Interesting. Brazilian natives the Tupi-Guarani have a dragon in their mitology called "Caramuru" that was associated with the sea, either the angry of the oceans as their calm times. Curious that those 2 folks doesn't seem to have any contact in history (prior to 1500 CE).
I think it is originated with the story of China's rivers (1 of them is yellow river) about dragons watching humans suffer by the drought and asking the Emperor for rain and yet even when the dragons give the message to the Emperor, he ignores them til they get tired and illegaly draw the water out of the sea to pour out rain onto the land, which makes the people happy and then a guard/ god (I forget) of the water reports these dragons wrong doing thus punish them by the Emperor for each dragons to each mountains, which later turns them into wellspring of fountain rivers for another blessings or so as the story is focuses on the dragons as helping the humans.

@@camtuck Yeah no. Thats a mutant lotad with 6 legs. Kappas are first of Japanese Folklore, which wouldnt make much sense in something that looks more Chinese. At the same time, Kappas are more or less Imps / Human like creatures. Lombre would make more sense for that claim. Now that I think of it... It wouldnt make much sense for a Lotad or a Lombre to be there either.. It too is japanese.
I'd pay any amount of money for this to be a full film. I can just imagine boisterous big brother summer herald, calm big sister autumn and calm and collected winter. Honestly, this is utterly beautiful. I felt the joy as they went through the land on dragon back just from the playful motions.
You know when people say 'I have no words etc etc, you see this is probably the only time I've had this. Words cannot describe the beauty of this, so thank you

I have respect for all the people that come together to make these animations, from the artist to the compusor to the script writter, director, everyone. Everyone that helps in the production of animations are great people. Not only are they able to entertain people but they have great patience. Imagine something this short took eight months... Eight freaking months.
I love how the line work looks very penciled in, makes this animation very unique compared to all the shows we are getting on television. Breath of fresh air

I haven't gone through frame-by-frame on some of the important sections but I really don't think that's necessary. Great job with giving the characters in the foreground the right amount of contrast and for using muted colors for the outlines of your background art that helped the characters stand out really well. There's so many good design elements in each shot and you weren't too afraid of going off-model for the sake of fluid movement, nice job. I love the little details of movement and some of the expressions of the characters were really lively and sweet. Just, dang. This is fantastic. I'm sure you probably won't see this and you already know this but you'll be going places. As someone who is very critical of animation overall I can honestly say this has hit all of my checks for quality without being derivative (I.E. Look at me I wanna be Miyazaki!) which I think is important. I particularly appreciate your proportions and how you aren't trying to make things look overly "weeby." I think a lot of people who draw "anime style" don't understand good art but this really stands out. Great work, once again. Thank you.
my second time watching it i noticed the flowers blooming on the branches @ 0:20 and 0:58 (i guess i was too caught up in the cool dragon movements to notice lol) i love the details, that's really awesome!! and i love how flouncy the hair and fabric is
