Mokko is the best grandfather. Look how much he has taught Ratty. He knows everything about nature and history and farming and now Ratty does at a young age.
I love Mokko relationsip with Ratty. It is a blessing having such an active grandfather to share so much adventures with and learn from. So much memories for Ratty to treasure.
Yes! The whole time I watched this I kept thinking how in shape Mokko is to hike for so long and still want to stop to gather trees and leaves. Definitely an inspiration to live more healthy and stay active.
No fast food, junk, and natural food, if he were in the states he probably in a nursing home on multiple medication , what a price to pay for money and materialism.
Today I turned 54. If I can stay my course and keep moving, Jamaica is calling me for this hike. Bamboo looks wicked. My favorite part of my day is to catch a Ras Kitchen. mad props.
Greetings from Finland. It's incredible to watch you guys hiking there in Jamaica, whereas we here are living in winter weather (snow and all). Internet is cool to have. Cheers!
Mokko is a living archive of natural knowledge, what a gift to travel along with him! Ratty is growing up so beautifully as well…this is real wealth here. Thanks for sharing Matthew, been a longtime fan and always enjoy the experience of your videos. Love from Ottawa!
He seems motivated to keep up with the adults because he's with them so much, maybe if he had his friends around more, he would want to hang out and play with them instead!
Matthew this was a epic hike. Got a feel of the history of the Maroons and the sacrifices they made during those times. The spring water and natural forest gives the place a majestic feel. Ratty is a trooper for sure. No complaints 😄

Yah man, mokko is a real alpha man, God bless him, and keep him forever young, bless up rottie I see you following his footsteps, you couldn't have picked a better man to follow and look up too!
True- but he's probably fine without them because he doesn't complain. In Nigeria, kids run vast distances on rough terrain in sandals, that's why become such great marathoners!

Epic adventure! I appreciate you taking time with the fungus! As a mushroom enthusiast from Sweden I find it fascinating seeing what the funga is like in an enviroment very different from what I am used to. The red blobs you found at 19:00 aren't fungi though. To me they look like a parasitic plant, probably in the genus Balanophora, or at least in the family Balanophoraceae.
Definitely an epic adventure. I agree, it's interesting to see how the fungi vary in different climates. Happy to hear you enjoyed the content. Bless up 🙌
Hi Mathew I’m so glad to see you Moko and Ratty it’s been a while since I watch you guys thanks as usual for your inspirational videos they really are uplifting and amazing
I thoroughly enjoyed this one Matthew. I used to do those mountain hikes in St Andrew but this trail is new to me. Too bad it was raining but you made it. Mokko was his usual funny self while imparting knowledge of the flora and fauna. Seems like Coppy didn't have time to wait on you guys.😊🏝️🇯🇲
