[ Making Of ] - Spring Herald - 2D Animated Film

- A bit of the process, hopefully it will answer some questions from the comment section of the film. It's my first time compositing using After Effects (some errors can be noticed) and I'm still learning Toon Boom so by no means is my process error-free. It's also my first time doing a process video; I welcome your criticism!
Software used:
Clip Studio Paint for backgrounds
Toon Boom Harmony for animation
After Effects and Premiere for compositing
The next film will be more long-term, over the course of maybe 1.5 to 2 years. Production begins now! See you in a while!

I'm an aspiring artist/animator and I can say that this video helped me a lot to study. Ever since I saw The Spring Herald, I've subscribed and have been enjoying your content.
All I can say is, keep up the good work, and I believe in you. So never give up.
I come back to this video often. For some reason it's a constant reminder of how much I love animation. This making of process was one of the things that made me want to become an artist myself, and it still reminds me of it, two years later.

the fact there isn’t any rough sketchy chicken lines for the rough sketch of the animation really tells that they’re very experienced. I’m jealous and happy for your accomplishments

Science Spoook Same here. I personally don’t think 3D animation is normally as beautiful as 2D animation. I really hope 2D animation comes back into mainstream western animation sometime soon.
Right, like 2D has just a different feel to it than 3D.
It was probably one of the most amazing animations I’ve ever seen. So smooth and the colors compliment each other so well. And don’t even get me started on the art style. Everything about all of it was perfect

Hello! This past year I've been doing client work, and am working on Netflix's Castlevania at the moment. I'm taking a break from Calarts this year due to covid, so my next student film will mostly likely be done mid-2022. Thanks a bunch for your support!

Wow, I really enjoyed Spring Herald but this making of segment made me appreciate it even more! Awesome job on this film and thank you for inspiring me to work on my own film. The parallax camera was the most interesting to me because it seems like the hardest to pull off but you did it with ease. It looks stunning! Subscribed and can't wait to see more. :)
