trouble with the cutting. Its cutting but its also cutting on to the grip thing lol idont know what to call it . Any tips on how to fix that?? im a newbie so any advice would be great thanks
There is usually a light cut into the mat with almost any material, but it shouldn't be deep and should not make removal from the mat difficult. If it is cutting very deeply it is cutting with too much pressure. You can go into the material screen (when you're in the cut section of Design Space) and lessen the pressure for any material. Click on the material and decrease the pressure in increments of 5. Do a small test cut at each level until it cuts the way you would like. Good luck. Don't give up. There is always a learning curve with any new crafting tool or device, but taking the time to figure it out is worth the trouble.
First, check to make sure you have it set for the correct material. It could also be that you have debris collected inside the blade housing and it isn't allowing the blade to move up and down as it should. That requires a new housing. (around $40) A call to Cricut Customer service (877-727-4288 in the US) may also help. Be patient, you'll be on hold for a while, but it is worth it to get the machine working.
I have a question I just bought my maker 3 and unboxed it set in up came with a fine blade tried doing the test cut during setup the blade barely scratch the surface of the smart removable vinyl. I tried increasing pressure still nothing . Any idea what's going on?
The only time I have had that happen was when I hadn't gone through all of the loading steps and the load arrow was not blinking. If the arrow blinks, but it won't load, that sounds like an issue that would require a call to Cricut costumer service.
I had a problem with that and the tech guy at Cricut said to replace the housing that holds the cutting blade. It worked! Tiny bits of paper had built up in the housing over time and caused the blade to stick and not work properly. If your machine is still under warrantee Cricut will replace the housing.
Three things I would check: Is the project showing up complete in design space? Is your vinyl or paper positioned on the mat with enough space around the edge? Is the project sized to correctly fit the material you're cutting from? If those are all okay, this may require a call to customer service. This sounds like an issue of the design not being communicated properly to your machine, rather than a cutter problem. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Hi! I was wondering if you could help me possibly with an issue I'm having with my cricut. I was trying to cut HTV for a Christmas project and it was simple really just my sons name with an easy to read font and it wouldn't cut the last 2 letters of his name all the way. I tried it atleast 3 times. I had a new blade and made sure it was in there correctly and it was the correct material selected and I even changed the pressure to more and it wouldn't work. The strange thing is that it cut out a reindeer perfectly, but it wouldn't cut out a name all the way. I had to use a different color of HTV and it worked. Have you ever had this problem? I just found your video, thank you for sharing. I purchased NEW product Premium Vinyl Shimmer (Permanent glitter) and I cannot find this under the materials for cutting. I have used Permanent Vinyl, and my joy will not cut it. what am I doing wrong. HELP. I have no problem with other materials. I am a newbie. Thank you.
I have found that glitter vinyl is always hard to cut. You can go into the materials screen and increase the cut pressure for that one material. They say to increase just 5 increments at a time, but there have been times I've had to increase the pressure 50 more than the set amount. A new blade also helps. You can also set it up for a much heavier material, like heavy acetate , and do an experimental cut with that. An email to Cricut service asking about the new material may help. Good luck!

why my machine get deactivate after connecting Bluetooth and showing that my machine is not in working order it is second hand i buy it from OLX somebody found it from any place and then sell to me
Here are some things to consider: How old is your machine? Is it one that uses a cartridge? If it is you can insert a cartridge and try to connect to design space. You may need to call Cricut customer service ( 877-727-4288) and talk through each problem with them. I know it's frustrating when the machine does not work as it should. Customer service is probably your best bet. Since it is second hand it will not have any warrantee, and you may have to pay for repairs.

Mine won’t go to the cutting setting.. It won’t let me pick the kind of material I’m using ..it won’t let me to my cut screen……maybe it’s a problem with the machine…

Thank you for watching my video. You may have already done these things, but here are some things to try. Make sure all cords are fully connected, especially the one attaching your computer to your cricut machine. Make sure there is no paper stuck under the cutting blade. Make sure the mat is in straight. You may have to pull it out manually if the paper exit button doesn't work. Usually the the button flashes red if something hasn't loaded correctly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your cricut. Be patient. There is a learning curve, but it's worth it.
My Cricut Explore 3 I having problems with setup, when its time to load the test paper so the I could cut the word cricut only the load and unload button flash thats it. So i cant finish the test run

If you are talking about the size percentage of the image, you set that on the design screen (the one with the grid) before you cut. To change that, return to the design screen and make your changes. Don’t buy cricut! Got a new blade replacement and won’t cut properly! Unreal!!! Either cuts to deep or not deep enough depending on project. I have the Cricut maker. Right blade, inserted right, and costing me more money than it’s worth.
So sorry it's not working for you. You have probably looked into this, but have you adjusted the settings based on the materials you are using? That's the only other thing I can think of.
This machine gives a lot of stress to it's users. I work with thin leather and I wish I never spent my money on this crap. A manual cutter is a million time better. This is time consuming, it's slow and 9 times out of time is not working! Many hours on calling customer service, there's issues with the program, with the machine itself, please do not buy it!!

They should be spread along the length of the rod, unless you are cutting something very thick, then they get moved to the side.

Any advice on head sticking. Clean & silicone lube. Works for short term.

my cricut won't let me change the size of my cutting I wanted . It is stuck on 3". Any tips?
With my circuit the size has to be changed in Design Space. Do you use Design Space?

what if the bluetooth isn't connecting
Mine requires a cord to connect my computer to the Cricut. I think the Cricut Joy uses bluetooth, but some machines do not.
